POPSParents charged in death of 16 yr old Their case has focused attention on some laws that let parents rely on prayer to heal their children. Marci Hamilton, a professor at Cardozo Law School, who writes about religious issues, said the case may test Oregon's religious freedom laws and may prompt other states to re-examine their spiritual healing laws. "There was a time when we were willing to permit these children to be lost, but there are increasingly more prosecutions and lawsuits," she said. "Children should not be permitted to be the testing ground for their parents' faith or secular views if it's going to result in their death."

POPSIn MN, It's Still the Al Franken Decade The poll isn't without controversy, however. A SurveyUSA poll finds almost the opposite, with Coleman leading Franken by 10. Still, there's something hinky about SUSA's polling in Minnesota. It's been in wild disagreement with most other polls. Coleman points to SUSA's numbers, but I doubt that -- in his little heart of hearts -- he finds much comfort in them. "DFL" is Democratic-Farmer-Labor party, BTW. The official name of the state Democratic party.

POPSWho is Left? "This touches directly on the question of what, beyond the platitudes of unity, hope, and change, Obama himself believes in. His voting record is one indication. Another is his intellectual evolution."

POPSCommunist Grunt Organization MoveOn.org Endorses Obama (cont.)You go to this march with your anti war sign, and all these propagandists come up to you (many of them, not just one) and try to "convert" you to communism. It personally makes me sick. Of course I can't speak for anyone else, but I believe communism as a whole, in practice and in theory, to be the most atrocious idea for freedom I've ever heard. It makes sense if you already know the Illuminati were the ones responsible for communism in the first place. Karl Marx was a high level Freemason long after Freemasonry had been infiltrated by the Illuminati. He worked for the Illuminati bankers in New York City, where they taught him what he needed to do in Russia, then sent him on his merry way.

POPSAustralia in biosecurity hotspot Germs don't need a passport. We cannot encase ourselves in a bubble. We cannot stop the evolution of pathogens. Our best defense is in our own immune systems. We need to know more about our immune system, than the germs, because lethal strains can develop at random. Our immune system is something we all have in common.

POPSUnited Nations Public Policy!!! Dum dee dum dummmmmmm!!!!
Blamed for about one-fifth of the world’s greenhouse gases, meat production produces the ever-popular ;) methane gas from the flatulence of cattle–something these vegetarians like to say is much worse for the atmosphere than carbon dioxide. Aren’t you merely speculating at best putting forth such bold statements about meat and global warming without any real evidence that makes your point? How can a group like the United Nations stand behind such an extreme position when the foundation for it is so incredibly suspect? Dr. Pachauri spoke at an event held by an animal rights group called Compassion in World Farming which has called on the people of Great Britain to cut their meat consumption in half to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by even more than if they cut their driving in half. In fact, they are pushing for governments around the world to mandate a reduction of meat consumption by upwards of 60 percent by the year 2020. Well, yippee freakin’ skippy!

POPSHarvard Dean focused on educational change In a CNN article on the lack of focus on education in the presidential campaign, Kathleen McCartney, Dean of the Harvard Graduate School of Education, calls on the public to drive the issues so that the candidates respond - and one of the key ways to do that is through effective early childhood education . . . before a child ever reaches school.
