Abraham Lincoln Purged By Republlcan Party....Not Born in USA

Steele was asked by a reporter from the AP what the future plans were for the GOP. Steele replied..."It is no longer the GOP...in fact, secret documents show that GOP was the code name for the foreign infiltrators and stood for Good Old Poland....we are now the WASP. And we are taking action.....and asking everyone to bring their five dollar bills with Liebovitz's picture on them to Washington, DC. He is not going to have us to kick around any longer. These millions in five dollar bills will be used to tear down Liebovitz's statue on the Mall and replace it with a statue of Sarah Palin field dressing a moose. We are taking his country back....we will not be fooled...never again" When a reporter said to Steele..."But, Mr. Chairman...you are an African American.....Steele replied....."well.....I was an African American...before.......I wasn't an African American" As Steele took his notes and left the stage an open mike picked up the Chairman humming to himself...."l'm Dreaming Of A

The Best Bar In America
zizzy
by zizzy  11-22-2009
Minneapolis is a fun city. Nyes is another Twin-Cites gem More accurately, it is the two best bars in America--Nye's Bar, known as the "Old Side" to its ancient staff and unshifting regulars, and the upscale bordello kitsch of the Polonaise Room--connected through their shared fire wall by a pair of swinging doors. When it comes right down to it, you're either Nye's or you're Polonaise, making this place a kind of crossroads inside and out.

Massachusetts Resident Charged With Plotting Jihad in U.S.
merrie
by merrie  10-21-2009    1
. . booked at the Sudbury police station before being turned over to federal authorities. Federal agents have searched Mehanna’s home and say he is a U.S. citizen. A bail hearing has been scheduled for 1:30 p.m. in federal court. Abousamra left the United States for Syria on Dec. 26, 2006, officials said. He said he would be back within a month after visiting his wife, but has never returned, officials said. The plot included plans to fire at emergency responders, but was abandoned because the men could not obtain the weapons, authorities said. They declined to name the mall or mallsthe men were targeting. Automatic weapons may be more of a challenge, but if you can’t get your hands on guns, even in Massachusetts, you aren’t trying hard enough. It looks like the kind of bust that, during the Bush years, some people would have considered a joke. You don’t hear the sneering anymore. Instead, people behave and talk as though the threat is dated, passe, no longer a concern.

Army Experience Center's Bad Experience: Turns out Training Kids to Kill Not Popular with Public
papananook
by papananook  10-20-2009    5
September 12, 2009, a crowd of 250 activists marched to the AEC in opposition to the use of public dollars to teach children--in a quasi-public-space--that killing can be fun, while also recruiting eighteen-year-olds to engage in the real thing. This time, police arrested six protesters and one journalist. The journalist, Cheryl Biren, wasn't with the protesters but was picked out of the crowd, apparently because of her professional camera. Days prior to this long-planned and publicly announced protest, the Army preemptively announced that it would likely close the AEC and not open any others in shopping malls, as had been planned. The reason? Are you ready to hear this? By their own admission, the Army doesn't need any more recruits because the bad economy has driven up recruitment significantly.

Puerto Rico Unions Protest Job Cuts
ratilfar
by ratilfar  10-16-2009
From the article: Several protesters, holding signs demanding work, directed their criticism at Gov. Luis G. Fortuño. He was elected to his first term last year as a Republican, promising to jumpstart the economy, but so far, job losses and negative growth have continued, punishing the island with its fourth year of recession. Governor Fortuño has said repeatedly that he did not want layoffs, but had no choice. In interviews on radio and television on Thursday, he said that it was the only way to avoid a government shutdown because of the territory’s $3.2 billion deficit. “There was no alternative,” Mr. Fortuño said. “And there is no turning back.” ----- Which I can tell you is an total lie.

Unique Golden Chariot from Ancient Thrace Found
cakebelly
by cakebelly  9-21-2009    1
more (at source): t is both the decoration and the gold-copper alloy that make the chariot on display in downtown Sofia without any analogy among similar finds from ancient times. The decorative plaque is 52 cm long and 12 cm wide, and 0,3 cm thick. It was placed on the lower back part of the chariot, which was actually a luxury passenger car rather than a war chariot. It pictures what appears to be an ancient building, most likely a temple. Other decorations on the chariot include a bust of Heracles (Hercules), and two heads of Medusa, the mythical gorgon monster. Over 200 chariots dated back to Thracian and Roman times have been discovered in Bulgaria so far by both archaeologists and treasure hunters. In comparison, only 2 more chariots have been found in the rest of Roman Empire - one in Pompeii, and another one in Ephesus; and about 20 chariots have been discovered in Hungary.

When love is new, we are often very conscious of the things our partner does to express his or her love for us. As the relationship progresses however, and things start to become routine the thrill we feel for our partners start to wane and we start looking for the loving gestures that gave us such a high when our relationships were beginning.

We were EVERYWHERE in DC......WE jammed the streets and the mall.
The Infowarrior
by The Infowarrior  9-17-2009    2
"This event had been promoted as a taxpayer “tea party,” but the crowd’s concerns were wide ranging, from outrage at ACORN and Obama’s socialist cadre known as Czars, to Obama’s untruthfulness. Protesters also displayed signs mocking Nancy Pelosi and others for smearing the grassroots movement as “astroturfers” and as an angry mob. photos above show a tiny fraction of the two million ABC estimates attended. At the time this photo was taken, around 1:00 pm., Pennsylvania Avenue was still jammed completely, and the mall was packed from the Capitol Building past the Washington Monument. See aerial photos here. Protesters came from every state in the union. This man came from San Antonio, TX. I spoke with others from California to Maine, Florida to Alaska."
