Bad Economy Benefits Some Animals
kkcapricorn
by kkcapricorn  Yesterday 12:45 PM
Private groups involved in wilderness preservation are also benefiting from the economic situation. They too are buying up real estate that's being sold below its appraised value. Groups like Save Mount Diablo are buying such properties, which they plan to turn over to local or state park districts.

Unity at Last: Democrats Join Calls for Napolitano to Step Down Following Failed Attack
Antara
by Antara  1-1-2010    1
" New Jersey State Senate President Richard Codey, a Democrat, wrote a letter to Napolitano this week calling on her to step down. He said Napolitano, an attorney and former Arizona governor, does not have the experience for the post she is in. "We should have someone who doesn't need to go in there and learn about terrorism, learn about security," Codey told Fox News. " Ok, well, if Codey really means that, shouldn't OBAMA be on his way as well???

in the bathroom of a Detroit-bound Northwest Airlines flight on Sunday. Several police vehicles and a police command unit have surrounded a plane at Detroit’s Metro Airport, after the pilot of a Detroit-bound Northwest Airlines flight requested emergency help. Two sources tell Fox News that the suspect boarded a plan in Lagos with no baggage, and said the FBI has already sent an email alert to other federal agencies notifying them of the incident. The source said the man taken into custody at the Detroit airport was a Nigerian man in his 30s. Federal officials know who the suspect is, but won’t provide any more details. He allegedly barricaded himself in the plane’s bathroom for an hour. There are some reports suggesting that the Nigerian man may have just been a sick passenger. Why the hell would anyone travel international so light? No luggage should have been the first red flag. http://deadenders.wordpress.com/

I saw some undercover clips of the partying on Fox and heard this story. This all says a lot about the current culture and seriousness in the minds of those who are paid (nicely) to see that our citizens are safe while they fly in our skies. Forget the parties, the bonuses for CEOs and "managers"; instead let's pay the scanners, the mechanics, and builders of our planes what they're really worth.

I’ve always been a fan of Mr. Rogers. His trip around the world on a Motorcycle is an experience in itself. What an adventure that must have been. As for Bernanke and Greenspan, Jim is so correct. Bernanke is just one of many from Goldman Sachs that now is part of the Obama the Joker administration. Bernanke is just helping out his fat cat friends the same that Obama claims to be opposed to. What a charade. I love Jim Rogers sense of humour , I usually follow all his interviews from this blog http://www.JimRogers.tk

Cross The River, Burn The Bridge by Mark Steyn

There is no reason on earth why Nebraska should be the only state in this Union to have every dime of its increased Medicare tab picked up by the 49 others. So either that privilege will be extended to all, or to favored others, or its asymmetry will be balanced by other precisely targeted lollipops hither and yon. Whatever happens, it’s a dagger at the heart of American federalism, just as the bill’s magisterial proclamation that the Independent Medicare Advisory Board can only be abolished by a two-thirds vote of the Senate strikes at one of the most basic principles of a free society " that no parliament can bind its successors. These details are obnoxious not merely in and of themselves but because they tell us the truth about where we’re headed: Think of the way almost every Big Government project bursts its bodice and winds up bigger and more bloated than its creators allegedly foresaw. In this instance, the stays come pre-loosened, and studded with loopholes.

The Israeli Crime Syndicate Exposed, Human Organs Trafficking
blueridge
by blueridge  12-25-2009
Now link this story to the FBI arrests of the Rabbis in New Jersey last year ( reported by FOX News here ) and you have a larger picture of the Israeli crime syndicate involved in this illegal human organ trafficking from both sides. authorities say, he brokered the sale of black-market kidneys, buying organs from vulnerable people from Israel for $10,000 and selling them to desperate patients in the U.S. for as much as $160,000. Will Israel be reprimanded and will the FBI arrest more of this Israeli syndicate?

Sacramento-area farmers grow heirloom wheat
Lexica
by Lexica  12-24-2009    2
More: Sonora wheat was once one of the most popular wheat varieties grown in one of the biggest wheat states in America—California. In fact, Sonora wheat from California was considered of such high quality that most of it was exported to England. The change to hammermill processing, and the corresponding change to wheat types that grow well in Midwestern conditions, were a factor in the demise of California wheat farming. Midwestern wheat is generally higher in phytates, which are bitter to the taste, which was an issue for Fox. “I hated whole wheat. It was bitter and awful, and I really preferred spelt. But I went crazy for this wheat,” she says. Fox promptly began growing Sonora wheat for seed, and just eight years later, she estimates that there are at least 15 farmers in the greater Sacramento area growing this variety, including Full Belly Farm, which offers flour from Sonora wheat at farmers’ markets and through their community-supported agriculture boxes.

The deal is for Ben Nelson, forever and forever, Amen. Forever and ever and only for Nebraska! Nebraska will never have to pick up an share of the Medicaid amount due because Ben Nelson sold his soul. As stated on Fox, this is going to outrage an awful lot of people. The response, it already has. How can states that may already be in fiscal trouble be responsible to pay for another states Medicaid obligation. FOREVER!!! Read the text of the bill at Big Government.com (http://bit.ly/8gOike) where every other state in the United States will have to pay for Nebraska’s Medicaid. “As part of the deal to win Democratic Sen. Ben Nelson’s support, the federal government will fund Nebraska’s new Medicaid recipients. It’s a provision worth about $45 million over the first decade.” (Chris Frates, “Ben Nelson’s Medicaid deal,” Politico, 12/19/09)

North Carolina recently has had its share of negative publicity. Ridicule is an excellent tool for changing perspective concerning silly laws. One wonders about the competence of the lawmakers in SC.

Sanders: "As of this point, I'm not voting for the bill"
merrie
by merrie  12-17-2009
Sanders Will Not Support Current Bill In an interview on Fox Business News, Sen. Bernie Sanders said he's not ready to vote for the current Senate health care reform bill. Said Sanders: "I'm struggling with this. As of this point, I'm not voting for the bill... I'm going to do my best to make this bill a better bill, a bill that I can vote for, but I've indicated both to the White House and the Democratic leadership that my vote is not secure at this point. And here is the reason. When the public option was withdrawn, because of Lieberman's action, what I worry about is how do you control escalating health care costs?"   the White House is flirting with the possibility of taking action without Congress. Last week, on the day the climate summit opened in Denmark, the EPA formally declared that greenhouse gases including carbon dioxide are a danger to human health -- a finding that could pave the way for massive new regulations under the Clean Air Act for cars, power plants, crude-oil refineries and chemical plants. Democratic Rep. Ed Markey of Massachusetts, co-author of the House climate change bill, told Fox News that the Obama administration has the power to act without Congress through the EPA...... foxnews.com/politics/ http://bit.ly/8czisQ

Senate GOP Does “Masterful” Job in Derailing ObamaCare!
merrie
by merrie  12-16-2009    1
On the same day that President Obama gathered a handful of business leaders at the White House for a phony “jobs summit” (how many jobs were created? ZERO!) Senate GOP leaders held their own jobs meeting to highlight the negative employment aspects of Obamacare. Big News: Top Medicare Official Declares Dem Plan Will RAISE Costs! Obama and the Democrats have long insisted that their plan would lower the “cost curve” for health costs and insurance. In November the Congressional Budget Office said that individual insurance premiums will rise an additional 10% under the Democrat plan . Last week, the chief actuary at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, part of the Health and Human Services Dept., declared that under the Dem plan health care costs would increase by $234 billion more than if no plan were enacted. Plus, many hospitals which are already on a financial knife’s edge would be pushed firmly into the red.
