Texas Man Sues Own Parents Over His Turning into an Asshole
foxyarse
by foxyarse  9-26-2009    1
"when he attended classes at Apache Middle School. He too remembers it differently, "It was young Greg who was expelled for wearing his Mom's underwear to the 8th grade dance." Studley asserts in his lawsuit that the reason he had to move away to a gay-oriented large city was to cushion the emotional pain he was now feeling as an adult. He also claims he's under-employed at the moment because there are very few work places that allow him to wear older women's undergarments over his street clothes while employed. He is seeking an unspecified amount of money in his suit. Elmer 'Chuck Wagon' Studley, age 72, is Greg Studley's Dad. He says him and the Missus had very little to do with the way young Greg turned out. "Yup, he turned into an asshole all by his self!"

TEXAS U GOT 2 BE KIDDING !!!!
Imnclady

Thus far, a majority of Texas citizens support the border wall, with nearly 8 million signing up to join a coalition of Minutemen that will guard the fence. "These good-for-nothing Americans want to come in here and wait in the same lines as me, watch the same movies, and eat at the same restaurants," El Paso resident and border patrol volunteer Larry Carlile told reporters. "Who do they think they are? I'd never dare waltz into America and act like I owned the place. That country's a godforsaken hellhole, anyway."

Bragging on the Texas Economy
Rustee
by Rustee  4-22-2009    2
Thank you Gov. Perry for staying out of the way. For the third straight year, the nation’s leading executives rank Texas as the best state in which to do business, applauding the state for controlling taxes and spending as well as for its positive regulatory burden, quality of life and infrastructure. (Chief Executive Magazine, January 2008) This ranking is significant because it is not based solely on arbitrary economic indicators. Instead, it reflects the sentiment not of CEOs and decision makers throughout the nation. Voicing the positive sentiment of many respondents, Charles Hannabarger, President and CEO of PSI Associates, said, "Texas has a strong economy with a diversified economic base. The cost of living is low and the quality of life is very good. The attitude and capabilities of the workforce are outstanding!”

Listening to the Earth's deepest secrets

USArray will allow geologists to poke around under the hood, inspecting Earth's internal workings right down to where the mantle touches the iron-rich core 2900 kilometres below the surface - and perhaps even further down. "It is our version of the Hubble Space Telescope. With it, we'll be able to view Earth in a fundamentally different way," says Matthew Fouch, a geophysicist at Arizona State University in Tempe.

Obama: No U.S. Troops To Mexico Border For Now
merrie
by merrie  3-12-2009
By TODD J. GILLMAN / The Dallas Morning News Last month, Texas Gov. Rick Perry visited El Paso – whose neighbor, Ciudad Juarez, has taken the brunt of drug violence that has claimed more than 7,000 lives in Mexico in 14 months – and called on Washington to send a thousand troops or border agents. US Constitution Article IV, Section 4 The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against Invasion; and on Application of the Legislature, or of the Executive (when the Legislature cannot be convened) against domestic Violence. “We’re going to examine whether and if National Guard deployments would make sense and under what circumstances they would make sense,” Obama told The Dallas Morning News “I’m not interested in militarizing the border.” http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/dn/latestnews/stories/030909dnmetobamaborder.263f12df.html

Thousands Of Mexican Soldiers Crackdown On Drug Gangs
merrie
by merrie  3-3-2009    1
Armed to the hilt, they came from land and air, determined to restore order to Mexico's most violent city. The soldiers' mandate is clear - and ambitious. 'This is to reinforce the operation in general ... to eradicate kidnappings, extortion, assaults and homicide,' army spokesman Enrique Torres said. The soldiers are the first contingent of as many as 5,000 troops and federal police being sent to Juarez. Almost 2,500 soldiers and federal police have been there for nearly a year, but they have failed to curb the violence plaguing the city of about 1.6 million people. President Felipe Calderon's military operation is supported by the United States, which is concerned the violence could destabilize Mexico, a key trading partner, and spill over the border. Mexico has deployed some 45,000 troops across the country to try to crush drug gangs, but clashes between rival cartels and security forces killed around 6,000 people last year.

Governor Perry Wants U.S. Troops Guarding Border
merrie
by merrie  2-25-2009
Perry said his presence in El Paso also was meant to send a message that Texas is willing to protect Juárez Mayor José Reyes Ferriz, who received death threats from a Mexican drug cartel and moved his family to El Paso. On Tuesday, Reyes' staff said that the mayor carried out his normal duties in Juárez, including a Mexican Flag Day ceremony, and that he would continue to remove corrupt officers from the city's police force. And the violence has continued with multiple killings daily. A total of eight homicides occurred Monday in Juárez. On Wednesday, members of the Mexican federal government's Security Cabinet will meet in Juárez with local and state officials to discuss what to do about the violence. Mexican authorities also continued their investigation into the attack Sunday against Chihuahua Gov. José Reyes Baeza Terrazas' bodyguards, in which one agent was killed. One of the gunmen suspected in the attack, a former Mexican soldier, was wounded.

Ceasefire deal must lift Gaza siege: Hamas
citizenbfk
by citizenbfk  2-6-2009    1
It's great to see that the 18-month long slow starvation of over a million and a a half people in the Gaza Strip is coming into focus as a prime issue and getting some coverage in the Western world. Maybe some of us have heard the Israeli propaganda about: "What would you do if your neighboring country was shooting off rockets into your cities" (with very, very bad aim). What would El Paso, Texas, USA do, for example, if rockets were being fired in from Chihuahua? What would London do if it came under attack from Eidenborough? etc. In thinking about that it should be considered: Is Texas enforcing a blockade of basic needs to Chihuahua, Mexico? Is London starving over a million and a half people to death in Eidenborough? A 2nd point is who is actually firing the rockets? Is it the government of Mexico behind it or is it drug gangs? Was it the government of Scotland or a breakaway rogue political splinter group? The issue is far from black and white.

Bush Pardons Criminals, But Not Border Agents
blueridge
by blueridge  12-29-2008    1
Why? Who is really being protected? The "rule of law" is entirely arbitrary, as it was also under Clinton. The rumors and evidence about Bush-Clinton drug ties continue to be given credence in actions like this. Border agents get jailed, while drug dealers get pardoned. Maybe someone should follow the money. Presidential pardons, from the Founders, were designed only to be used to pardon or forgive offenses against the Executive or Government, not for arbitrary purposes.

Major DNC Donor To Party Treasurer: Obama Is A Bad Investment
merrie
by merrie  8-1-2008
Getting not one bill passed in the first 6 years of his career in not inspiring. Having Emil Jones hand him the ball 26 times on the one-yard line in order to make Obama a United States Senator does not cut it either. What deals he made, he did to benefit no one but himself. He never worked long enough in either Senate to help the people who elected him. Andy, I could never imagine you taking credit for legislation someone else slaved over. Starting in his community organizing days he claimed sole responsibility for other people's accomplishments all for the purpose to boosting his career. Every person I have talked to who worked at the Law Review at Harvard with him, or in the later part of his career, said the same thing: he was arrogant and self-centered. Substance matters. Barack is a politician, an inexperienced one at that, pretending he is different. I just see him as arrogant and power hungry. Our country deserves better.
