The atomic weight of your bits
trianta
by trianta  1-24-2006
Well, there you are. A bit can (will) be assigned different "weights" depending on the content it carries (make "bit" a "packet"). If telcos have their way. Meaning, a VOIP bit 'll be heavier, and more expensive, than a text bit. I have been wondering how these huge companies will survive the onslaught of internet telephony (not to mention what broadcasters of video are thinking). A very good article

The companies in early days has used the web for some excellent offers to extend their business to many location on web servers. In future the web will not only used for exchanging the products but also it will be used to exchange their views or information. the internet popularity has gained in this way. Early days people used to communicate through emails and chats but it wasn't enough for beating verbal communications. This fact came to an end when software developers created the software for it which allows the peoples to transform the sound as well as the video through internet. That is how most of communicators thought of Voice over IP(VOIP). To know more see the site below...

Government Hype Against Skype and VoIP--"Security Threat"
blueridge
by blueridge  7-25-2009
It's not just Russia that is opposed to private internet telephony applications. Buried deep in the article the real reason comes out: Delegates at the meeting also warned that it has been impossible for police to spy on VoIP conversations The NSA has admitted the same thing here --enough to tap the hacker market to find a "solution". (Offering big money to those who would help break our privacy, for their own gain). Too bad. It's not only cheap to place calls this way, but so far very private.
