POPSUm, Kenya? You guys OK? Finishing fourth in the men's category was another American, Ryan Hall. Hall, 27, is a rising star on the world running circuit and made headlines last year by running the London marathon in a stunning 2:06:17. Americans once dominated long-distance running, bringing home consecutive gold medals from 1970-82. Marathon legend Bill Rodgers won the New York City four years in a row from 1976 to 1979, and Alberto Salazar took walked away with successive victories from 1980-82. The marathon, which began in 1970 with a mere 127 runners, now hosts 38,000 athletes from around the globe, according to the marathon's Web site. Known for its diverse, punishing terrain, the annual event spans all five of New York's City's boroughs, finishing in the heart of Central Park. Keflezighi and Tulu will each receive $130,000 in prize money.

POPS"Computed: The world's most beautiful woman" more: Kleb's team spent six months deciding on the most perfect female ears, before finally choosing those of Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie as the best in the world. The lovely Lindsay Lohan was selected as having the most perfect nose, while Bernice's golden-blonde hair came from Jennifer Aniston. The hypothetical super-beauty's cheeks are based on those of Halle Berry. "Halle's surname is Berry, but her cheeks are like two lovely ripe apples," quipped Kleb. And for a mouth? "There we went old school," said Kleb. "Our analysis showed that the most perfect mouth belonged to none other than Marilyn Monroe." The final composite, pictured below, has now been revealed to the public for the first time. The McGill team will continue their work, to give Bernice a body that will match her beautiful face. "I can't say too much," said Kleb, "but I will tell you that the left breast belongs to Scarlett Johansson.

POPSFans Flock to Mourn California, 1849-2009 ~ by Iowahawk
Even a frightening bout with tremors did not stop the flow of hits. The 1915 megasmash ‘Hollywood’ broke all records, as did the wartime favorite ‘Aerospace.’ More recently, California topped the charts with ‘Tourism,’ ‘High Tech,’ and ‘Coastal Pretension.’ For a time it seemed as if the superstar could do no wrong, but behind the glittering facade of Disneyland Manor troubling signs of mental instability began to emerge. The state developed a well-publicized drug problem during filming of 1967’s ‘Summer of Love,’ and briefly dabbled in strange religious cults. Under the influence of spiritual guru Jerry Brown, it began wholesale experimentation in exotic spending programs, eventual resulting in a traumatic 1979 stay at the Prop 13 Rehab Center. During the 80’s and 90’s California enjoyed a brief career renaissance with hits like ‘Olympics,’ ‘Real Estate’ and ‘Dot Com Boom,’ but personal problems plagued the reclusive star once again.

POPSEvery sip you take: Singer Sting is selling wine "I also wanted to use agriculture with practices that would nourish the land and not deplete the land and so we went to traditional methods with farming, we got rid of pesticides, we shunned monoculture, and it works, the farm is also a garden," he said in the remarks broadcast by local television Rtv38. Rossi did not reveal the name of the upcoming wine. He said it will be a 2007 vintage based on the Sangiovese grape, with a touch of Cabernet and Merlot. A 2008 Chianti could also go on sale in the fall, but tests on the wine's aging must be conducted before a decision is made, Rossi told The Associated Press by telephone. The wine, along with other products made on the Sting farm, will also be available at a shop on the property that the singer will inaugurate by June, Rossi said.

POPS'The War Is Not a Game:' Gold Star Families Speak Out Expresses Outrage at Video Game
"Just as Sony abandoned plans to launch a video game called Shock & Awe in 2003, Konami Atomic games should cancel their plans to release 'Six Days in Fallujah' before they instill more thoughtless pain on anyone" GSFSO member Joanna Polisena, sister of Army Staff Sergeant Edward Carman, Killed in Action in Iraq on April 17, 2004 added "When our loved one's 'health meter' dropped to '0', they didn't get to 'retry' the mission. When they took a bullet, they didn't just get to pick up a health pack and keep 'playing'...they suffered, they cried, they died. We - their parents, siblings, spouses, children and friends - absolutely find it disgusting and repulsive that those so far detached (and clinging to denial of reality) find it so easy to poke fun at such a thing." Joan Maymi, whose nephew, Captain Ernesto Manuel Blanco-Caldas, was Killed in Action in Iraq on December 28, 2003 said, "Unless you have suffered the death of loved one like we have, or are caring for the ones who have

POPSChinese Firefighters Film UFO continues: The photo below is a verified still from the footage that our source has sent us. We believe a film should soon be available for veiwing and will post a link as soon as this occurs. The UFO corresponds to the craft often described in sightings around the word as a ‘diamond UFO’. These craft are usually seen at great heights and almost never seen on earth itself. This has lead some to believe they are highly evolved technology well beyond your ‘standard’ saucer and might be used to travel from other civilized planets rather merely used to explore planets like earth after exiting a more substantial mother ship.

POPSLondon's mayor says Britain is not broken The current political mood of Britain is irrational. The government is suffering from the Mother of all Swings of the Pendulum. I think time is the only healer here. On September 28th one international commentator said that "Gordon Brown is the star of the UN". Yet he is villified in his own country, explain on one side of A4.

POPSChe's Children seek respect not money A man who fought and died trying to overthrow capitalism and material excess should not be used to sell British vodka, French fizzy drinks and Swiss mobile phones, among other travesties, she said. "We don't want money, we demand respect." Aleida, 47, the eldest of Guevara's four children by his second wife, made the comments during an internet forum sponsored by Cuba's government ahead of what would have been her father's 80th birthday on June 14. The complaint came amid a surge of renewed interest in Guevara. The actor Benicio del Toro won best actor at the Cannes Film Festival this month for his portrayal in Steven Soderbergh's four and a half hour epic Che. Camilo Guevara, a son, who participated in the forum, said he welcomed the film as long as it was faithful to his father's memory.
