POPSWish You Were Beer Sometimes when I reflect back on all the beer I drink I feel ashamed. Then I look into the glass and think about the workers in the brewery and all of their hopes and dreams. If I didn't drink this beer, they might be out of work and their dreams would be shattered. Then I say to myself, it is better that I drink this beer and let their dreams come true than be selfish and worry about my liver. I feel sorry for people who don't drink. When they wake up in the morning, that's as good as they're going to feel all day. Remember: "I" before "E," except in Budweiser. I drink only to make my friends seem interesting. Everybody should believe in something; I believe I'll have another drink. Without question, the greatest invention in the history of mankind is beer. Oh, I grant you that the wheel was also a fine invention, but the wheel does not go nearly as well with pizza. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IXdNnw99-Ic

POPSDying to get to the USA We arrest and charge those trying to leave water and food for those who risk their lives crossing the desert to get here. Prior to 1848 - this was their ancestors land but we draw a line and say die if you cross without permission. From space, you cannot see those lines - just one earth.

POPSWhy Do Men Catcall? Another interesting article. When I was roaming Canada, I noticed that "catcalling" was a much more rare phenomenon than it is in the U.S.. This leads me to conclude that catcalling might be a cultural thing. What do you think?

POPSChild Porn Fears Scupper Airport ‘Nude X-ray’ Scans The Rapiscan works by beaming electromagnetic waves on to passengers as they stand in a booth, creating a virtual three-dimensional black-and-white ‘naked’ image from the reflected energy and sending it to a computer monitor elsewhere in the airport where it is examined by a security officer. The whole process takes only about 20 seconds and then the image is deleted. But the scans show every contour of people’s bodies – even revealing breast implants – which some may find intrusive.

POPSColor Psychology Color psychology is concerned with the effects of color on mood, emotion, behavior.Colors are not only used for decorations or adding beauty to an object, but they can be used to determine personality traits to affect people’s mood and to effect on other people around you. Each colour is connected to various areas of our body and will affect us differently emotionally, physically, mentally, and spiritually. Several ancient cultures, including the Egyptians and Chinese, practiced chromotherapy, or using colors to heal. Chromotherapy is sometimes referred to as light therapy or colourology and is still used today as a holistic or alternative treatment. In this treatment: * Red was used to stimulate the body and mind and to increase circulation. * Yellow was thought to stimulate the nerves and purify the body. * Orange was used to heal the lungs and to increase energy levels. * Blue was believed to soothe illnesses and treat pain. I'll take red :-)

POPSIt's the fight against death. Having empathy and concern for others can be a misfortune because there is so little one can do to help the forgotten ones. That's the way the Insurance Industry would like those who can't afford their high premiums to become... FORGOTTEN. It's only people with a platform such as Mr. Olbermann, who can bring to light the outrageous greed in this country where bottom-line is more revered than humaneness. I guess if they could just get rid of those who can't line their pockets, they would do so but since we are a nation of laws all they can do is lie, mislead and spend exuberant amounts of money lobbying their status quo. Thank all that is good, for Keith Olbermann, he is the guiding light to benevolent thinking of which we all, Conservatives and Liberals alike, can follow, if you happen to possess a heart. He truly is A VOICE OF REASON. thinkingblue View the whole segment here: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/33213245/

POPSJapan Abandons America During the run-up to the election, Hatoyama’s finance minister told the bbc he was worried about the future value of the dollar, and that if his party were elected in the upcoming national elections, it would refuse to purchase any more U.S. treasuries unless they were denominated in Japanese yen. Japan is the world’s second-largest economy. It is also America’s second-most-important creditor. The U.S. government owes Japan over $724 billion! The only nation America owes more money to is China ($800 billion). The U.S. also imports $140 billion worth of goods from Japan each year. If Japan were to follow through with its threat to only lend in yen, the dollar would probably fall hard. What would that mean? America gets more expensive consumer goods, higher unemployment, and currency inflation. If other nations like China follow suit, we would be looking at a currency crisis—Zimbabwe-style.

POPSDeceit in Obama's America - H.A. Giroux In this case, the politics of distortions and misrepresentations that Obama's lack of integrity has produced may prove to be even more dangerous than what we got under Bush because it wraps itself in a moralism that seems uplifting and hopeful while it supports policies that reward the rich, reduce schools to testing centers and continue to waste lives and money on wars that should have ended when Obama assumed his presidency.

