Dying from work... as in US Military? (Or more like David Kelly?) Walking down the street... as in being "disappeared"? Accidental drowning... as in waterboarding? Hmm... well thank heavens at least the billions of $$$ spent have made us safe from "terrorists".:)

POPSTexas cop uses Taser on 72-year-old great grandmother
Ooh, her use of profanity made him fear for his safety. What is this guy a freaking nancy-boy? I’ll bet he let a lot of drivers go by and chose her because she looked ‘safe’. Part of the responsibility for so many people basically blatantly ignoring speed limit signs falls on the cops themselves. They randomly enforce speed limits. I have witnessed speeders driving past police officers who do nothing. I have witnessed police officers driving over the speed limit and I can truthfully say there was no apparent reason for them to do so, because further down the road I would again see them driving along with the crowd. The lackadaisical enforcement gives drivers a false sense that they will not be ticketed and then along comes an officer who may have been bored or pushed by his municipality to raise money. They need to be serious about enforcement or continue to allow drivers to do whatever they please, just as they have for quite some time now.

POPS"New 'Stealth' Racism" in Jena, Louisiana.
The town has gained international notoriety for the alleged "new 'stealth' racism" that lives on in America with national attention drawn to the events by prime time radio story Intimidation cited includes an incident in which a white student brandished a gun at a convenience store after a verbal exchange. Students allegedly wrestled away the gun and were then held in custody and charged with theft while no charges were made against the white student. On the first day of trial for Bell, one of the defendants, the prosecutor agreed to reduce the charges for Bell to aggravated second-degree battery and conspiracy to commit aggravated second-degree battery. Bell was found guilty by an all-white jury, and will face the possibility of up to 22 years in prison. The sentencing was originally scheduled for July 30, but has been delayed until Sept 20 It's currently in dispute, as the public defender did not call a single witness to defend Bell. The other 5 students will be tried at a late

POPSEvicted for Reporting Domestic Abuse To add insult to injury, this past July Cleaves-Milan received a call from a collection agency seeking nearly $3,800 they claimed she owed for the early termination of her lease. She returned home a day after telling police her boyfriend threatened to kill her to find a 10-day eviction notice taped to her door. She didn't terminate her lease early – she was given no choice in the matter. Luckily Aimco dropped this fee, but only after the Chicago Tribune inquired. This story is horrific and unfortunately not uncommon. While the Violence Against Women Act of 2005 protects domestic abuse victims who live in public or subsidized housing from eviction, the law concerning private landlords is unclear. This lack of protection for women who rent in the private market creates a disincentive for women to report abuse, trapping women, and often their children, in violent relationships with no legal recourse.

POPSWisconsin Man Arrested for Breaking No Law The fact is that Wis. Stat. § 941.23 does not ban or prohibit the lawful carrying of firearms by citizens. By enacting the law, the legislature intended to force citizens to openly carry their firearms while in public, which is what Mr. Krause was lawfully doing (additionally, he was on his own property).

POPSNaked Man Dies After Being Tasered The man's identity has not been released. A video crew at the scene reported that law enforcement officers talking via radio described the man as under the influence of PCP. According to an Amnesty International report in December, 334 people shocked with Tasers by law enforcement died in the U.S. between June 2001 and August 2008. Most of the deaths were attributed to factors such as drug intoxication, however, medical examiners and coroners concluded that Taser shocks caused or contributed to at least 50 of the 334 deaths. California and Florida were the states with the highest numbers of law-enforcement-related Taser deaths during the seven-year period under study -- 55 and 52, respectivel

POPSHidden Casualties of US Meltdown <<<Right now, there are no real counts of the many extreme acts born of the financial crisis, but assuredly other murders, suicides, self-inflicted injuries, acts of arson and of armed self-defense have simply gone unnoticed outside of economically hard-hit neighborhoods in cities and small towns across America. With no end in sight for either the foreclosures or the economic turmoil, Americans may have to brace themselves for many more casualties on the home front. Unless extreme economic steps, like mortgage- and debt- forgiveness, are implemented, the number of extreme acts and the ultimate body count may be far more extreme than anyone yet wants to contemplate.>>>

POPSWhat's A Posse Comitatus? And before people jump the Obama gun, this is happening right now, Dec. 2 2008: President George W. Bush. Question is will Obama continue the program? The dangers of standing armies exist regardless of who is in the White House. Once they have the power they will not give it up.

POPSHillary Clinton's felony Oh, I am shocked that Hillary Clinton would actually do anything like this. NOT! The Clintons have committed so many crimes and have gone unpunished. I wonder how long this guy with videotape will be allowed to live?

