POPSUK is now spelt C-H-I-N-A The UK government is moving in leaps and bounds to becoming the most repressive state in Europe. Already they have the most comprehensive DNA database of citizens in the world (it has taken an EU court ruling to restrict the holding of innocent citizens DNA to 6 years) now they will be monitoring and storing every call, text, email and website a citizen visits. Sad times, shame this news did not come out of the 5th of November...

POPS Combat Wounded, Combat Dead
defense such as we’re already seeing explored on his behalf … rather than as a committed jihadi, an unlawful combatant, a terrorist, a deserter who aided and abetted the enemy, and a traitor who took up arms against his nation. It’s a push Republican lawmakers and those Democrats who agree could take up, that would command a lot of public support. Politicization of justice? Tell me that hasn’t happened already in this country. I’d call it a simple demand for justice. We owe it to the dead and the wounded to acknowledge why and under what circumstances they died and bled. Here’s an American hero who deserves the highest honors we can bestow on her. NY Daily News. Sgt. Kimberly Munley, cop, gunfighting woman. Went into a hot situation without regard for her own safety, gave better than she got, wounded in action, got the job done. I’d call that gallantry and valor in the face of the enemy, plus war wounds. Maybe even above and beyond. She’s reportedly an Army vet.

POPSThe Menorah As Mossad Symbol - an outraged Jew writes to Jeff Rense "(Note - This totally contradicts the Jewish ethics I learned at home, and reminds me precisely the "Protocols of the Elders of Zion") Bottom: "Ha'Mossad Le'modiein" Translation: "The institute for the collection of Information" As a Jew who supports Israel, I am deeply ashamed that the Mossad has chosen to use the symbol of the State of Israel in the middle of its logo. The Menora (lamp) and the leaves are also a part of our Jewish heritage around the world, but, now that the Mossad has been implicated so seriously with the 911, Lockerbie, ADL, Drugs, Foster, and today with the Mexican Government bombing, I will remove the Menora from my house. Sincerely yours, Shulamit Levy Florida "

POPSOIL: The Real Purpose for the Afghanistan War and Af-Pak Policy It's not about "terrorism" but an oil pipeline from the Caspian region to Pakistan, thru Afghanistan. The proof is that the invasion was planned before Sept. 11th! This fact should be sufficient to establish Motive, should it not? Now you know why the Taliban and bin Laden got fingered for 9/11, instead of Saudi hijackers, etc. "It's not going to be built until there is a single Afghan government. That's the simple answer." Bush began war in the region in Oct. 2001. May 2002 the BBC reported the immediate result The leaders of Afghanistan, Pakistan and Turkmenistan have agreed to construct a $2bn pipeline to bring gas from Central Asia to the sub-continent . Now look at this map of Military and Oil .

POPSThe Kremlin’s Eeeevil New Plan to Rein in Bloggers “There should be international rules drawn up through collective effort, and the worldwide web should continue to develop as it has done so far " as a common environment. Only this way can we counter terrorism, xenophobia, and other unlawful activity on the Web.”

POPSU2 Asks: How Long Must Terror Go On?
Peoples of all faiths, cultures, countries, creeds, whatever -- however you define yourself, must unite as one. In my Faith, we call it unity in diversity, although that has now been co-opted by other groups seeking to exploit its true religious meaning. Nonetheless, in this age of the Internet, of instant communications, it is up to the peoples of the world to ensure this small planet's unity. Our leaders waste precious breath, time and resources in their continuing childish political and religious battles, only becoming serious because many have the means to destroy many of us in a single blast, or a single campaign. The peoples of the world need to throw to the scrap heaps of history the outmoded mechanisms of change in the past, namely revolution of whatever political or religious brand you choose, and choose instead a nonviolent revolution of the heart and soul. One that changes humanity from within. Let the foolish leaders continue to be blabbermouths, distorting

POPSOsama bin Laden Message Surfaces in Wake of 9/11 Anniversary Bin Laden also links President Obama to the Bush Administration, saying "the sour reality is that the new administration is still covering you in the shroud of darkness. So how's that "appeasement" working out for you Dems? The 11 minute audio message was released in a video from al Qaeda's as-Sahab's propraganda arm. The title, "Message to the American People" is superimposed over an artist's rendition of the New York City skyline with the World Trade Center towers still standing. Oh yeah, but Bin Laden is dead, right?

POPSAmericans Denounced As Terrorists While Criminals Embraced "Indeed, it’s perfectly reasonable for the government to reward criminals who have already broken the laws of the land while training police forces across the nation that American citizens, of whatever race or color, are a threat to society because they have a political bumper sticker, support a third party candidate or are somewhat knowledgeable about the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. The infamous MIAC report has now been superceded by a new document, The 2009 Virginia Terrorism Threat Assessment, produced by the Virginia Fusion Center. The report smears anyone who is “anti-government,” “anti-abortion,” as potential terrorists, equates people who enjoy rifle shooting practice and hunting with terrorists, and demonizes the use of the Internet and websites like You Tube, Fark and Slashdot as terrorist tools. The use of “e-protests” is also talked about in the context of terrorism."

