POPSThe Executions In Iran Continue 4.july.2009 Iran Human Rights, July 1: Six people were hanged in Tehran’s Evin prison early this morning July 1. reported the state run Iranian news agency ISNA. None of those who were executed today were identified by name, age or details around what they were convicted of. The state run news site "young journalist’s club" also reported that one man identified as Alireza (28) was hanged in Tehran’s Evin prison convicted of murdering his friend. Jerusalem Post , quoting a source in Iran, reported that six people were hanged in Tehran in relation with the recent pro-democracy demonstrations in Iran. Iran Human Rights can not verify this report. Mahmood Amiry-Moghaddam, spokesperson of "Iran Human Rights" said:"We are concerned that none of those executed today were identified by name.

Al-Arabiya's website has stated that an Egyptian lawyer belonging to the Muslim Brotherhood, Mamdouh Ismail has filed a complaint in Egypt's Prosecutor General's Office. He has asked them to ban Ahmadinejad from entering Egypt next month to attend a diplomatic meeting. He has accused Ahmadinejad of winning the election erroneously and for insulting two of Prophet Mohammed's companions. 7. Seven people were arrested in Qazvin today in connection with the protests. The head of Participation Front in Hormozgan Province, Mr. Ramezanpour, was also arrested.

EU states, meanwhile, are considering withdrawing their ambassadors from Iran in a growing diplomatic row. Britain proposed the step after Iran detained nine of its embassy staff last week. Eight have since been released. The BBC's European affairs correspondent Oana Lungescu says senior officials from EU capitals will discuss the request in Stockholm on Thursday. But diplomats say that Germany and Italy - Iran's biggest trading partners in the EU - oppose it, arguing that channels of dialogue with Iran should be kept open.
