The Sins John Edward Did Not Commit
debbyski
by debbyski  8-9-2008    26
You know what? I get sick and tired of the moral majority being the judge and jury of a personal situation which is between a husband and wife, especially since so many of them just love to pork it up with hot babes themselves or better yet, love getting same sex encounters in public restrooms.

The Most Important Story So Far This Month
cptenaud
by cptenaud  8-9-2008    6
I join you in your anger, disgust and dismay. I'ts the best news corporate can buy! (0.00 / 0) Between this story and the Matthew McConaughey placenta spectacular, I thank God I've lived long enough to remember what journalism used to be. Including the status of our servicemen and women, there are so many issues to be tackled and this...is the best that media can come up with? I'm too flustered to read more than the headlines of this swill. Specifically gave up on network television news 2 years ago...is print next?

You'll never guess why John Edwards worked for a hedge fund
egoldstein
by egoldstein  5-10-2007    11
This was really his answer! Man, Edwards is about the most slippery politician i've seen. he is actually trying to spin his year at a hedge fund as a learning experience about poverty. does he really think that people are this stupid? i can't wait to find out how much he got paid for this "learning experience." apparently that will be disclosed next week.

Edwards has a point: Hillary is Wrong
ouyangwulong
by ouyangwulong  11-6-2007    2
Edwards raises a very good point, something Democrats have an amazing capacity to over look. In 2000 the Democrats ran Al Gore, and he wasn't able to generate enough enthusiasm to secure the white house. In 2004 they ran John Kerry as the "Bush-beater" candidate, and he didn't generate enough enthusiasm to even make people bother noticing the blatant fraud in the election. Dukakis, Mondale, McGovern, and Stevenson were no better. The democrats have run an outstanding array of losers since the mid point of the 20th century. As long as Hilary Clinton remains an establishment candidate with no clear ideological positions and delicately structured plans that only go half way, she won't be winning anything. Also, seriously, if the election came down to Hillary (Bomb Iran) v. Guliani (BOMB IRAN) then we would be looking at a contest where the Daisy Girl add would be considered positive PR!

Are People Finally Starting to Smarten Up When It Comes to Coulter?
zasel
by zasel  3-9-2007    9
Three papers so far are dropping her, and I understand she is beginning to lose invitations to speak to certain groups. Could this be the beginning of the end for this sick-o? This is the same thing that happened to "Dr." Laura. She went from being the be all and end all of conservative talk on hundreds of radio stations, and was given her own TV show. Then, because of her gay slander and hate-speech, her column was dropped from many papers, her TV show canceled, and her radio show is heard on only a fraction of the stations it used to be on in her hey day. As the old saying goes....every do has his/her day.

THE WORKING POOR or THE MISSING CLASS
thinkingblue
by thinkingblue  8-16-2007    10
So many people fall into this category... Not quite falling into the statistical poverty class because they may earn a few dollars above the invisible line drawn by economists. Everyday is a challenge for this type of family. Vacations are few, items of luxury don't exist, food is scarce and the roof over their head is always in jeopardy. Because they claw and break their backs to stay slightly above the invisible line... they themselves become invisible. There is an old saying that "The squeaky wheel gets the oil!" and since these people are too damn busy working their tuchus' off, they have no time to squeak until it's too late and they lose their employment or become ill or lose their working partner and then one morning they awaken and find themselves in a freefall under the invisible line quickly heading for the proverbial ROCK-BOTTOM. Like these next two paragraphs in this piece state:

Rising sea levels will change face of America
kkcapricorn
by kkcapricorn  9-22-2007    1
The Environmental Protection Agency's calculation projects a land loss of about 22,000 square miles. The EPA, which studied only the Eastern and Gulf coasts, found that Louisiana, Florida, North Carolina, Texas and South Carolina would lose the most land. But even inland areas like Pennsylvania and the District of Columbia also have slivers of at-risk land, according to the EPA. This past summer's flooding of subways in New York could become far more regular, even an everyday occurrence, with the projected sea rise, other scientists said. And New Orleans' Katrina experience and the daily loss of Louisiana wetlands — which serve as a barrier that weakens hurricanes — are previews of what's to come there. Florida faces a serious public health risk from rising salt water tainting drinking water wells, said Joel Scheraga, the EPA's director of global change research. And the farm-rich San Joaquin Delta in California faces serious salt water flooding problems

Furthermore, the Senate resolution that Hillary Clinton and John Edwards were condemned for voting to support, clearly stated that the only way Bush could use force against Iraq is if he, Bush, certified in writing to the Senate, within 60 days of commencement of hostilities, that there was CLEAR EVIDENCE that Saddam Hussein was somehow linked to the events of 9/11. And in fact, about 40 or 50 days after the invasion, George Bush did write a letter to the Senate saying that "I certify and I swear that Saddam Hussein was involved in the events of 9/11." A copy of this letter is available at www.whitehouse.gov Subsequently, however, Bush has publicly admitted that Saddam did not have anything to do with 9/11.

An Obama speechwriter moves to Massachusetts...she can't afford health insurance
clip-on-tie
by clip-on-tie  10-14-2009    2
An Obama speechwriter moves to Massachusetts, a state with "universal health care," and finds out she can't afford insurance. Turns out that individual mandates and the requirement that insurance cover everything for everybody make insurance super-expensive (exactly what some are warning will happen with ObamaCare.) It's like the saying goes, "If you think health care is expensive now, wait until it's free."

Paris To "White-Haired Dude" --- "What Ever"
merrie
by merrie  8-8-2008    9
Most astonishing of all, Big Media (the broadcast and cable networks, The Associated Press and major newspapers) continue their near-total blackout of reporting on a story that broke in the National Enquirer on July 22, well before we went on vacation -- where the tabloid's reporters and a photographer staked out a Los Angeles hotel where former Democratic presidential candidate John Edwards allegedly visited his rumored mistress. You can read or hear all about it in the British press, online bloggers, Internet Web sites (including the Huffington Post and most exhaustively on Mickey Kaus' blog), the usual right-wing radio suspects. Even late night comics like Jay Leno are starting to joke about it. But don't expect a word of it to pass the lips of Brian Williams, Charlie Gibson or Katie Couric. Does Michelle Obama Have a Drinking Problem?
merrie
by merrie  7-20-2009    2
Is alcohol rehab part of healthcare plan? But he also feels guilty because of the pictures taken of him drinking beer at an NBA game recently.” The President also feels he may have contributed to his wife’s alcohol issues by not stopping her from overindulging during their date night in New York City on May 30. Michelle, 45, knocked back “a glass or two of champagne” while the couple flew to the Big Apple on a private jet, according to the close source, and published reports said she downed two martinis during dinner at the Greenwich Village restaurant Blue Hill. “It was clear that Mrs. Obama was having a VERY good time,” a restaurant employee told The ENQUIRER. “There’s a real fear that she may be drinking more than she should as a result of the pressures that come along with being First Lady,” an insider divulged. It looks like “Last call” are the First Lady’s least favorite words. Source: NationalEnquirer.com
