POPSU.S. gives Flight 93 site landowners one week to sell
The hypocrisy here is that the government is forcing these land owners to give up their property for a monument to people who gave their lives protecting US freedoms. Why the heavy-handed action when most are willing to work out a deal? I am all for honoring these victims of fate who did more than just sit in their seats and take it. They are heroes of the highest degree. Monuments are a place of pride, a physical presence where family members can mourn, remember, and actually feel they are connecting with the spirits of their loved ones. But somehow a chunk of marble just doesn’t seem to be enough of a tribute. Before long fast food restaurants and stands selling trinkets will only trivialize their memory. And how many people will visit it? How long will anyone remember? Couldn’t that $58 million be better spent elsewhere, like maybe as settlement to the victims families for our ‘caring’ governments’ lack of motivation to prevent it from happening in the first place?

The decision by the National Park Service last month to pursue eminent domain touched off fierce criticism in an area where local residents have been deeply involved in efforts to plan the park and establish and staff the temporary memorial at the crash site. Two local members of the Flight 93 Federal Advisory Commission were so angry about the government's seizure plans that they resigned. This is the reason they're denying that the Flight 93 Memorial faces Mecca, or that it contains terrorist memorializing elements.

POPSFlight 93 superintendent will NOT honor Tom Burnett Sr.'s request to keep Tom Jr's name off This is really a shame; you'd think that with their parading victims in front of us constantly to prove their moral authority, that Tom Burnett Jr.'s family would at least have a voice in the matter. As long as you're a victim that plays into the politically correct debate on the side of the communists and dems, I guess your allowed your victimhood. When it plays the other way, you get no voice.
