POPSBad Economy Benefits Some Animals Private groups involved in wilderness preservation are also benefiting from the economic situation. They too are buying up real estate that's being sold below its appraised value. Groups like Save Mount Diablo are buying such properties, which they plan to turn over to local or state park districts.

POPSYou Know You’re From Tennessee If… 13. You describe the first cool snap (below 70 degrees) as good pinto-bean weather. 14. A carbonated soft drink isn’t a soda, cola or pop…it’s a Coke, regardless of brand or flavor. Example: “What kinda coke you want?” 15. Fried catfish is the other white meat. 16. You understand these jokes and forward them to your friends from Tennessee (and those who just wish they were).

POPSThe Human Element I've known many sportsmen/women who love nature and hunting. Their efforts actually strengthen the deer herd by keeping the buck/doe ratio in check, keeping the deer population from being over bred and diseased, supplemental feeding of the right vitamins and minerals throughout the year, etc. I've picked up countless deer antlers in the woods and used them for all kinds of projects. The vile people who spot-light or run these animals on ATV for antlers or whatever make me ill. I'm an owner of a ATV and I ride it on my property ONLY. Anything else is disrespectful of other's and it affects those people who are responsible. Is there a solution to some who will break the law for material gain? It's the human element I suppose. One I abhor.
