POPSTwo doctors in Saudi Arabia want to change cultural attitudes to female genital mutilation In Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia and Mali, for example, more than 80% of women have undergone FGM. Typically, the procedure is carried out by a Daya (an elderly female birth attendant) when a baby girl is a few days old, but it can be done at any time during childhood, adolescence, before marriage or during a first pregnancy. The scope of the operation – which is often carried out in non-sterile conditions using household implements – can vary considerably from removing the clitoris to cutting away all of the woman's external genitalia before stitching the wound back together leaving only a tiny hole for menstruation and urination." yes it still exists.

POPSWhy TORTURE your BABIES? Male Mutilation!
"It to be a brutal, painful and inhumane act. Parents do not have the right to make such an alteration to any child's body, male or female. That is something for them to decide when they are older. We are merely the guardian/custodian of our child's body, not its owner. A circumcision takes anywhere from 12 - 20 minutes, and 1/3 to 1/2 of TOTAL penile skin is removed. There is also considerable evidence that babies experience extreme pain and stress during a circumcision which, unfortunately, is performed the majority of the time without any anesthesia whatsoever. A recent poll of Doctors that preform circumcisions showed that only 45% used any kind of pain relief. This is even after the American Academy of Pediatrics, in their March 1999 Circumcision Policy, stated that analgesia has been found to be safe and effective in reducing the pain associated with circumcision, and should be provided if the procedure is performed. In cases when anesthesia is given it isn't always effecti

In our part of the World, democracy, equal status between man and woman and freedom of speech are absolutes. So, if there's a problem for you Somalian Muslims - Well, go home then and leave us in peace. How can you stay a place where you can't accept girls (in general) wearing skirts (or whatever they want to wear), without being called a hooker, being raped or beaten. Why can't she care for a kiss whenever she want, either it's her boyfriend or girlfriend? Kadra once told one of the Norwegian Ministers on purpose for getting the Norwegian politics getting more adequate to the real world. She said; Somalian guys are lacy and troublemakers. Allah, social benefits, kath (drug), trouble and suppressing their women are their only interests. And what have happen? Nothing.

POPSDenmark to Ban Mutilation of Male Child Penis The usual whining victimhood cry anti-Semitism as if this intended ban was directed towards them alone. They conveniently forget that Muslims also practice this barbarity and there are far more Muslims in the EU. Even when they are not victims, they refuse to share their perception of victimhood with others. Interference with children's bodies in ANY circumstance must be banned in all cases. Sexual interference with children's bodies is just one small step onwards as is easily proven by the many REAL victims of these religious maniacs.

POPSHistory of female circumcision in the United States Their approach to clitoral surgery, at least as revealed in published medical works, was a cautious one that respected the importance of clitoral stimulation for healthy sexuality while simultaneously recognizing its role as cause and symptom in cases of insanity that were tied to masturbation.

POPSMale Circumcision Could this be true?... If the increase in partner infection after circumcision is confirmed, it would mean it could not be endorsed as a prevention strategy without ensuring men and women are fully aware of the need to refrain from intercourse for a month or so until the penile wound has healed, the researchers said. The WHO's Kevin De Cock stressed the need for caution and good preparations: "While male circumcision has extraordinary potential to prevent HIV infection, these new findings remind us that we must proceed with thought and care in developing male circumcision in Africa."

POPSFemale circumcision: a problem in Britain The article says it is practiced by Christians and Muslims alike, coming from Africa and the Middle East. Odd, I've never heard of this until I heard of honor killings, which is particularly an Islamic tradition. Female circumcision was banned in 2003, but since then, no incidents of it have been prosecuted even though one midwife said she treats 400-500 cases of it.

POPSMale circumcision is a weapon in the sperm wars
In some forms of mutilation, the handicap to sperm competition is obvious. There is subincision, for example, where cuts are made to the base of the penis. This causes sperm to be ejaculated from the base rather than the end, and is performed in several Aboriginal Australian societies, says Wilson. In some African and Micronesian cultures, young men have one of their testicles crushed. Male genital mutilation makes it less likely that a male will manage to father a child with another man's wife, Wilson says. Home advantage Circumcision is one of the less painful forms of mutilation, but it is also less effective at reducing sperm competition. Wilson suggests, however, that the lack of a foreskin could make insertion or ejaculation slower, meaning brief, illicit sex is less likely to come to fruition and lead to a pregnancy. Younger men, he says, willingly submit to having their reproductive ability reduced because they benefit socially from the older men, by forming allian
