POPSBaptist Church to Burn Bibles This one certainly belongs in the LOONY BIN because of the bazaar reasoning of this apparently misguided congregation. I wish I could say that this is an isolated case but I know far too many "KING JAMES ONLY" adherents who would probably applaud this behavior. In my post To King James or Not to King James I wrote at great length on this issue. There has been an ongoing controversy surrounding this issue, but the way this old bird sees things, the crazy antics of this Baptist church makes me wonder if reading the KING JAMES bible causes otherwise rational people to loose all reason. This pastor and his 14 followers have certainly flown over the cuckoos nest. And that is how I see it! Eagle Out!

POPSThe absurd debate over President Obama's Nobel Prize More: The problem for the addlebrained Obama-rejectionists is that the president, as far as they are concerned, couldn't possibly do anything right and thus is unworthy of any conceivable recognition. If Obama ended all hunger in the world, they'd accuse him of promoting obesity. If he solved global warming, they'd complain it was getting chilly. If he got Mahmoud Abbas and Binyamin Netanyahu to join him around the campfire in a chorus of "Kumbaya," the rejectionists would claim that his singing was out of tune.

POPSOops, He Did It Again: John Edwards Continues His Epic Fall From Grace This should be a lesson to everyone in Washington. Admit your role and your party's role in the corruption that is all around you. People are tired of being lied to and bill's being written by special interests that are shoved down our throats. Get rid of the deep seeded corruption around you and maybe the American people will actually re-elect you. Otherwise, it doesn't look too good for any incumbent. Now that the average American is paying attention, it will take more than sound bytes and large campaign funds. More than ever, accountability and integrity are required. It's time to come clean with the American People you are supposed to represent. Stepping down off my soap box now.

POPSTime Chrystallized Howard Schatz, courtesy of Sony World Photography Awards 2009 Some images are so expressive that time seems to stand still, and nowhere is this more so than in the work of virtuoso fine art photographer Howard Schatz. Schatz’s photography fabulously captures the elegance of the human form, and his Motion Study series gives the grace with which the body can move a uniquely mesmerizing dimension. Moments in time are protracted and preserved – crystallized alongside one another in captivating fragments. The effects are spellbinding, as we appreciate the finely tuned abilities of athletes performing at their peak. Above, energy is coiled and then released in an amazing spiral-patterned image of a golfer’s swing.
