EPA Fails to Inform Public About Weed-Killer in Drinking Water
disenchantedcitizen
by disenchantedcitizen  8-24-2009
Ah hell, let’s add the EPA to the list of evil corporations as well. Atrazine has become an issue of concern for environmentalists and consumer groups as the use of the herbicide has soared in the United States over the past few decades. "It is the responsibility of the EPA and Syngenta to inform the public of accurate levels of atrazine in their drinking water," said Jason Rohr, a specialist in ecotoxicology at the University of South Florida who studies the effects of atrazine in animals, and who served on the EPA's atrazine panel this past spring. No wonder Americans are getting fed up with what our government is doing and not doing. They are allowing corporations to poison us by allowing them to escape responsibility, they are allowing the EPA to not warn us of chemical poisoning. What is next? A healthcare system designed to cover up the causes of illnesses created by these ‘evil corporations’?

Recently at a townhall, when a woman asked whether she would have been able to get a pacemaker for her 99 y/o mother, Obama responded by saying her mother could have just taken painkillers (re: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U-dQfb8WQvo ). This illustrates what a lot of people have started to realize about Obama: He’s a moron. That’s why his health care plans are not winning popular support; from his handling of the economy people know he’s a moron and they know health care will only be made worse. They worry if they let Obama loose in a hospital, he’ll eat all the lollipops, chew on the wiring, and get a bio-hazard bucket stuck on his head. And if Obama chases a ball into traffic, a spare moron, Biden, is waiting. Govt. is full of morons who couldn’t make in the private sector just waiting to get their stupid on everything. You don’t want your life in their hands. What Republicans need to do is just keep Obama away from important things so he doesn’t hurt himself and others.

'Green' lightbulbs poison workers
billpar
by billpar  5-12-2009
I've tried these bulbs and they are supposed to have a much longer life, however I've gone through many of these expensive bulbs because they don't last like they are supposed to. I also didn't like the idea of my toddler being exposed to Mercury if a bulb breaks, so I've gone back to standard light bulbs, although I refuse to by GE bulbs because of the reports that at one point they were funneling weapons to Iran which were being used against our troops.

First off, what exactly is the "health & saftey risk" associated with wearing a necklace? Ok, the parents & student in this case knew what the rules were & broke them anyway. If you are going to break the rules (even if they are stupid), you must be willing to suffer the consequences. Personally, I think this is a bit discrimanatory however, if she were my child, I would tell her to do as the school says & wear it as a lapel pin. I still think it is wrong but the school is trying to come up with an alternative while keeping with the school policy. However, this "little thing" along with so many others in Britian & the world seem to be snowballing.

Wow! This is just dirty! I hate it when people eat at their desks... more so if they don't wash their hands after eating, or eat oily/fried stuff while typing... Just disgusting! What's interesting though, is that the study says "compared to men, on average women have three to four times the amount of germs in, on and around their work area". ! Who'd ever think that possible!? heh

Pentagon Knowingly Exposed U.S. Soldiers To Toxic Waste: Leaked Memo

In my professional opinion, there is an acute health hazard for individuals. There is also the possibility for chronic health hazards associated with the smoke; thus the information is being made a permanent part of each Airman's medical record. I base this assessment on the data that I have reviewed and on-site smoke plume assessments (boots on the ground).

water becomes you
chara
by chara  2-13-2009
Energized water has had its molecules returned to their original life-giving, super moisturizing state. This allows maximum moisture absorption into the cells of your body, pets and plants; a major key to healing, and the maintenance of health and vitality. Dr. Emoto has revealed to the world the power of water's vibration. Take the next step and bring this transformation into your life and into your part of the world by naturally structuring your water. To learn more about transforming water, treat water, as alive and highly responsive to emotions and thoughts.

Our Trash Circles the Globe: Combating E-Waste in India
urbanlife
by urbanlife  6-18-2008
The fruits of our high-tech revolution are pure poison if these products are improperly disposed of at the end of their useful life. The electronics industry is on the brink of a paradigm shift with respect to cost avoidance v/s risk avoidance. Firms such as Eco-Reco are taking advantage of a booming but hazardous industry, where e-waste is usually dismantled by workers with little protection in recycling plants that have even fewer safety and environmental contamination guidelines. In Mumbai, Eco-Reco will pick up your e-waste and at their plant, the e-waste then goes through a shredder on a conveyor belt, and the components are separated by a metal extractor. Workers then break up the plastic from the metal by hand. The entire system is based on the principles of clean environment and zero landfill.
