POPSPolar Bears are not dying out, say scientists in book on popular 'scare stories' Interesting list of scare stories. The most contentious stories concern global warming, CO2 levels and artic animals dying out as a result. Some others are: ‘The Gulf Stream is not under threat’, I never heard about this one. ‘Organic food is no better for you’, claims that since plant nutrients comes from the air there really is no such thing as ‘organic food. ‘We do not know what causes heart disease’, cholesterol levels are not a factor in heart disease. Many of these ‘debunked’ stories require more research and this clip does not provide any links. So have fun with it.

POPSQuality Assurance in health Screenings As with any non-invasive imaging technology, we will have some level of false positives. This is inevitable, whether we perform your test or it is performed in a hospital or other clinical environment. Our goal is to adhere to, or out-perform, industry standards when it comes to false positives. More importantly, we are focused on eliminating false negatives. Non-invasive studies that correlate with the gold standard (fully invasive diagnostic studies, requiring time at a hospital) 90% or more of the time are considered excellent.

POPSPeripheral Artery Disease (PAD) Peripheral Artery Disease occurs as the arteries in the legs narrow and harden (atherosclerosis). This serious disease is most commonly caused by plaque build-up which can restrict blood flow and cause pain when walking. If left untreated, PAD can cause gangrene and amputation. Additionally, people with PAD are likely to have blocked arteries in other areas of the body, making them 4-6 times more likely to die from Stroke or Heart Attack.
