Making an Arguement for Misspelling
Kelika
by Kelika  8-19-2008
Love the title of this article. "Most teachers expect to correct their students' spelling mistakes once in a while. But Ken Smith has had enough. The senior lecturer in criminology at Bucks New University in Buckinghamshire, England, sees so many misspellings in papers submitted by first-year students that he says we'd be better off letting the perpetrators off the hook and doing away with certain spelling rules altogether."

New Research Shows Child Victims Keep Getting Victimized
cementedminds
by cementedminds  6-4-2007
As I observed elsewhere, however, what the article doesn't acknowledge, I think, is that victims of crimes of violence (and sexual assault) are often perpetrators, also, and that being a victimiser and a victim are often two sides of the same coin. So it's not just about identifying and providing support for victims, it's also about trying to intervene with their own offending at the same time.

Oakland: we're number 1! (not that that's a good thing)

More September 11ths -- A Pattern?
blueridge
by blueridge  12-24-2007
Criminology 101 includes the observation of "signatures" by criminals that leave their mark, a pattern in their crimes. Remember Clinton rejected the neocons plan to take down Saddam and was shortly thereafter "Lewinskied". Did anyone recall that the Cessna that crashed into the Clinton White House was also done on Sept. 11th? There appears to be a pattern to Sept. 11th in the recent decade. (Freemasons also killed Morgan on Sept. 11th which led to the anti-masonry movement in the 1800s--the first "third party" in America. The number or derivatives of 11 is common superstitious practice of numerology for Masonic dates and ceremonial events).

This is your life (and how you tell it)

I absolutely agree with this. The research that I do is heavily focused on personal narratives and subjective experiences. I want first-hand knowledge of their 'first-hand' knowledge.
