Will Tone of MSNBC Change w/Comcast Merger?
davboz
by davboz   11-12-2009    1
I have a pretty basic Comcast package and ever since I heard people complaining that they removed the MEssNBC, I found it up on stn.#128, away from the more "regular" channels, so I'd advise one to scan their sets, you may still have it. (I can't believe I'm helping anyone find the thing;-) Anyway, I think it would be too obvious for Comcast to make it any more scarce. Maybe it's just as well to keep those nutjobs (Olbermann, Matthews, Maddow, etc.) all in one place where they think they've really got something goin' on. Otherwise who knows what kind of hell they'd raise with their whining.

King And Nonviolence
debbyski
by debbyski  11-8-2009    4
Yes it's true that September 11th changed a lot of things and reminded us how vulnerable we are. It made us realize we face a dangerous and diabolically clever enemy. It strengthened our resolve and triggered important steps to prevent future attacks, actions that made us more secure as a nation. But 9/11 did not and could not change the basic ground rules: War or incitement to violence is justified only when it's in response to a deliberate attack and only when it's undertaken as a last resort. And even during wartime, nations must observe the highest moral standards. It's so easy to incite violence. And it's so wrong.

Three more quit over Nutt sacking
sincitykitty

Professor Nutt was sacked more than a week ago in response to views he expressed in an academic journal in January and a lecture he later gave at King's College London. He spoke out against the government's decision to toughen penalties for possessing marijuana and argued that the drug is less harmful than tobacco or alcohol.

Watch out for the trolls, but don't take your eye off of the road
clip-on-tie
by clip-on-tie  10-31-2009    3
Trollstigen is closed during the fall and winter months. A normal opening season stretches from the middle of May to October, but may sometimes be shorter or longer due to changes in the weather conditions, or unexpected trolls of course. In the summer of 2005 the road was repaired and about 16 million NOK was spent on protection against rockfall, making the road a lot safer to drive on....that is unless you aren't watching closely......for the trolls.....bwahahahahahaha......
