Virgin Girls Raped Before Execution in Iran
foxyarse
by foxyarse  12-29-2009    2
At first glance, one may think that it is the religion, Islam, that forbids the execution of virgins, but this is not so. Islam has no problem executing virgins no matter how young they are; after all if one can marry a 9 year old then certainly one should be able to execute a 9 year old. The actual problem is that virgins are promised a place in Paradise; and this is precisely what repulses the Imams in Iran. To prevent these young criminals, some as young as 9 years old, from entering Paradise, they passed a law forbidding the execution of virgins and to make sure they went to Hell, these Islamic old farts also mandated that virgins be raped married on the night before their execution to prevent their arrival in Paradise. As for the rape of female prisoners, Islam not only allows but encourages the rape of prisoners-of-war, slaves, enemies of the Islamic state as well as civil prisoners, male or female

John Birch | American Hero Murdered by Chinese Communists
MichaelEhline
by MichaelEhline  12-30-2009    1
Captain John Birch's death were deliberately covered up by the U.S. government. The reason for the cover-up did not become evident until some years later. On September 5, 1950, California Senator William Knowland announced on the floor of the Senate that the murder of John Birch had been deliberately covered up by communist sympathizers to conceal the true nature of Mao Tse-tung's "agrarian reformers" who were trying to oust Chiang Kai-shek's government. As Knowland charged on the floor of the Senate, had the truth about John Birch's death not been suppressed by our government, it is quite likely that America's official policy towards the Chinese communists and towards Chiang Kai-shek would have been significantly different. Perhaps the American betrayal of China to the communists might never have occurred. On such seemingly small events do the fates of men and nations so often hinge.

Pulling the Plug on Capitol Punishment
mcsmithblack
by mcsmithblack  12-10-2009
Brilliant article, short and sweet, on the history of legal support and current non-support of the death penalty. Strongly recommended, people. It really is interesting. More from the article below: "Ordinarily, the decision of a non-governmental organization to reject a sentencing system it adopted in the early 1960s would richly deserve public obscurity. With states like New York and Massachusetts turning back efforts this decade to revive capital punishment, and with New Jersey and New Mexico abolishing their death penalties, why pay much attention to the American Law Institute? Because the institute has pulled the intellectual rug out from under the current system of deciding between life and death in 30 death-penalty states. The declining legitimacy of the death-penalty system in the legal profession must trouble all but the most extreme justices. The Supreme Court's close association with state killing has never been a comfortable one, and the collapse of any pretense of prin

"Proper Procedure" Matters More Than Justice
mcsmithblack
by mcsmithblack  11-29-2009
Rest of the article below: " " This Court has never held that the Constitution forbids the execution of a convicted defendant who has had a full and fair trial but is later able to convince a habeas court that he is “actually” innocent. Quite to the contrary, we have repeatedly left that question unresolved, while expressing considerable doubt that any claim based on alleged “actual innocence” is constitutionally cognizable." But, in this case, most of the key witnesses say that they gave false testimony. How fair is that? It may be true that the prosecutor didn't knowingly introduce false evidence and that the judge conducted the trial according to the law and that the jury followed their instructions to a tee. But the trial wasn't exactly fair when it was filled with perjurers, now was it? And even under this reading of the law, how could it be Constitutional to execute a man you believe to be innocent? Naturally, Clarence Thomas joined Scalia in this dissent."

Reward information call 253-591-5959 or 866-977-2362. Authorities are offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of the person involved in this morning's fatal shooting, described as a black man who is between 5-feet-7-inches and 5-feet-10-inches tall, and wearing a black coat and blue jeans in the Lakewood, Wash. area. Anybody with information is asked to call 253-591-5959 or 866-977-2362. A 37-year-old Tacoma man, Maurice Clemmons, who was recently released from jail, has an extensive criminal record in Pierce County and Arkansas, court records show. Clemmons is wanted in Arkansas and faces eight criminal charges in Washington state. The four officers were killed at about 8:15 a.m. by a scruffy-looking man who walked into a coffee shop and opened fire. The officers " three men and one woman " were found dead by deputies who arrived at Forza Coffee at 11401 Steele St. S., said Pierce County Sheriff's spokesman Ed Troyer.

Slaughterman executed mother with bolt gun in front of her daughters
foxyarse
by foxyarse  11-13-2009
He shut down the house lights before charging up the stairs and burst in just as she turned on the bedroom lamp. McFarlane dragged Miss Griffiths from the room, where she had been sleeping with her ten-year-old daughter, before beating and trying to strangle her. The mother screamed for help as she was attacked and managed to get outside where her 13-year-old girl shouted 'don't do it, stop it,' as McFarlane shot her. A neighbour described what he saw as 'clinical, deliberate, and like an execution' and how he also knocked the teenager to the ground with the weapon. The killer later texted a friend to say he had done it to teach her a lesson - before slashing his arms in an apparent suicide attempt. The Independent Police Complaints Commission launched an inquiry into how police dealt with Miss Griffiths' initial plea for help after her death but has yet to make a ruling. McFarlane pleaded guilty to murder at Ipswich Crown Court last week and was sentenced today at th

Food Critic Murders Baboon: Needed Fodder for His Column?!
JackieDel
by JackieDel  10-29-2009    3
While admitting there was no good excuse for his action, he nonetheless tries to explain: "I noticed that, when it was alive, I thought about the baboon as a thing. Now he’s dead, I’m posthumously anthropomorphising him, and that was one of the reasons I killed. I wanted to get a sense of what it might be like to kill someone, a stranger." Stop. Breathe. I note my first reaction: Excruciating execution for this guy, preferably slowly bleeding to death in front of his buddies, sounds like a good idea. Exhale. Pause. Next reaction: What the heck was he thinking? What sick person would find it perfectly acceptable to write about his urge to explore killing primates in a food column? Is he so disengaged from life and his place in it that he thinks this is witty? Educational? Cool?

Ending death penalty could save US millions
Lexica
by Lexica  10-20-2009    1
More: Dieter says that keeping execution while reducing its costs is not realistic. If less money is spent on appeals, he argues, the risk of executing an innocent person will increase. He said that ultimately, execution does not deter crime as its supporters hope. Capital punishment has been abolished in most western democracies, and after it was eliminated in the US state of New Jersey in 2007, the state saw its murder rate decline. Dieter cites a poll of 500 local police chiefs, which was paid for by the DPIC and released on Tuesday, showing support for ending capital punishment. The survey found that the police chiefs see the death penalty as the least effective tool in deterring crime. They suggest more efficient use of resources -- such as boosting funding for drug and alcohol abuse programs.

Microsoft Exposes Firefox Users to Drive-By Malware Downloads
merrie
by merrie  10-17-2009    8
Here, the affected process is the Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) hosting process, PresentationHost.exe. While the vulnerability is in an IE component, there is an attack vector for Firefox users as well. The reason is that .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 installs a “Windows Presentation Foundation” plug-in in Firefox. Now, Microsoft’s security folks are actually recommending that Firefox users uninstall the buggy add-on: For Firefox users with .NET Framework 3.5 installed, you may use “Tools”-> “Add-ons” -> “Plugins”, select “Windows Presentation Foundation”, and click “Disable" This introduction of vulnerabilities in a competing browser is a colossal embarrassment for Microsoft. At the time of the surreptitious installs, there were prescient warnings from many in the community about the security implications of introducing new code into browsers without the knowledge " and consent " of end users. http://blogs.zdnet.com/security/?p=4614&tag=nl.e589