POPSSearch for Criminally Insane killer Phillip Arnold Paul who Escaped During a Field Trip
Take a look at this liberal, bleeding heart agenda for recovery for a man who soaked an elderly woman’s body in gas and burned her in a flower garden to throw off dogs. BTW, that does not seem to be crazy, isn’t that a conscious thought to destroy evidence? Good grief, check out the mission statement and recovery principles. Why didn’t they just pay for his way on a Carnival cruise? Recovery Principles: Hope Self management and autonomy Dignity and self respect Tolerance and forgiveness Adaptability and capacity to change Personal responsibility and productivity Peer support and community life Acceptance and self awareness What the hell was a criminally insane killer taking a field trip to the County fair? What the hell were authorities at Eastern State Hospital where Phillip Arnold Paul was a patient thinking? Was to zoo closed? Could you not get tickets for the matinee movie? WTF!!! How on earth were these people putting the citizens and children at

POPSDeath Book for Veterans If President Obama is sincere in stating that he is not trying to cut costs by pressuring the disabled to forgo critical care, one good way to show that commitment is to walk two blocks from the Oval Office and pull the plug on "Your Life, Your Choices." He should make sure in the future that VA decisions are guided by values that treat the lives of our veterans as gifts, not burdens. Mr. Towey, president of Saint Vincent College, was director of the White House Office of Faith-Based Initiatives (2002-2006) and founder of the nonprofit Aging with Dignity.

POPSRon Paul's views on abortion i was very intrigued by Ron Paul and his views on taxes, etc., but have been put off by his stance regarding a woman's right to choose. having a personal beliefs against abortion is fine with me, believe what you want! but taking away a woman's right to make choices about her own body, and even trying to overturn Roe v. Wade?!?! its excessive, i feel.

POPSundignified tone “I hope the President will learn that true bipartisanship begins with mutual respect,” Graham said in response to Obama’s fervent criticism of those who oppose him. “Not all criticism is demagoguery,” he added. Graham said when it comes to the public option, “the President is either being disingenuous or misinformed. The public option, contrary to the president’s claims, will eventually lead to a government takeover of our health care system.” Graham believes Obama’s address to Congress is the beginning of a “go it alone” strategy in the push for the government takeover of the health care system. “If the Obama Administration and congressional Democrats go down this path and push a bill on the American people they do not want, it could be the beginning of the end of the Obama presidency.” © 2009 Newsmax. POPSWhen the "option" to die becomes a duty Of course the law was proposed as giving a choice to die with dignity, but appears to be on the road to becoming a case of "We will not treat you, so it's your choice to die in pain or commit suicide - which we'll foot the bill for." The spokesman for the State health plan called the letter " a public relations blunder and something the state is 'working on"'. Apologising for the manner in which the actions are communicated is NOT the same as apologizing for the action. Still, that's all the State has done.

POPSJury convicts man of raping multiple prostitutes as his attorney says sluts and whores deserve rape The defense attorney continued with his attempts to slut-shame the women this man had raped: "They are not like your wife, your girlfriend or your daughter," he said. "They are street tramps. And what happened to them was, at least in part, their fault."… Giggenbach said the law protects them from violent crime just as it protects everyone else. "That's a wolf right there," Giggenbach said, standing before Gravely and pointing. "A wolf who attacks the weak, the uneducated and the socially crippled, because he knows they are not going to go to the hospital or the police. "He's a serial rapist, 15 or 20 times in our community," Giggenbach said. "Lurking, stalking, waiting for the weak to come out at night. "You find him not guilty and you tell this man, 'You go right ahead, anybody in this community can do that,' Giggenbach told jurors.

POPSThe Truth About Nazis "To strip those words of their power and meaning in order to create political fear for self-gain is inexcusable and needs to be confronted and refuted whenever it arises, by all of us, whether we support the current health care bill and the current president or not." POPSThe Nightmare of Rationing in Oregon
We as a nation can’t afford to learn the same lesson that Oregon is learning the hard way. A brief look at the state’s rationing policy demonstrates how out of whack the Oregon Health Services Commission’s medical priorities are. For example, under the OHSC directive, a person in need of an emergency appendectomy (prioritized 84th) would be denied that treatment before an individual in need of treatment for “tobacco dependence” (ranked 6th). The state’s prioritization database reads like a case study in medical prioritization turned on its head. Like those pushing preventive care in the current national debate, administrators say the rationing program’s foundational focus is on prevention rather than on actual medical conditions and emergencies. This was borne out of a desire to save the government more money in the long run. However, as always happens when bureaucrats and elected officials are left to work out the nuts and bolts of a program, the determinations . . .

POPSAlternative to AARP, AmericanSeniors.Org "At American Seniors Association, we don’t just take the government’s side like some other associations. We are not some big liberal bureaucracy here to try to scare you into going along with Big Government all the time or telling you what to think. Instead, • We’ll offer you real, useful information so you can make up your own mind. • We’ll ask: What do you think? • And, we’ll take your side. And instead of pretending to speak for you on every issue, we’ll help provide you with the information and the tools you need to speak for yourself."
