POPSJohn McCain Campaign Takes a +3 Vorpal Blade to Dungeons & Dragons Players Cont.... But it does raise the obvious question: If John McCain were a D&D character, what kind would he be? Our money is on some sort of shape-shifting offshore drill monster. But what you do think? Submit your McCain inspired D&D creature below: Pick a name, decide what kind of damage he can inflict in combat, and don't forget his special powers. Vote on your favorites. Threat Level will incorporate the winning entry into our next dungeon map, which is set in the vast caverns lurking beneath the Old Executive Office Building.

POPSD&D master Gary Gygax was a nerd's nerd Gygax was 69 when he died - a pretty good roll when you're trying to hit a troll with a two-handed sword, but much too young to leave the real world behind. As for the fantasy worlds he created, they have expanded, flourished and become a part of everyday life. And they're all a tribute to the original dungeon master.

POPSThe story of Aribeth de Tylmarande Neverwinter Nights is a computer role playing game that is based on third edition Dungeons & Dragons and Forgotten Realms rules.Lady Aribeth is one of the most attractive characters of RPG's ever. This is,of course, just the beggining of her story. As the campaign continues she faces many difficulties and eventually has a tragic fate.Needless to say,the username Aribeth is very popular among the female rpg lovers like me and whenever I try to create an account I usually find that is already taken. But in clipmarks I was lucky!

POPSBeneath a Steel Sky - freeware adventure game gem I found out about this a few days ago while doing some more fishing for retrogames: BaSS is a game I've never played before, only heard of. I'm familiar with the classic Sierra and LucasArts games as well as The Longest Journey, and much to my pleasure, this is in a similar vein. The music isn't up to par but the dialog is memorable and the visuals are pretty evocative — not DirectX 10, 3D goodness, but well-crafted nuances from an early age of electronic entertainment. As a 66 MB download, it comes highly recommended!

POPSDancers & Drugees: The Raver Role-Playing Game! This came out awhile ago but it makes me smile to this day. I've never heard of anyone playing through this seriously with a straight face, but it's pretty well-thought through. Ishkur's site has a lot of other electronic music-related goodness: you'll want to check out his Guide to Electronic Music too.
