POPSFreedom missing in government health laws I can see vaccinating foreigners against some diseases, but shoving a brand new vaccine, that doesn't even give real protection, is unreal. What the heck has happened to us America? Since when do people that are paid by pharmaceutical companies have enough power to force us to be their guinea pigs? Why don't we care about the girls murdered by this vaccine? Insanity at its finest

POPSGood Intentions or Campaign contributions? One of the lead researchers into making the HPV vaccine, doesn't think we should be mandating this for children. Which legislator who is forcing these vaccines on our children will be willing to comfort the parents of the dead ones? (already 30 and counting). I've read a lot about this vaccine, and the death toll and other horrible disease count is climbing. Yet, more and more states just keep adding more and more unproven vaccines as mandatory. Makes you wonder if public health or campaign contributions are the leading reason. Two of the states were the vaccine is mandatory for 11 year old girls had governors who received MILLIONS from Merck in their campaigns. I'm sick of my child being a guinea pig for the government and a vehicle for record profits (and taxes of course).

POPSOne Less: Despite State Mandates There Are Still Concerns About HPV Vaccine And now Merck is trying to get states to mandate the vaccine for boys. My concern is the push to force vaccinate for a non-communicable disease or rather for a disease that is not transmitted via casual contact (like measles or even the common cold). Yet Merck has been trying (and has been successful in some states) in making this vaccine mandatory for our daughters to attend school, despite the risks that are still not completely known.

POPSTheStreet.com: Homeland Security Requires Gardasil Shots For Immigrants TheStreet.com has a really nice piece about a rather strange decision by the Department of Homeland Security to require immigrants to get a Gardasil shot -- although not the complete course required for full immunity. In the story, Gardasil maker Merck says it is not aware of the department's policies. Click the link for more.

POPS"Deep" Itch to save your Life. Cancer!
“I just can’t stop scratching! Sometimes the itch is in other areas, but mostly it’s down there.” She pointed to a place on her lower back. “I have to claw at it all the time, and it doesn’t ease up. It’s a different kind of itch, like I’m getting eaten up on the inside.” I examined the area, but it was remarkable only for its scratch marks. I reviewed her history. No diabetes, no recent bites, no hives, no recent infections, no new drugs or allergies, and no change in her emotional state that might account for this malady. Greta also said she had no liver, gall bladder, or kidney disease. She was not a drinker, smoker, or drug user. She had suffered with this persistent itch for almost a year and had never had any symptoms like it before. For the first few months that she experienced the itch, she was pregnant with her second child. “This didn’t happen the first time. I figured maybe it was just something that happens. But then after I had the baby it kept going on,” she said.

POPSOn Promiscuity, Shame, Stigma, and STDS
"Oh wait, yes I have, I have heard it applied to gay men and that is why they were visited by the “gay plague” which they deserved because all gay men fuck each other randomly as often as they can without protection. Because gay men are sexual deviants, right? Now, on the one hand, we have this heterosexual culture that is telling women to lighten up about sex. That we shouldn’t ask that our partners remain faithful, that we should be fine with them having multiple lovers. (How many arguments have I had over that one?) That real women are empowered by their sexuality, that we can fuck as good and as hard as the boys. That we can express ourselves through our sexuality. That we can define ourselves through our sexuality. This is what it means now to be a real, modern, heterosexual or bi-curious for the boys woman. So why is having an STD / STI such a big deal? Why does the topic make people so uncomfortable? Why is it that I could tell someone I have viral meningitis" (cont)

POPSCancer causing sex (multiple lovers) In this article they go on to encourage the use of condoms during oral sex. You say "!WHAT?!" ; that's right condoms in the mouth, yuk. Look, No one is opposed to any effort made to encourage people to protect themselves from disease and clamor. However, when are they going to mention the fact that if you didn't stick your face into everyones crotch, Then You Wouldn't Get HPV of the throat or throat cancer from HPV? Again, it's the first lesson I learned from YH, "Hand on hot stove = Burned hand". http://OkieLogic.com
