POPSThe Left Pounds ObamaCare, some more Even that single payer maven, Representative Weiner said on WNYC: (http://bit.ly/68EVxB) “I’m not taking the Senate Bill. We’re going to go into a conference hopefully, we’re going to get back to close to where the house is. We’re not taking the Senate Bill. That Senate Bill should not become law.” And " “Peggy Noonan, the columnist and former Reagan speechwriter, told Axelrod on “Morning Joe”: “On the issue of health care, you are losing the left, you are losing the right, you are losing the center. That looks to me like a political disaster.” Pretty much, ’nuff said.

POPSWhy Dems Are Obsessed by Health Reform But buried in the surveys is an explanation for the Democratic obsession to pass the bill: An overwhelming 76% of Democrats back it. "They believe the liberal base expects them to deliver and will punish them if they don't," says Democratic pollster Doug Schoen, who worked for Bill Clinton in the 1990s. That fear is backed up by a new poll taken for the Daily Kos, (http://bit.ly/6ZNdob) the left-wing Web site: 81% of self-described Republicans say they are certain or likely to vote in 2010 compared to 65% of independent voters and only 56% of Democrats. "Democrats have simply not been given enough of a reason to come out and vote yet," writes liberal blogger David Dayen. "The left is waiting for that long-promised 'change' they can believe in." They believe the liberal base expects them to deliver and will punish them if they don't http://bit.ly/8WFw1R

POPS"Calm Down Little Lady" (cont) "Meteor Blades writes at Daily Kos about the passage of the Stupak-Pitts coat-hanger amendment: "Irrational." "Hypersensitive." "Overreacting." "Hysterical." Women recognize these words all too well. They're put-downs many of them have had thrown at them all their lives anytime they raise issues about their treatment in relationships, school, the workplace or society at large. These words and others of similar ilk have found their way into diaries and comments here at Daily Kos yesterday and today around the abomination known as the Stupak-Pitts Amendment. Calm down, little lady, is the tone. Get real. Be adults. Doncha know how politics really works?"

POPS KSM Collects His First Virgin Imagine the security that will be needed for these terrorist trials in one of the most famous cities in the world. Then there’s also the risks to national security these trials would bring. Last month in a Wall Street Journal op-ed, former Attorney General Michael Mukasey noted that Osama bin Laden learned quite a bit from the trial of Sheik Omar Abdel Rahman in 1995. In a statement, Sen. Jon Kyl said, “Past trials of terrorists have proven that our civilian courts are not the appropriate venue to handle international terrorism trials.....Military tribunals "- which have been used by Presidents dating back to George Washington -" are the most appropriate, and secure, forum to try those who commit acts of war against the United States.” My final comment: Obama is a coward. A man would have held a press conference and announced it and defended his stand. He is in Asia instead. The media vetted Joe the Plumber better than the man who is now president.

POPS Tom Tancredo Walks Off MSNBC Set Because Of Markos Moulitas "You're not going to do that. You're not going to try to insult me that way and then pretend like we're just going on and talk about that. You either apologize ..." When Moulitas did not apologize, Tancredo simply took out his earpiece and walked away. As a Republican student activist, Tancredo spoke out in favor of the Vietnam War but did not serve. After graduating from college in June 1969, he became eligible to serve in Vietnam. Tancredo said he went for his physical, telling doctors he'd been treated for depression, and eventually got a deferment.

POPSThe DailyKos reaction to the Fort Hood shooting How do you get this stupid? You have to work hard at it. You have to wake up everyday and carefully consider what you will listen to and what you will have to stare at with an expression of blank incomprehension to remain this dense. And then you need to go on the Daily Kos and write misconceptions about those who disagree with you politically. It’s almost scary to see people this willfully stupid and this angry, This is a screenshot. I don't want links to Kos in my clips.

POPSHot Air From Obama. As the fighting goes on in Iraq and Afghanistan, Obama gets a Nobel prize. What is wrong with this picture?

POPSKeith Olbermanic Foaming at the Mouth Just doesn't get any more true than this: "Beck has done something with his audience. He’s turned them into engaged ( and informed, may I add ) activists, while Olbermann is dumbing down his audience and treating the rest of America like Janet Leigh in the shower." I have no hope for anyone who watches Olbermann. Truly the idiots among us.

