Reagan added: “I hope John McCain will not shrink from pointing the finger of blame where it belongs – at Barack Obama, who fed greedily at the trough of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac while their top people, including two of his own campaign associates, were flim-flamming the American people. It’s a Democratic scandal from beginning to end, and the American people deserve to know it.”

When The Messiah Speaks, The Youth Will Hear
merrie
by merrie  10-10-2008    6
“Not sure the Obama team will be thrilled about yet another crazy association,” added another commenter on the NewsBusters forums page. Previous reports have documented Obama’s links to Kenyan opposition leader Raila Odinga, onetime Weatherman bombing suspect Bill Ayers and Rev. Jeremiah Wright, who proclaimed a black liberation theology for 20 years while Obama was a member of his church, demanding that God “d***” America. “How much more have to come out on Obama before the O-Bots put down the kool-aid and say ENOUGH!” added a third. “Barack Obama was a community organizer like Jesus,” Cohen said during a one-minute speech on the floor of the U.S. House yesterday. “Pontius Pilate was a governor.” Democrats, including party strategist Donna Brazile and Rep. Steve Cohen, D-Tenn., made nearly identical biblical comparisons of the characters in this presidential election Is Barack Obama the Messiah? http://obamamessiah.blogspot.com/

Time’s Karen Tumulty, who spotted racist goblins in the recent McCain ad criticizing Obama for seeking advice from Fannie Mae corruptocrat Franklin Raines. A parade of congressional witch hunters for Obama also detects the specter of George Wallace behind every policy bush. Democratic New York Gov. David Paterson says conservative criticism of Obama’s community organizing days is code for “black.” Democratic Rep. Gregory Meeks complained to the New York Observer: “They are trying to throw out these codes.” In the same piece, Democratic Rep. Yvette Clark divined segregationist intent in Palin’s references to Joe Six-Pack and hockey moms. “It leaves a lot of people out.” And Democratic Sen. Majority Leader Harry Reid echoed Time’s Tumulty on the McCain camp’s Obama/Raines broadsides: “The only connection that people could bring up about Raines and Barack Obama is that they both are African-American, other than that there is nothing.”

Republicans Try to Close Voting Centers.
citizenbfk
by citizenbfk  10-10-2008    3
While the Republicans make false charges against a group called ACORN, for doing voter fraud...here's a real fact we can hang our hats on: Republicans - went - to - court - to - try - to - close - voting -- places. Republicans are trying to close these early-voting centers because they are near poor and minority areas. If they were near their Wall St. supporters there would be no complaint. It is true, though, BTW, that these new voting centers approved last year by a majority vote of an election board, might help Democrats...that's why the majority of Democrats on this election board voted in favor. BUT - Such actions are a non-stop battle between all the parties all the time. And this is mild compared to the non-stop efforts at gerrymandering, where the boundaries of election districts and distorted in favor of one party. Since Republicans have been in power the last eight years they are Much More guilty of this.

Why Republican Base loves Sarah Palin
thinkingblue
by thinkingblue  10-10-2008    2
This article. goes right to the heart of why the Republican base is so in love with Sarah Palin. She doesn't give them facts, she gives them the red-meat they lust for. I'm sure most, can remember people like Palin, in high school. The bubbly types, who dub anyone who doesn't fit their interpretation of what's "IN", a pariah. Yes, they have a blueprint of what is "IN", the right style, a snooty air, a superficial manner will get you, "IN". As bad as this exclusivity is, it could be tolerated if they also had a "live and let live" attitude. But unfortunately, anyone who crosses their path, who's not "IN" they will socially banish. They do this, by falsely labeling, and contriving suspicions of any non-"IN", creating an impression that something is shockingly wrong with anyone who, by their calculations, cannot be part of their "IN" crowd. But what's most perplexing is... It's one thing to behave like this in a state of childhood but carried into adulthood? Mind boggling! :-?

$10.2 Trillion: National Debt Clock Goes Bust
blueridge
by blueridge  10-10-2008    1
George Bush's legacy and the cost of war. How appropriate for the Debt Clock to run out of numbers. It's so symbolic, like the clock itself staggered at the number. The figure is absolutely outrageous and completely unjustifiable. And republicans used to be the party of limited instead of Big Government. The consequences are now all coming back. But Democrats should not gloat too much, they had plenty of support for the same spending packages and gave Bush whatever he wanted (fools). The ignorant flag-waving American public now realizes they were pushed into war under false pretenses and lies.

Barrack's Wife: Michelle Obama Plays It Cool.
citizenbfk
by citizenbfk  10-9-2008    1
These people, this campaign, is incredible. I have never seen nor could even have imagined such consistent brillance. The more common reaction would be to toss insults back at McCain and instead she talks about respecting them and how Obama is going to need them! One of Obama's clever message (and I believe it's also sincere) is how Democrats, Republicans and Independents have to work together (appealing to them all), and how there is no 'Red States,' of America, nor 'Blue States,' of America -- but the United States of America (appealing to us all). Even direct enemies are invited in and it is another (I believe sincere) brilliant thing: It disarms the 'enemy,' and is a core of his political philosophy: Work Together: Consensus This has actually worked to soften significant Catholic opposition (due to the abortion issue; most difficult). (/About 56% Catholic opposition would lose the election). How? -- Allow abortions (regrettably) but work to build families; do adapti

Obama Joined Democratic Socialist Party In 1995
merrie
by merrie  10-9-2008    10
...the NP's '96 Political Program has been enormously successful with 3 of 4 endorsed candidates winning electoral primaries. All four candidates attended the NP membership meeting on April 11th to express their gratitude... Barack Obama, victor in the 13th State Senate District, encouraged NPers to join in his task forces on Voter Education and Voter Registration. Obama is not simply an ultra-liberal. He is a Marxist. He campaigned on the Socialist ticket, signed the Socialist contract, and attended Socialist meetings. I'll ask it again: just who in the hell is Barack Obama? And who sent him? Update: American Thinker, Gateway Pundit, Newsbusters and Jammie Wearing Fool have more. Original DSA newsletters: #47 and #42. Linked by: Ace o' Spades. Thanks!
