POPSFemale genital mu.tilation banned in Eritrea Too bad it is not enforced fully. It is one of the cultural traditions that I wish would just go away. It's is not fair to the poor girls that must endure this horrific procedure. Kudos to them for banning it. Hope it helps the girls/women.

POPSFemale circumcision: a problem in Britain The article says it is practiced by Christians and Muslims alike, coming from Africa and the Middle East. Odd, I've never heard of this until I heard of honor killings, which is particularly an Islamic tradition. Female circumcision was banned in 2003, but since then, no incidents of it have been prosecuted even though one midwife said she treats 400-500 cases of it.