POPSCEO John Mackey's Whole Foods Alternative to ObamaCare & The Lefty Bloggers' Backlash
Brian Beutler of TPM noted the inclusion of a diet endorsement in the op-ed, and offered a translation of Mackey's manifesto: ""Whole Foods is the solution to all of America's health care woes." Other attackers had less time for mockery, and demanded a boycott: I Will Never, Ever Shop at Your Stores Again Users at the Daily Kos screamed their outrage, other bloggers linking to their hot-blooded denunciations. "Mr. Mackey," wrote one user named DarkSyde, "your extremist views on employee benefits and unionization have Mackey's Response: The WSJ Put Words in My Mouth Three days after the initial op-ed, John Mackey stated on the Whole Foods CEO's Blog that "Whole Foods Market as a company has no official position on the issue." Saying that he had written the editorial under the simple title of "Health Care Reform," Not Off the Hook , declared The Reality-Based Community's Mark Kleiman, referring to Mackey's response: "The title is the least . . .

POPSPelosi's Swastika Carrying Plants Are Sprouting
Don't believe me. Ask this guy who made a living posing as an ashamed Republican. The media couldn't stop falling for his shtick... Update: First, I was wrong, the sign in question is in the batch of 133, it's easy to overlook, but visible here. Second, our lefty friends want to claim that this is somehow proof that I had it all wrong. I didn't have anything wrong. At the time of Pelosi's statement that picture was unknown to everyone, me, the Huffington Post, everyone at Daily Kos, and even to Pelosi herself. It was only revealed after I proved that Pelosi's information wasn't coming from it's natural sources, the netroots and all its denisons. The sign itself (lame as it may be) generated zero notice, and wasn't noted in press accounts or netroot accounts. More importantly the photo in question wasn't from a townhall meeting, it was from a street demonstration - there was no townhall meeting that day. In that regard it rates a FAIL as proof that Pelosi was right.

POPSten telltale signs of republican disease you need to go to source for the 10 things- and i would like to state- that- this is not clipped in any attempt to be rude or to hurt any ones feelings- I merely found a bit of humor in it- and they do make sense- many valid points---so take away from this clip what you will-

POPSBirther nutjob fantasy has a sold hold on the Republican Party Dear Republican Birther Nutjobs: SHUT YOU THE FUCK UP ALREADY ! Get a fucking grip, people. You have slid off the deep end and found yourself wallowing in a pool of racism and willful blindness to the evidence. Stay conservative, stick to your political principles. But come back to reality on the birth certificate. Just because you don't particularly like the idea of a ARTICULATE MIXED-RACE MAN AS PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES doesn't mean you get to engage in this sort of lunacy and be taken seriously. The descent of the Republicans into a rural, southern party continues.

POPSHawaii declares Obama birth certificate real (7/27/09). Can we finally put this to rest please?
Some of you are saying that if Obama doesn’t produce whatever you consider to be an actual birth certificate, then the Constitution will catch fire and explode. If you want to get technical, though, there isn’t actually any mention of birth certificates in the Constitution. I've always thought Obama was born in Hawaii, just as I've thought Trig was born to Sarah Palin. Sarah Palin-haters are still trying to prove she didn’t give birth to her youngest son, Trig. These tinfoil hat-wearers are as obnoxious and unhinged as the 9/11 Truth cultists who insist that America engineered the jihadi attacks on itself. Seriously, I don't buy into Daily Kos conspiracy nonsense. Those basement dwellers spend their days threatening to move to Canada, but would sooner be caught dead than living in Canada. Frankly, I’m for letting the American people elect whomever they feel like electing. Obama sure as hell wasn't my choice. And many Americans are realizing the devastating mistake.

