Suspension Lifted for 1st grader
smellydiaper
by smellydiaper  10-14-2009
Finally a common sense decision. When i read about this yesterday it made my blood boil and i did email the school. More people should express their pinions, sometimes it helps. Not that they paid any attention at all to my rambling. But i did point out that schools have gone to far. IT'S one thing to protect our kids but common sense needs to be used as well. Otherwise the terrorists did accomplish their mission by placing this country in such a paranoid state we may as well have let the Nazi's win. "Do as we say and like it" is what i thought we we fighting against in Arab world and other countries. Point is never feel complacent and like anything you have to say don't matter. Maybe as single input it don't but when merged with hundreds of others people take notice. Speak up and fight for what you think is right otherwise we are no longer a free country. Rather led by the hand being told what and what not to do.

“It’s Life Has Come To An End” Ahmadinejad Lays The Smack Talk On Israel
merrie
by merrie  9-18-2009    3
Ahmadinejad’s fresh comments came ahead of his appearance at the United Nations General Assembly next week and before Tehran attends talks on Oct. 1 with major powers worried about the Islamic Republic’s nuclear strategy. NUCLEAR PROGRAMME Ahmadinejad repeated on Thursday that Iran would “never” abandon its disputed nuclear programme to appease critics. In an NBC-TV interview, he also offered no direct response when asked whether there were any conditions under which Iran would develop a nuclear weapon. “We don’t need nuclear weapons,” Ahmadinejad said, speaking through an interpreter. “We do not see any need for such weapons. And the conditions around the world are moving to favour our ideas,” he added. President Barack Obama, who came to office pledging to engage with Iran, has suggested Tehran may face harsher sanctions, possibly targeting its gasoline imports, if it does not accept good-faith talks by the end of September.

Something's Wrong
AtlLiberal
by AtlLiberal  9-12-2009
Murder is wrong. The taking of another life, except in self-defense, is wrong. So is the politicizing of events like this. Notice that almost no coverage is given to the other man killed in this incident. Is his life worth less than the "Sign Guys" life? It seems that the alleged killer held a grudge against 3 men in this small town. The police caught him before he was able to harm the 3rd man. For this we should be thankful to the law enforcement officers and the high school students who witnessed the 1st killing and took down the license plate number of his car. Extreme actions, on both sides, always engender extreme responses. It would do us a world of good to learn to take a breath and approach these issues with our brains instead of our clubs.

btw... john lilly, psychopharmacologist turned LSD-prophet who went into exile and became the founder of inter-species communications and was the focus of the 70s movie, 'day of the dolphin.' in his fabulously important late 1960s book, 'metaprogramming the human biocomputer,' he posed a thesis which has been largely accepted by the biological sciences community. called 'the 9 configurations,' he showed that the 1st config is a single-celled organism with a single command in its program and no way to change. as we come up the ladder to evermore complex organisms, we reach creatures; then creatures which can learn; then we arrive at the 9th configuration, including man, which can not only learn how to learn BUT CAN CHANGE THEIR PROGRAM, not only as a group but as individuals. lilly believed, as i and many others, that psychedelic agents can play a crucial role in the process of seeing and changing the buggy programs.

Good Moring American Serfs
Doctrader
by Doctrader  8-31-2009
Most credit card companies have mailed out notices, which will go into effect on Sept 1st, some of the new changes will be "monthly maintenance fees for outstanding balances during the billing cycle. So, everyone who has credit card balance, will be paying an extra flat rate fee in addition to the monthly credit charges. If you miss one payment on card or monthly payment plans, all you monthly interest rates may go to 29% per year. This is clearly credit card collusion, yet the govt. will not stop the credit card companies from making you "The New American Surf!" Welcome to serfdom U.S.A.

Strictly speaking, CPR may not have been called for in #5. He was losing consciousness, not having chest pains. And GB gets points for offering a hand and making sure the guy didn't just smack his melon on the deck. But as someone who has done 1st aid out at Burning Man , trust me... when someone says "I'm passing out", take them at their word. Put an arm around their shoulder and (as GB did in fact do) don't let their melon smack the deck. Still a douchebag, though. ;-)

Democrat Healthcare Backfire Bonanza http://www.stoptheaclu.com/2009/08/12/democrat-healthcare-backfire-bonanza/ Other Democrats are complaining that Obama is sending his own astro-turfers and overwhelming their offices. Democrats are getting very desperate in their behavior and getting more unhinged than ever, but I’m saving the best example of this one for its own post. Mary Katheryne Ham summarizes the chaos: The White House, DNC, and leading Democrats keep piling on the unappealing rhetoric, labeling Obamacare critics pawns, lobbyists, un-American, and right-wing extremist mobs. You’d think the Blue Dogs might play it a little smarter, but no such luck. Indeed, they are in full on meltdown. tags 1st Amendment, Barack Obama, Dems In Charge: Now What?, Healthcare, News, Obamanuts, President

The Michael Jackson Case to Date July 1st
merrie
by merrie  7-1-2009
Law enforcement sources tell TMZ the LAPD has asked the DEA to assist them in its investigation into multiple doctors who treated and prescribed medications for Michael Jackson. The LAPD wants help in tracking down the source of medications. As we first reported, the powerful anesthesia Propofol was found in Jackson's home and it appears he got the drug through an IV before he died. As we first reported, Propofol, a powerful anesthesia, was found in the house after Jackson died. Various medical experts tell us there is absolutely no medical justification for Jackson to have had this drug in his home -- it is used to knock people out before surgery. It is administered through an IV. We're told Jackson wanted the drug to sleep and that he had cravings for anesthesia -- whenever he had even the most minor medical procedure ... he had the doctor put him under. It is increasingly looking like Propofol may have caused Jackson to go into cardiac arrest and die.

Humans filtering for humans - now why didn't i think of that?
egoldstein

Ok, i'd by lying if i didn't acknowledge a little bit of frustration these days. With everyone jumping on the concept of human filtered search, i can't help but feel a little bit of "wtf do you think clipmarks.com has been doing for years?". That said, i suppose the time has come when the market is listening to this kind of talk so we better make sure we're in the conversation.
