POPSWe All Want To Know "We will probably never find that cosmic connection to our lost royalty. Someday I will visit Norway and look up those ancestors. They died not knowing the fate of the universe, and so will I, but maybe that’s all right." TN told me once she felt closer to knowing God through science. Well, she has her way and I have mine, but we all want to know :)

POPSGet Yer Merry On! Based on the latest warmal Algorithm, this month’s holiday lightup is probably going to cost us at least 1,500 polar bears! Speaking of which, anyone know what the lighting bill is at the newly green White House this year? “I’ve been doing it for six years,” said 26-year-old D.J. Damato, who each year trims his family home on 9 Butternut Road with more than 30,000 lights. “Little kids love it, and that’s kind of what keeps me going,” he said. Little kids love it? For Gaia’s sake! Frank Armata, a 30-year resident, began stringing his display when the neighborhood was still relatively dark. “I was the first on my street to set up the lights,” he said of his 25 Preston Road home. “Now, there’s competition … ” Can’t we all just get along? Not far away on 38 Bartlett St., there’s another amazing show. “I love lights,” said Felix Barcelos, 84, who has been decorating his house for three decades. BostonHerald http://bit.ly/4RWf

POPSIran Test-Fires Its Longest - Range Missile All nay-saying in the world does not change the reality of the region. Iran has long declared Israel it's "sworn enemy", not the other way around. The "high speed" of their military technological advancements plus their political expansion into S. America has to be taken seriously as a threat to us all...not just Israel anymore.

POPSPuffing the great wind scam What is dangerous is that even contemplating such a mad waste of resources is diverting attention from the genuine need to build enough proper, grown-up power stations to keep our lights on. For that the time is fast running out, if it hasn't done so already

POPSUnexploded landmines? Call the HeroRats! More: The cheapness of breeding and maintaining them is further helped by their ability to adapt to a number of environments. Once they are trained the rats seem to actively enjoy performing repetitive tasks and they do not get stressed if their trainers are changed in the way that dogs will. Plus of course – one serious advantage over dogs – they are too light to detonate a mine by themselves if they step on it. A living rat is better than a canine cadaver… The HeroRATS are currently deployed in Mozambique where they have enabled over one thousand families to reclaim their land. They have also helped with clearing areas so that power lines can be passed through – so bringing electricity which would not otherwise have been possible to over ten thousand local citizens. It is hoped that they will soon be deployed to Zambia, Congo and Angola as well, but negotiations are still underway.