POPSCut Off Your Nose To Spite Your Face (continued) Along with, signing numerous petitions and writing letters to our public officials concerning this stupid-make-no-sense-at-all, law we are forced to live under... Still, even though we are sliding into an abyss of financial ruin, STILL, this archaic law stands antagonistically, in our faces, unrelenting and challenging us to break the law. I know we humans have built an enormous (out of control) political machine called "living", but someone, somewhere must poke their conditioned mind outside the culture box and question ... "I think there is something wrong with this picture." Until that time, I will go on signing petitions, writing letters and contributing small amounts to any organization (i.e. MMP) who is unafraid to demand that this law be eradicated and marijuana become available legally... thinkingblue http://thinkingblue.blogspot.com/2009/07/cutting-off-your-nose-to-spite-your.html

POPSAbout Compassionate Conservatism I know Bush was crazy with the spending, but that’s not really an excuse for Obama to airdrop gasoline on a wildfire. The conservative blogosphere really should start a fundraiser to buy everyone at Daily Kos helmets to keep them from hurting themselves. That’s compassionate conservatism right there. In Africa, newborn sons are named after George W. Bush. Yet his legacy to this country is the election of a black man — whose father was a true son of Africa. Bush saved over a million lives in Africa from HIV related illnesses. If that kind of compassion is "a contradiction in terms," or troubling, perhaps the bar is set too high.

POPSJindal Admits Katrina Story Was False But now, a Jindal spokeswoman has admitted to Politico that in reality, Jindal overheard Lee talking about the episode to someone else by phone "days later." The spokeswoman said she thought Lee, who died in 2007, was being interviewed about the incident at the time. This is no minor difference. Jindal's presence in Lee's office during the crisis itself was a key element of the story's intended appeal, putting him at the center of the action during the maelstrom. Just as important, Jindal implied that his support for the sheriff helped ensure the rescue went ahead. But it turns out Jindal wasn't there at the key moment, and played no role in making the rescue happen.

POPS A Reverse Souter, I Entreat Thee residual Republican standing. If that’s in fact the case, its exercise could be an integral part of Thy Twisted Will, O Foul Ones! Protein Wisdom, channeling Allahpundit on Twitter, wickedly suggests Michelle Obama. Hear, hear! Allahpundit at HotAir, Farewell, Old Mistake! PoliGazette: “Precedent says that a liberal judge will stay liberal.” Jinx! Daily Kos helpfully posts a rogue’s gallery of mountebanks. POPS Spanish Inquisition Update Full disclosure: I consider the above mentioned American soldiers to be friends, was present during the incident in question, and offered to go to Spain to testify on their character and the circumstances of the April 8, 2003 Palestine Hotel incident, also on what cowards I consider the Spanish people to be, as represented by their courts and their government. Not to include my pal Barcepundit and other mortified, rigt-thinking Spaniards. http://barcepundit-english.blogspot.com/

POPS Don't Mess With U.S. OK, time for Executive Grow-A-Set Order No 1. You can call it the Obama Doctrine. Anyone engaging in acts of piracy or terrorism on Americans anywhere in the world or in areas where American forces are lawfully operating can have his coconut drilled at any time, based on the discretion of the commander on scene. No further discussion. You holding your breath? I’m not. Yes, Obama allowed U.S. forces to do their job. It would have been shameful if he didn’t. But it involved no strategizing or anything beyond a yes or no by Obama, and frankly didn’t require that. It means nothing more than a happy day for America and the Phillips family, plus some wailing in a couple of Somali villages. Unless Obama has a plan, and the will to execute it. On that front, to steal a phrase, he has not yet begun to fight.

POPSObama's secrecy/immunity claims See link above for Olbermann video criticizing Obama's continuance, even expansion of secret programs. it is simply unacceptable -- no matter what else is true about him -- for Obama to claim for himself the very legal immunity and secrecy powers which characterized and enabled the worst excesses of Bush lawlessness. Yet in a short period of time, he has taken one step after the next to do exactly that.

POPSGlen Beck says Crooksandliars.com and liberal blogs are blaming him for the Pittsburgh shooting Beck: Blaming anyone except the nut job for what happened in Pittsburgh is crazy. Police officers over the weekend were killed by a crazy with a gun and blaming anybody else besides him is like blaming the flight attendant after a terrorist takes down a plane. Giving passengers a nice little safety talk to prepare them doesn't mean your responsible should a terrorist actually make that worst case scenario happen. One person is providing who would have acted that way no matter what. Bloggers rushed to paint this killer as a conservative, presumably one who is clinging to his God and his guns. Actually, we didn't paint him as a "conservative," we called him a "right-winger" -- which he is. It turned out he was an extreme right-winger, but the description was accurate.
