NBC Olympics Web Site Awards West Bank to “Palestine”
merrie
by merrie  8-17-2008    1
Today's Reuters story about Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert's peace offer to the Palestinians gets wrong the basic history of Palestine. Under the proposal, Israel would return to the Palestinians some 92.7 percent of the occupied West Bank, plus all of the Gaza Strip In fact, it is impossible to "return" West Bank land to the Palestinians, as they never were the sovereigns of this territory. http://blog.camera.org/archives/2008/08/updated_reuters_rewrites_ruler.html Before 1967, when the West Bank came into Israeli hands, the territory was ruled (and annexed) by Jordan. Prior to that, it was under British rule. Before that, it was Ottoman territory. The Egyptians ruled for some time, as did the Mamluks, the Crusaders, Arab Caliphs, and a number of other ancient empires. But the Palestinians are not on this list. So while the West Bank could technically "return" to Jordanian or British sovereignty, it could not, however, return to Palestinian sovereignty.

U.S. refuses Israel weapons to attack Iran: report
tabsey
by tabsey  8-13-2008
The result of this difference over weapons will be of little interest if the Jews go nuclear. Good that America says no. ( I thought the Jews were given the Holy Land to look after it, not as a base for wars based on paranoia.)

Rice Says She Won't Block Strikes Against Nuclear Sites
merrie
by merrie  8-9-2008
"We don't say yes or no to Israeli military operations; Israel is a sovereign country," Ms. Rice said. "Every day that the centrifuges continue to spin brings Iran closer to a nuclear weapons capability and threatens the stability and security of the region and the world," Israel's ambassador in Washington, Sallai Meridor, said. "The international community should immediately apply additional robust sanctions." The Security Council, which has imposed three rounds of mild sanctions on Iran since 2006, has traditionally taken its time before agreeing on compromise action that manages to satisfy Russia, China, and several European countries that prefer conducting business with Iran to halting its nuclear run . The process is also very slow, the American U.N. ambassador, Zalmay Khalilzad, acknowledged yesterday.

Netanyahu Rushes for Power in Israel, Before Bush's Term is Up
blueridge
by blueridge  7-31-2008
"Hurry the elections", i.e. he wants into power NOW. The Likud Party is linked directly to the neoconservatives in America. Netanyahu (who is close friends with Larry Silverstein, the WTC leaseholder) wants power before the change of President in the U.S. in order to start war with Iran, to continue the neocon agenda beyond the Bush administration's term. MARK THIS: If he wins, they will attack Iran immediately, and he is pushing hard to get in before Jan. '09, to control US war policy. Pat Buchanan documented the link earlier: In 1996, neoconservatives currently serving in the Bush administration wrote a policy paper for Israeli right-wing Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu . In the policy paper Douglas Feith (currently Undersecretary of Defense), David Wurmser (VP Cheney’s staff) and Richard Perle (Defense Review Board) called for "removing Saddam Hussein from power in Iraq

Messiah Lies About His Senate Committee Assignment
merrie
by merrie  7-24-2008    5
John explains the rest: But Obama is not a member of the Senate Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs Committee. Obama just made that up so he could count the committee's action as one of "my deeds." If committed by a Republican, this would be a gaffe of historic proportions. Even a Senator as inattentive to his duties as Obama certainly knows what committees he serves on. For him to fabricate the claim, out of whole cloth, that the Senate Banking Committee is " committee," strikes me as another sign of Obama's megalomania. That, plus more evidence that he is totally at sea without a teleprompter. Illinois Senator's Record Of Inaction Leaves Him Discredited WASHINGTON, July 14 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The following is being issued by the Republican National Committee: As Chairman Of The Subcommittee With NATO Oversight, Obama Has Failed To Hold Any Hearings On Afghanistan:

9/11 of its Day. Today: King David Atrocity.
righthand

From criminal, to terrorist, to killer, to Prime Minister, to Nobel Peace Prize winner, yes it had to be a Zionist. Menachem Begin was commander of the Irgun terrorist gang then more infamous and feared than today's al Qaeda . Begin wrote in his memoirs, The Revolt: " History and experience taught us that if we are able to destroy the prestige of the British in Palestine, the regime will break. Since we found the enslaving government's weak point, we did not let go of it. " Words that could be about the USA instead of the Brits by al Qaeda and not the Prime Minister of Israel. Any Arab terrorists have a long long way to go in the terrorist league to catch the Zionists.
