POPSToxic Drywall Leaving Homeowners in Limbo "This is like the small wave that's out on the horizon that's going to continue to grow and grow until it becomes a tsunami," said Florida attorney David Durkee, who represents hundreds of homeowners who are suing builders, suppliers and manufacturers over the drywall. "This is going to become critical mass very shortly." During the height of the U.S. housing boom, with building materials in short supply, American construction companies imported millions of pounds of Chinese-made drywall because it was abundant and cheap. An Associated Press analysis of shipping records found that more than 500 million pounds of Chinese gypsum board was imported between 2004 and 2008 " enough to have built tens of thousands of homes. They are heavily concentrated in the Southeast, especially Florida.

POPSBORN TRUE HERMAPHRODITE - Pictorial Profile  For the following four years (1979 to 1983) he lived in a sexual legal limbo, still carrying the original-and-only, valid female I.D. which now appeared both obsolete and fraudulent. On numerous occasions when asked for proof of identification, he was accused of strangely utilizing a 'counterfeit' or 'stolen' I.D. card belonging to some woman.

POPSGinsburg Temporarily Blocks Chrysler Deal Among the likely explanations for her action: * Ginsburg may have decided to share the decision on what to do with her eight colleagues, and they needed more time to think or talk about it. * Members of the Court may have decided that they wanted to give some explanation, or perhaps some may have decided to dissent and wanted a chance to prepare a statement saying so. In the meantime, it was her task, as the Circuit Justice, to impose a limited stay. * Ginsburg or the Court may be waiting to see how the Second Circuit explains its decision to uphold the terms of the sale. The Circuit Court issued no opinion on Friday, indicating that such an explanation would come “in due course,” although the expectation was that one or more opinions would emerge from those judges on Monday.

POPSDeaths of gamers leave their online lives in limbo This actually sounds like a great idea. I have kept a book with all my online ID's and Passwords. It really came in handy recently when a virus cleaned out all of my documents and photos folders on my computer. I had several of my ID's and Passwords in a folder .. fortunately not complete passwords. just hints I would know. My youngest daughter knows most of my ID's and passwords ... but not all of them. I think I'll look into one of these ... and the USB drive thing sounded like a good idea too.

POPSHow Enbarrabutting.... This is America in the 21st Century "My whole career is in limbo," said a bewildered Jim Piculas. He had been a substitute teacher in Pasco County, Fla., for eight months until his boss, Pat Sinclair, called Piculas over a complaint about his time at Rushe Middle School in Land O' Lakes. "She said, 'You've been accused of wizardry'." Piculas says the week before, he did a brief magic trick for his class: he made a toothpick disappear. A piece of tape hid it behind his thumb, and a flick of his fingers brought it back into view. He then showed students how to do the trick. "The whole thing lasted 45 seconds," he said. But Sinclair told him he would not be hired by the district again. (Tampa Tribune) ...And Presto! With the flick of a pen a teacher disappeared.

POPSA Cartoonist's letter to Bush
How many people have had a career in pointing out the horrible and criminal things that Bush has done, futilely putting his atrocities on display before a indolent and laconic nation and an indignant and outraged world? A word of prayer for those very necessary institutions in print, and on the Internet, who are hovering in limbo, wondering if there will be any more horrible actions by the American Government to rant and rail against. Fortunately for them, despite the hope and joy Obama's victory has brought the world, he is still just human, and a politician to boot. He has an almost divine aura granted to him by the media, so unfortunately, he's destined to disappoint, whether due to the foibles of human nature, or the rabid resistance of the right-wing nutbars still in government. He's hoping he can do the best with the situation facing him, and that people remember that he's not a magician. He's just someone who listens (how long his it been since the US had a leader who does

POPSHey Obama! How About Operation Gaza Freedom? A portrait of Israel's Occupation and blockade of Palestinians on their own land. Meanwhile international press is still forbidden to enter Gaza to tell the story of this program of mass harassment and even murder. Gaza is under siege and Palestinians abused and killed (slowly) but you will not hear anything about an "Operation Palestinian Freedom" (as Iraq war was labeled) from the U.S. or talk of invading Israel to stop the carnage. Proposals like that just do not fit the Zionist neoconservative agenda or that of Obama's foreign policy advisers or his appointments, like Rahm Emanuel, Robert Gates, or Hillary Clinton--all AIPAC approved. By definition of the Zionists the Palestinians must be terrorists and Israel is a poor abused victim "acting in self defense", by making war on average Palestinian citizens. Racial elimination by programs of mass starvation and deprivation of necessities is nothing less than genocide. Who will "change" this!

POPSVatican Forgives John Lennon for Jesus Quip I smile at the idea of John Lennon entertaining JC with some tunes written by he and Yoko. And I wonder at their reaction to the earthly news. No bloody idea, these Catholics. Do they think John is in limbo (which apparently was destroyed by the pope not so long ago because of the cruelty to parents by denying the infant access to the after life with adults) awaiting this statement to get out of jail.

POPSIraq on the brink of another Civil War
Whenever and wherever a despot has died and left a country in political limbo, that country has had problems. When Spain and Portugal went through their Nemesis in the 70's and 80's, they had stable European neighbours to call on. Of all the deaths that threatened stability, it was perhaps only Franco who had made provisions for his demise and reinstalled a King to give the population a focal point. Tito made no provisions at all and the result was the worst form of Civil War imaginable, with, one has to remember, the defining of Ethnic Cleansing. Those countries were safe for law abiding people. Armed policemen patrolled most streets and their form of rule and law prevailed. The soft minded liberals infested the emergent countries with wholly unattainable ideals. Ideals that do not even work in a stable democracy like Britain. Why does Liberalism not work? Because there are those out there who wish us harm and the Liberal Elite cannot conceive such a truth.

POPSTom Starkel, Missing 30 Years I've been sifting through google, looking for whatever information I can find about Tom. One thing that has me a bit puzzled is the fact that Tom disappeared without a trace, and someone else was found driving his vehicle. POPSLogjam of War Contractor Fraud Suits
The exact number of qui tam cases stuck in legal limbo is unknown because the cases are kept under strict seal. But sources who have been following the issue closely estimate that there are between 50 and 70 Iraq contracting fraud cases under seal. Under normal circumstances, when the DOJ receives a qui tam case, it conducts an investigation into the whistleblower's claims. If there is sufficient evidence of significant fraud, the DOJ joins with the whistleblower to sue the company in question and recover the government's money. The whistleblower can receive up to 30 percent of money recovered as a reward for their service to the taxpayer. Not a single qui tam case against war contractors has been joined by the Bush administration DOJ despite the possibility of recovering billions of dollars for the US taxpayer and reining in war profiteers, who continue to cheat and defraud the government and the US troops mired in battle.
