POPSOakland's Peerless Coffee is still going strong More: Peerless' cupping room, in fact, might be the most charming around, with the same furniture that John Vukasinovich used decades ago lining its cramped quarters, along with a shiny new spittoon - essential for cupping. "We thought for hygienic purposes, we should retire the old one," jokes George Jr. Perhaps it will last into the next generation - there's already a fourth in the wings. Will Kristina's oldest son, 7-year-old John William, become the family's next great cupper? "I hope," George Jr. says with smile. "Bring him on."

POPSHomemade furniture polish I started replacing household cleansers with homemade stuff a few months ago and don’t plan on going back to the chemical soup that we have been led to believe we simply must have. To clean windows and countertops use water, vinegar, and dish detergent, for example. I just used this recipe for furniture polish yesterday and it really works. More DIY tips can be found at the site as well as at Tipnut http://tipnut.com/ and TURI http://www.turi.org/turi_lab/do_it_yourself_home_made_household_cleaner_recipes I believe the fewer chemicals we use in our everyday life the better off we are.

POPSRandom Thoughts One good turn gets most of the blankets. There are two kinds of pedestrians -- the quick and the dead. If quitters never win, and winners never cheat, then who is the fool who said "Quit while you're ahead"? Marriage is the triumph of imagination over intelligence. Second marriage is the triumph of hope over experience. I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not sure. What happens if you get scared half to death twice? Multitasking: Screwing up several things at once. Artificial intelligence is no match for natural stupidity.

POPSCoworkers Find They're Long Lost Brothers more: Randy, the older brother, was the one who first had a hunch they may have been related. "People are saying we look like brothers, and we go on deliveries together for the last month and a half and we keep getting it" Randy said. He had recently dug up some information about his adoption and discovered that he had a brother who was born on June 10, 1974 -- Gary's birthday. For two weeks the two kept the news to themselves, but last week they shared their story withco-workers. Owner Lisa Dow says she cried when one of the brothers told her, "I would have never found him if you didn't hire me to work here." Gary and Randy are still in disbelief. "I've been riding around with this guy for a month and a half and he's my full blooded brother," Randy said shaking his head.

POPSFurniture store worker discovers new hire is his long-lost brother
More: Well armed with details, Joubert posed a few questions to Nisbet while the two were making deliveries about three weeks ago. "I said, 'Gary, I'm going to ask you a strange question: Are you adopted?'" Joubert recalled. Nisbet gave him a strange look and answered, yes, he was adopted. Then Joubert asked whether Nisbet knew his parents' names. Nisbet, who had learned details of his adoption through a court request, again answered yes. Joubert recited the couple's names — only to meet a mixed reaction of amazement and annoyance. "He takes off his hat and says, 'How did you know that?'" Joubert recalled. When Joubert asked about Nisbet's birth date, June 10, 1974, he knew he had found his long-lost brother. "I about fell over," he said, "because I knew that date." Nisbet… said he was "star-struck and blown away. I couldn't even believe it." He was raised with three brothers and a sister in his adoptive family but never knew he had a biological brother.[/

POPSThe French Revolution Is Just Getting Started “The bosses caused the crisis, let them pay for it!” said another, while a third declared: “Hands off our public services!” Protesters marched peacefully from the Place de la Bastille in the east of the city to the Place de l’Opera in the west, where skirmishes erupted between dozens of bottle-throwing youths and police in riot gear. Officers repeatedly baton-charged a group of young men who tried to peel away from the demonstration and march towards Sarkozy’s official residence, the Elysee Palace, burning dustbins and smashing street furniture. The demonstrators were tear-gassed and pushed back into streets lined with cinemas and restaurants, where they attempted to set up a road-block of burning bins and overturned at least one car and set it alight.

POPSList of Co.'s Who've Bent to White House Pressure Let them know (email, phone) that it is their dropping of Beck/FOX ads that is the reason for no longer patronizing them. Remember, one side's boycott doesn't have to "outrank" the other side's in terms of lost sales revenue, it is the combined total that resulted from the company's ever responding to the political controversy in the first place. Including the rest of this list (G-Z0 this is an awful lot of co.'s. If it's easier just boycott everything General Electric. Then that includes a lot of co.'s as well.

You will connect all your numbers altogether with easy management and making calls from your contact books, even abroad, from any computer or iPod touch. It's look even more promising, than Skype, which after last Apple's update simply refuse to open and aborting at each attempt to use it. Skype on iPhone doesn't work, God knows why, even thru Wi-Fi. Even their own iPhone's headphones messed up, no telling about outside Bluetooth devices. Google "pretend" to be people's servant, not ripping-off crook from side of the road.

POPSA Shocked Woman's Home Was Auctioned To the Highest Bidder
"I have never seen anything like it," Taylor said. "They literally threw all her stuff on the front lawn. I didn't sleep that night and it wasn't even my house." Ramirez and her family had three hours to get out of the house, police ordered. They had to stash their belongings at multiple locations and shacked up with a friend for the night as cops chained the doors of their home. With Taylor's help, Ramirez appeared before a judge two days later to explain what happened. "I had all my stuff scattered everywhere," she said. "They did this in front all my neighbors. It was so embarassing." A mistake in the Miami-Dade Clerk's Office appears to be behind the mishap, which landed Ramirez homeless for more than 24 hours. The sale was eventually reversed by a Miami-Dade judge, allowing Ramirez to return to her old digs. Ramirez said she wants to sue for the damage to her furniture. Ramirez has lived in the house for three years and recently refinanced the home with the bank.

POPSIs Your Furniture Killing You? (literally) Nothing shocks me anymore. I'm surprised I'm not already in my grave. Still, we should be aware of these issues; especially the elderly, small children, and those with immune system deficiencies.
