POPSBelievers Invest in the Gospel of Getting Rich When God said “Give and you shall receive”, I’m pretty sure He wasn’t referring to money. People like the Copeland’s, who take advantage of other people’s belief in God in order to make themselves rich, are disgustingly poor examples spiritual leadership. They make a money game out of religion in order to enrich themselves. Then they buy private airplanes and boats, vacation in Hawaii, take cruises in Alaska, wear designer clothes and jewelry made of emeralds and diamonds and tell their flock “Fear will make you stingy” so keep on giving and giving and giving. One member said “If God did it for them, he will do it for us”. Well here’s a news flash for you, if you could get thousands of people to give you their money then you too could live prosperously. ‘Spiritual pickpockets’ is a very apt name indeed.

POPSDeaths of gamers leave their online lives in limbo This actually sounds like a great idea. I have kept a book with all my online ID's and Passwords. It really came in handy recently when a virus cleaned out all of my documents and photos folders on my computer. I had several of my ID's and Passwords in a folder .. fortunately not complete passwords. just hints I would know. My youngest daughter knows most of my ID's and passwords ... but not all of them. I think I'll look into one of these ... and the USB drive thing sounded like a good idea too.

POPS"6 Minutes to More Memory!" (psssst mini-nap) Here's how the scientists at the University of Düsseldorf figured it out: First, they asked university students to memorize a list of 30 words. Afterwards, the participants were either allowed to play a video game or to take a nap in a quiet room. The napping times were varied, though. Some students were allowed to take a 50-minute nap, whereas others were took 35-minute and 6-minute naps. When researchers compared the groups, they found that nap takers consistently remembered more words. On average, those who napped for six minutes remembered one word more than the video game players, while people taking the longer naps remembered two words more. The fascinating finding here--and the reasons for how six minutes can be so meaningful--is that most of the memory improvement is linked to changes in the brain that happen right when you start to doze off.

POPSCreate your own Simpsons Avatar A bunch of my friends on twitter started showing up with Simpsons avatars yesterday. Scott Beale solved the mystery of where they were all getting them - the Simpsons Movie website has a great flash avatar creator.

POPSSimulating the classroom for behaviour management A flash based simulation designed for teachers to practice what they would do in certain classroom situations. I think this is a great concept that may take off in other areas of education, for instance, simulating the reverse scenario for students to consider their responses to things teachers do.

POPS10 Cents To Rent A Song? This seems to me like another attempt by the music industry to put the genie back in the bottle. I can't imagine anyone would pay 10 cents to listen to a song under these onerous requirements, when for the equally low price of 99 cents they can download it -- or for free, they can pirate it.
