This contrasts with the IPCC models that predict that temperature rises and falls smoothly with increasing or decreasing carbon dioxide." The man is not solely alarmist. He believes that we should attempt to lower greenhouse gases, and minimize the destruction of forests; but he believes that that will simply not be enough. The bottom line, according to Lovelock, is that we will simply have to adapt.

He has labeled a report issued by the IPCC earlier this year as "properly cautious", adding that he believes the report leaves a tone of “we can fix this”, when there is none. That process would provide the kind of genetic reshuffling that other animals achieve through sexual reproduction. “It may be their form of sex,” Meselson says. “But their partner is essentially dead. So you’d have to call it necrophilia. Actually, since they’re all females, lesbian necrophilia.”

If you read his words in this clip, he says cut waste, the first example being the wasteful spending such as federal crop subsidies for millionaire farmers. That's sort of hard to complain about. Obama's next examples are: the elimination of excessive subsidies ("corporate welfare,") to HMO - Health Maintenance Organization, i.e. medical insurance companies. #2) and eliminating bad practices, i.e. "not using the governments purchasing power to drive down the cost of prescription drugs" Note: The government fell victim to HMO lobbying that refused to allow the government to negotiate for better prices on prescription drugs: No discounts for buying in bulk, etc. -- a clear financial scam. These 2008 records challenging levels going back to 1904 and 1965 prove that CO2 levels cannot be the driver of global temperatures claimed by the alarmists on the left and inside the UN. CO2 levels are very high compared to 1904, let alone 1965, and so is the world’s human population. For example, in 1900 the world population was 1.65 billion people, in 1965 it was 3.33 billion and in 2005 it was 6.45 billion.
