POPSWhy Does Interpol Need Immunity from American Law? Being constrained by the Fourth Amendment, FOIA, and other limitations of the Constitution and federal law that protect the liberty and privacy of Americans is what prevents law-enforcement and its controlling government authority from becoming tyrannical. On Wednesday, however, for no apparent reason, President Obama issued an executive order removing the Reagan limitations. That is, Interpol's property and assets are no longer subject to search and confiscation, and its archives are now considered inviolable. This international police force (whose U.S. headquarters is in the Justice Department in Washington) will be unrestrained by the U.S. Constitution and American law while it operates in the United States and affects both Americans and American interests outside the United States. by Andy McCarthy

POPSObama Executive Order Cedes US Sovereignty, Citizen Rights to Interpol
In 1972 the sitting Interpol President was Paul Dickopf, former Nazi SS officer (SS #337259). Photo of Dickopf on bottom of previous page. Nudge, nudge folks… This seems a minor change but let us break it out for you as we see it. Let’s look at the section from Executive Order 12425. Here’s the text of 2(c), which this Executive Order now has applying to Interpol: (c) Property and assets of international organizations, wherever located and by whomsoever held, shall be immune from search, unless such immunity be expressly waived, and from confiscation. The archives of international organizations shall be inviolable. This now says that Interpol is no longer subject to the Freedom of Information Act. Their premises or staff can no longer be searched either. Their files are not subject to legal subpoena or discovery. Our government could just hand documents and files over to Interpol and Americans would no longer have access to them. Interpol can legally keep

POPSObama Sets Interpol Above US Law
"Interestingly, Interpol's US headquarters is in the Justice Department, run by the same corrupt, pro-terrorist lowlife who quashed an investigation into Black Panther voter intimidation on Obama's behalf. NRO wonders: Why is it suddenly necessary to have, within the Justice Department, a repository for stashing government files which, therefore, will be beyond the ability of Congress, American law-enforcement, the media, and the American people to scrutinize? Interpol works closely with the International Criminal Court, a gang of moonbats who would gladly round up prominent Republicans like Dick Cheney and throw them in jail on charges of insensitivity to terrorists. America has refused to surrender its sovereignty to this ultra-left kangaroo court — a policy Chairman Zero is likely to reverse. In most banana republics, you only have to worry about your own police. But in the dystopia of "Hopey Change," who knows who may soon be dragging you out of bed in the middle of th

POPSBlair Iraq war admission sparks fresh outrage Blair is due to give evidence to the inquiry into the war, led by former civil servant John Chilcot, early next year, and the commentator in the Sunday Telegraph said the investigation's focus must now change. "Mr Blair's game-changing admission gives them a licence to be tougher and more prosecutorial," he wrote, a call echoed by campaigners at Stop the War Coalition, who urged Chilcot's inquiry to recommend legal action against Blair. Professor Philippe Sands, a leading international lawyer, said he believed Blair's comments had left him vulnerable to legal proceedings. "The fact that the policy was fixed by Tony Blair irrespective of the facts on the ground, and irrespective of the legality, will now expose him more rather than less to legal difficulties," Sands told The Sunday Herald.

POPSBilly Graham Center Archives: Records of the Fellowship Foundation (The Family) concerned largely with either contacts between members of the prayer breakfast fellowship in Washington and those leaders of the indigenous movement in a particular country This page includes historical background and list of of archived documents, tapes, and photographs. The International records are fascinating: an astonishing list of countries and the years during which The Fellowship Foundation has used Christianity as a political tool to interfere in the development of nations. What was the extent of Billy Graham's involvement? There is a 25-year restriction on access, so any any activities that occurred during the Regan's 2nd term through Bush, Jr. administration are not available.

POPSLand of the Free, Home of the Brave Or, since I am referring to Honduras, "tierra de los libres, hogar de los valientes". Congratulations to the people of Honduras, who maintained their democratic process in the face of tremendous international pressure to abdicate it. It is now only a matter of time before other nations--including my beloved Brazil--will recognize the legitimate government. Look for Chavez' Venezuela to be a spitefully perpetual holdout.

POPSChina: Postscript to Obama Visit: When Bejing Blinked Advocating the G2 is in fact an American strategy, not China’s" said Shi Yinhong, an expert on international relations at Renmin University in Beijing. "The U.S. wants us in a tandem because that way it will be easier to work on all financial and security issues the way they want us to."

POPSAre you funding cluster bombs? Cluster bombs are large explosive weapons that scatter dozens or hundreds of smaller submunitions over a wide area. They cannot distinguish between military targets and civilians. Many submunitions fail to detonate on impact and, like landmines, continue to kill and maim people long after the conflict has ended. Find out more about Dtar's story by watching this short film. The good The global campaign to eradicate cluster bombs, spearheaded by the Cluster Munitions Coalition, reached a major breakthrough in 2008 when governments negotiated an international treaty to ban them. So far, 103 countries have joined the Convention on Cluster Munitions, including the UK. The bad Although the UK government has signed the ban and stopped production of cluster bombs, UK banks still invest in cluster bomb producers in countries that have not yet outlawed them. A ban simply can’t be effective if there is still funding for the production of these weapons.

POPSSelf-guided walking and eating tour of Oakland's Fruitvale District More: Browse, watch the tortillas come out of the machine, maybe buy some take-out for later. I love the way all the staff say where they're from (including Oakland) on their name tags. There's also a churro vendor on that corner. When you're ready to eat again, cross back over High St. to El Grullo and get a carnitas taco. Walk back down to International. If El Gordo is open, get an al pastor taco and a suardero taco. Continue back down International to El Huarache Azteca. Get something made with fresh masa with chicken tinga (chicken stewed in chipotle sauce) -- a sope would be a good choice… Walk down E. 12th to Nieves Cinco de Mayo for ice cream, and you're back at the BART station. Have fun! Pace yourself!

POPSUganda Anti-Gay Seminar
Just in case you didn't get it, this is known as confirming your sources, so that you can speak with some authority. There is very definitely a conservative christian movement within the U.S. that supports punishment, imprisonment and other means of disenfranchisement for LBGT people on an international level as well as domestic. More from the article below: But Dr. Warren Throckmorton, associate professor of Psychology at Grove City College in Pennsylvania, finds it troubling that the American Christian leaders spoke at a conference that supports the criminalization of homosexuality and that none of them had reportedly publicly opposed the law. He noted that the people in charge of the conference called for stricter enforcement of laws against homosexuality. “It is illegal to be homosexual in Uganda. There’s also a category of homosexuality (act) that has a potential for life imprisonment,” said Throckmorton to The Christian Post on Wednesday. “How often it is enforced is not cle

POPSU.S Christian Right Pushes Death Penalty For LGBTs
If they can't legally kill non-heteros and their friends in the U.S., they'll try to see that it happens somewhere else. More from yhe article, below: " The speakers were Don Schmierer, a board member at Exodus International; Scott Lively, president of Abiding Truth Ministries and author of a book that equates Nazism and homosexuality; and Caleb Lee Brundidge who works at the International Healing Foundation which ostensibly "cures" homosexuals. "They told us all things are going wrong because the family is being neglected. Not having more children is one of the things that they said are going wrong. Homosexuality is a way of stopping us from having more children," said Senyonjo. "The law forces Ugandans to spy on each other because you can be punished if you don’t report suspected homosexuals to the police," said Senyonjo. The problem of patriarchy is even more urgent than addressing fundamentalism in the church, Oberholzer told IPS. "LGBTI rights and women’s rights go hand in
