The sway artists DO control the elections. Without the "good" opinions, a guy who actually knows economic issues as a winner in that arena, was demolished by the press. Oh, so subtly ------- REPORTER: "Today we look at whether a Mormon can get elected in the United States."--------- --------------- My ASS! Shake yourselves. We've been drifting to some hybridized freak nation of Socialism/capitalism/Communism/shadow-dictatorship since long before Bush and both parties are patsies, tools. Both are complicit, half-braindead useful idiots. I am off to Belize. There is no going back. America has had its day.

Shameless Online Obama Support & Information
citizenbfk
by citizenbfk  9-9-2008    2
You donate a mere ten bucks and you get a blog site, plus on the Obama campaign’s web site. There’s an “Activist Dashboard,” Email network, subgroups, etc. Like in many computer games you can “build up resources,” gain points for Events hosted, Events attended, calls made, doors knocked, number of blog posted, groups joined, and other bare bones campaigning activities. It looks as good as a Sims Expansion pack, many RTS games, and less prone to financial risk as online gambling or stock trading. =:o)) As political junkies know, the elections are no longer have anything to do with delegates. Victory or Defeat is now in state-by-state, winner-take-all voting. National polls are almost meaningless. A nice map and update for this is at: http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/06/10/electoral.map/index.html Ohio, Michigan, Virginia and Florida are key battleground states and there is a so-called “Southwestern shootout.” In Arizona where I live, I’d do more good hel

RNC: Secret Service Shakes Down Ron Paul Delegates
blueridge
by blueridge  9-5-2008    2
This is the neo-republican convention where fascism is evident as if McCain is President and the 1st amendment does not exist. See what we mean about the change in the Republican Party? “You can’t bring that in here, this is Mc Cain territory” -- RNC Security Meanwhile the background music at some point is probably playing (like on Sean Hannity), "Let Freedom Ring...."

In the video, WA GOP delegate, Jacob Brassington recounts how he was bribed during the Washington State GOP Convention in an attempt to sway his principled Ron Paul support away to a lesser presidential candidate. That was just at the STATE convention, I am waiting to hear how much was offered at the NATIONAL convention, and I am betting it was more than $500 plus expenses! Would you sell out???

Ooooooooh, Sarah-Bara-COO-dah! If you read the actual lyrics though, this clearly is a song to be sung by Barack Obama. He's just realized that he's about to be ambushed from the weeds by the Barracuda, and forced to his knees. Not long ago, he and "the porpoise" (Joe Biden, pre-hair plugs) were just "Selling a song," with "no right, no wrong" — just playing "a whisper game" involving a "name." This is clearly a reference to the "McSame" meme on which they were relying so much. And "sell me, sell you," the porpoise and the singer croon to each other in close harmony. Oh, yeah: It's about Obama and Biden, all right.

Wrong Woman; Wrong Message
debbyski
by debbyski  9-4-2008    19
Her down-home, divisive and deceptive speech did nothing to cosmeticize a Republican convention that has more than twice as many male delegates as female, a presidential candidate who is owned and operated by the right wing and a platform that opposes pretty much everything Clinton's candidacy stood for -- and that Barack Obama's still does. I get no pleasure from imagining her in the spotlight on national and foreign policy issues about which she has zero background, with one month to learn to compete with Sen. Joe Biden's 37 years' experience. When asked last month about the vice presidency, she said, "I still can't answer that question until someone answers for me: What is it exactly that the VP does every day?" When asked about Iraq, she said, "I haven't really focused much on the war in Iraq."

Conservatives Claim "Liberal Media."
citizenbfk
by citizenbfk  9-3-2008    4
 A) We do not have a liberal media; it's a corporate controlled media. The lack of coverage of the fine speeches of the war protest groups this week at the RNC, for example, shows the media bias. There IS massive opposition the the war; the news just doesn't cover it. Claiming "liberal media," is propaganda. B)Though our American media does like to zoom in on the crotch of teenage girls who have sex that doesn't mean they are "liberal," but rather just a degenerate example of a decaying civilization that thinks this is "News." In fact, Obama (a so-called, 'liberal,') was Very Clear: "Leave familes out of our politics, esp. the children of candidates." Any parent knows that no matter what they do or say their kids might screw around or screw up. This IS the prevailing reaction of real people along with what Obama said. The Republicans are playing this up deliberately. it does show the flaw, though, of Palin's sex ed idea of teaching ONLY abstinence as sex ed.

That may be but the bubble of self-inflicted delusion is alive and well: "I regard Bush 43 as one of the greatest presidents of the last century, right up there with Reagan, and I have tremendous respect and admiration for what he's done," said Clint Moore, a Texas delegate. In what parallel universe?

Are We Safer Now?
AtlLiberal
by AtlLiberal  8-31-2008    1
I doubt if the public's safety was forefront in this misguided attempt to silence protest during the RNC. Partly because of hysterical paranoia of terrorists the powers that be have long used the pretense of protection to denigrate and undermine our most basic rights and freedoms. And do we stand up and raise our fists in anger over theses blatant stabs to our freedoms? Afraid not. It seems everyone just sits back in their easy chairs and watches as the powers that be wall off protesters to Orwellian "Protest Zones". Yes, bad people want to do us harm. But a modicum of sanity should accompany our plans to provide a reasonable level of protection from these people. As it is now, this smacks more of politics than of legitimate protection.

Pre-RNC raids: so who hates freedom now?

Doesn't look like any evidence has been uncovered thus far of intent to commit anything beyond non-violent protests. Kind of an unnerving story if you ask me, but, hey, it's a post-9/11 world, and the cops are just trying to keep us all safe, right? (It's funny, when I was a kid growing up in the eighties, there used to be after-school specials about how this kind of thing happened in apartheid South Africa.)

Brass Knuckles and Party Unity
merrie
by merrie  8-26-2008
Bubba, feeling his pain, wants to talk about securing the Clintons' future, and particularly about all the good things he did when he was president. It's all about respect he counts as his due from the Democratic wing of the Clinton Party. It's not like Hillary didn't win everything fair and square. The Democrats here are more than a little concerned about their man's slide in the polls; Gallup on Monday said the race is tied at 45-all. The news may get worse. There's the story now afloat that an Obama half brother is living in grim poverty in Kenya, scratching out a bare living on a dollar a month while the senator lives in luxury on $5 million a year. Far worse, a summerlong controversy continues about when and where the senator was actually born, and whether the circumstances of his birth could cloud his eligibility to serve. The Obama campaign has been reluctant to produce a birth certificate. The Clintons are surely trying to help sort this out.