POPSJose, Maximo Colon Turn Tables On NYPD With Videotape On May 13, another NYPD officer was arrested for plotting to invade a Manhattan apartment where he hoped to steal $900,000 in drug money. In another pending case, prosecutors in Brooklyn say officers were caught in a 2007 sting using seized drugs to reward a snitch for information. And in the Bronx, prosecutors have charged a detective with lying about a drug bust captured on a surveillance tape that contradicts her story. Elsewhere, Philadelphia prosecutors dismissed more than a dozen drug and gun charges against a man last month when a narcotics officer was accused of making up information on search warrants.

POPSU.S. Invades Syria: Kills 1 "Terrorist", 8 Civilians, 3 children
1. invading a foreign country, 2. kill ratio 1:8, as usual, more civilians than alleged "terrorist", 3 of which were innocent children! Is this an acceptable kill ratio to be consider moral and just? Was this: a) "Collateral damage", entirely justified b) gross negligence and murder c) unjust attack and invasion, violating all rules of just warfare and "rules of engagement" (unarmed civilians) d) b and c Consider that this was done with soldiers, not a spy drone, which had to have sited the children in their gun sights for at least a moment, and were firing with gross negligence at anything that moved. Can they tell the difference between children and men? Can they tell the difference between unarmed men (civilians) and combatants? Or is it "just kill them all" because we are afraid, even though we are armed to the teeth? THIS WAS A SLAUGHTER. This was murder and invasion, and done without permission or notice to Syria, which the neocons want war with.

POPSI know I could be shot down for saying this.... ....but bearing arms should not be a right. Reading this article even skimming it, the obvious truth just jumps out at you. More guns just do not make people safer. More guns brings more guns and death. Why is this so hard to fathom? Look at countries that do not have the right to bear arms willi-nilly. See their crime rate and safety. We are fast down the slippery slope and only picking up speed.

POPSWay To Go Montana ! The state of Montana has signed into power a revolutionary gun law. I mean REVOLUTIONARY . Important Points - If guns and ammunition are manufactured inside the State of Montana for sale and use inside that state then the federal firearms laws have no applicability since the federal government only has the power to control commerce across state lines. Montana has the law on their side. Since when did the USA start following their own laws especially the constitution of the USA , the very document that empowers the USA . POPSHigher rate of gun ownership does not mean higher violent crime rate Some more: "The reason that gun ownership doesn't correlate with murder rates, the authors show, is that violent crime rates are determined instead by underlying cultural factors. "Ordinary people," they note, "simply do not murder." Rather, "the murderers are a small minority of extreme antisocial aberrants who manage to obtain guns whatever the level of gun ownership" in their society."

POPSScore? Gazans: 1; Israelis: 220 [now 280] As usual Hamas did something stupid but mostly non-lethal. As usual, Israel reacted with unjustifiable, illegal mass murder of civilians, most of whom have nothing to do with the pop-gun rockets Hamas shoots. The IDF reminds me of the Nazis in occupied Norway.

POPSInterviews: Proof of soldiers Abuse against Arabs "We were in a weapon carrier when this guy, around 25, passed by in the street, and just like that, for no reason, he didn't throw a stone, did nothing - bang, a bullet in the stomach - he shot him in the stomach and the guy is dying on the sidewalk and we keep going, apathetic. No one gave him a second look." An ideology developed that even minor events necessitated a brutal response. "A 3-year-old kid, he can't throw, he can't hurt you no matter what he does, but a kid of 19 can. With women I have no problem. With women, one threw a clog at me and I kicked her here , I broke everything there. She can't have children. Next time she won't throw clogs at me. When one of them spat at me I gave her the rifle butt in the face. She doesn't have what to spit with anymore." Some of them to cover up for their friends, even if they stole from homes where they conducted searches or sexually harassed or provoked Arab women. ...Haaretz

POPSConservative Dictionary...understanding right-wing lingo "While surfing the Web, you may come upon many conservative-oriented pages. They use their own lingo, which can be confusing to outsiders. To aid you in your perusal of right wing web resources, here is a concise glossary of some terms they use. Standard disclaimers apply: "I know all conservatives aren't Nazis, my best friends are conservative, really, blah, blah, blah...""

POPSReligions Effect on Children When Richard Dawkins described religion as a form of child abuse he was roundly criticized. In this short clip we are witness to children (10 and 14 years old) who are "willing to die for Islam". I'd like to hear how Dawkins critics rationalize that.