POPSCatherine Crabill, VA GOP Candidate: We May Have To "Resort To The Bullet Box" (VIDEO) UPDATE: Crabill has defended her words in an interview with the Washington Post. "Those are my convictions," Crabill, 52, said in a telephone interview this morning. "I am a full-blooded, freedom-loving American, and what we're seeing in Washington is domestic terrorism at its worst." But as a video of some provocative remarks zipped around the Internet, she also worried that she would be caricatured as an extremist. And she said she wanted to make clear that she was not advocating armed resistance. "I have no desire to see this country erupt in any kind of violent revolution," Crabill said. "I don't even own a gun."

POPSWho Stands With The Freedom Fighters of Iran? Iran's dictatorship is the heart of much of Islamic terrorism and violence throughout the Middle East and the world. Ridding the world of that evil transcends the more narrow concerns about Iranian nuclear development! President Obama, behind the curve of even Democrats in his own party in the House who voted unanimously for a resolution sponsored by Mike Pence, (R-IN) to "Condemn the ongoing violence against demonstrators by the Government of Iran and pro-government militias," finally some additional fortitude Saturday afternoon and released the following statement: The statement above is a subtle shift from Obama's statements earlier in the week where he repeated the phrase "respect Iranian sovereignty" which is code for respect the dictatorship of the Mullahs. Today's phrase "If the Iranian government seeks the respect of the international community" is a subtle, but significant shift.

POPSBrave New World It's coming! Just keep an eye on Great Britain as the government seeks to watch, listen and be in all people's everyday existence. This country is at the forefront of abolishing personal liberties. Their CCTV system is unparalleled in the world as one would think this would be the Soviet Union during the Cold War. GB and other EU countries are in the process tagging citizen's cars with GPS for tracking purposes, hiding behind the umbrella of using this acquired data as a means to tax driver's mileage. The U.S. is kicking this idea around even now.

POPSRepeal the AETA The case of the AETA 4 is the first application of this dangerous, Sedition Act like law. It is clear that the law can and will be used both to criminalize lawful protests and to overcharge pretty offenses. It is of critical importance that the case against the AETA 4 be dropped in order to protect our Constitutional right to dissent. Write your senator and representative and demand that they repeal the AETA which will only lead to violations of our Constitutional rights.

POPSSocial networking: Haven for hatred? The learning process involved in computer social networking must lead to greater tolerance. We socialize with people we would like in the real world and those we may never come across in the real world, who we can learn from and about . Racist attitudes on this site are handled well by most clippers. After 25 years in a town full of racial problems, this is bliss.

POPSRevenge of the "Waco Gene"
This topic is getting a lot of play. In recent months we have heard of tales of FEMA concentration camps: http://forums.ebay.com/db1/topic/The-Soapbox/Fema-Has-Concentration/510085018 And U.S. Army troops to serve as U.S. policemen: http://www.newswithviews.com/baldwin/baldwin472.htm The general public thinks these are good developments, to be used to control the ‘radical element’ within our society out to disrupt our very way of life. But now with recent Homeland Security re-defining what a terrorist is, we see the cross-hairs being leveled on everyday average citizens. Earlier this month, the ERB issued a nine-page assessment of "right-wing extremism" which, basically, acknowledges that every "local" police agency in the US is now a sensory organ, and enforcement appendage, of the Homeland Security State. State and local police are now being tasked to become Big Brothers “eyes and ears” to gather intelligence on these newly defined “extremists” within their jurisdi

POPSRolling Stone Satire Led to Gitmo Torture
Among the things that it's illegal to do these days, add "reading Rolling Stone while Muslim." Better put down Mad Magazine too, just to be on the safe side. The piece tells us: "Unclassified evidence corroborates Binyam’s claims that he was threatened – at the time the White House was obsessed by the idea terrorists had access to nuclear materials," said Mohamed's lawyer, Clive Stafford Smith. "Binyam said that he told them about a website he had once seen on the internet called How To Build An H-Bomb. He said that this was a joke but they thought it might be serious. "I am speculating but I think this news was sent up the line to the White House, which is when the paranoia kicked in," Stafford Smith added. "This is how they made their huge mistake, thinking he was a major terrorist as opposed to a London janitor." Feel safer now? Never let it be said that the Bush administration wasn't paranoid enough. They were always willing to err on the side

POPSReleased Gitmo Detainees Return to fight again Welcome to the neighborhood. The democrats desire to legitimize terrorists is disturbing. To think that this nice young man could be coming to a prison near you should unsettle us freedom loving Americans. The whole reason we went to the Middle East to fight these terrorists was to keep them from coming over here where we would have to fight them on our own soil, I fail to see how aiding and abating terrorists is a good government policy. Perhaps some of you democrats could explain that to me.

POPSWho Will Save Israel From Itself? With each new family, 10, 20 and 30 strong, buried under the rubble of a building in Gaza, the claim that the Israeli forces have gone out of their way to diminish civilian casualties - long a centre-piece of Israel's image as an enlightened and moral democracy - is falling apart. Anyone with an internet connection can Google "Gaza humanitarian catastrophe" and find the UN's Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs in the Occupied Territories and read the thousands of pages of evidence documenting the reality of the current fighting, and the long term siege on Gaza that preceded it. The Red Cross, normally scrupulous in its unwillingness to single out parties to a conflict for criticism, sharply criticised Israel for preventing medical personnel from reaching wounded Palestinians, some of whom remained trapped for days, slowly starving and dying in the Gazan rubble amidst their dead relatives.
