"Three Palestinian resistance groups have claimed responsibility for the Dimona bombing, including the Al-Aqsa Martyrs brigades, an off-shot of Fatah, led by President Mahmoud Abbas, the Abu Ali Mustafa brigades, the armed wing of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, and a new group called the national resistance brigades. In a joint statement, faxed to the press, the three groups named the suicide bombers as Mosa Arafat from Khan Younis, and Loay al-Aghwani from Gaza city. Al-Aqsa Martyrs brigades, Fatah's armed wing, held a press conference in Gaza, stating that today's attack is a part of Palestinian resistance operations which will continue "as long as the Israeli occupation continues attacks on the Palestinian people." POPSA Virginia Court In Essence Has Made Doctors Treating Pain, Criminals As a chronic pain patient I am appalled that doctors who are sincerely trying to help their patients who suffer from this debilitating and life altering condition are being treated like common street drug pushers. The U.S. has gone insane with their misguided war on drugs. Compassionate doctors will rot in jail as their patients writhe in pain or commit suicide. Does this make any sense to anyone? I certainly hope not!

POPSTolerance vs. Intolerance Doctor 1: "I believe that the problem is focused on your gall bladder. We are going to have to remove it." Doctor 2: "No! The evidence clearly shows that this condition is caused by a bacteria. We should start the patient on antibiotics" Doctor 1: "I do not see why you militant bacterialists simply refuse to tolerate the opinions of us defective organists. We have as much of a right to our opinion as you do. We have a sick patient here. We should learn to tolerate each other's beliefs and work together." I don't know about you, but as soon as I heard Doctor 1 make that statement, I'm firing him as my doctor. Clearly, he does not understand what medicine is about and that treating a patient involves finding the best treatment based on the available evidence.

POPSThe Ultimate Double Standard I happen to be one of those people who truly believes life is precious. As someone who lives with two serious chronic illnesses and continuous sever pain, I continue to fight to live my life to its fullest, and to remain active and as productive as possible. However, I also believe that every human being is entitled to dignity in their lives and a decent quality of life. When those two things are absent from my life, I would like the option of deciding when I have had enough. I should be entitled to the same consideration as a race horse, or a house pet. I do not believe anyone would consider seriously the act of ending their lives lightly. It is a tortuous decision and it is an act that should not be carried-out in haste. But the option should be available, and once the decision is made, the person's doctor should be permitted to help the patient end his/her life with grace, dignity and loving care.
