Disneyfied Vaginas Questioned by Cranky British Researchers
zizzy
by zizzy  11-11-2009    2
It's distracting to have imperfections while naked with a man, ... Being a human being with idiosyncratic features can feel weird after taking in the cultural obsession with cookie-cutter beauty, and if you're cursed with a partner willing to vocalize his disappointment with your human body, it can be even worse. But it's a shame that most of us absorb this nonsense. ... if you can clear your head of all this perfectionist, conformist pressure, appreciating people's little differences can be more fun and certainly more sexy ... In fact, I often look at the sea of airbrushing and plastic surgery and Brazilian waxing, and I see a profound prudery at the bottom of it, a fear of truly embracing sexuality. The airbrushed plastic perfection promoted by Playboy and Maxim magazine are to sex as EPCOT Center is to world travel: experience simulation for those too cowardly to truly dive in, but too egotistical to admit their cowardice.

Ridiculous and False Article: Francis Scott Key Emerges from Grave, Demands His Poem Back
zizzy
by zizzy  9-8-2009    1
It is so absurd to write that Francis Scott Key would advocate for President Barack Hussein Obama and be chummy with Karl Marx. Key was a member of The Society for the Colonization of Free People of Color (a.k.a The American Colonization Society). Their goal was to emigrate all free blacks to Africa (see Liberia). The membership included Henry Clay, Andrew Jackson, Daniel Webster, and Stephen Douglas. Supreme Court Justice Bushrod Washington (nephew of George), was elected as its president. The most distinguished members of ACS were all slaveholders. The ACS raised funds and purchased the Elizabeth which sailed to West Africa in 1820. As a slaveholder, aristocrat and member of the exclusive club, Wealthy White Male Property Owners, Key would probably smack Karl Marx with a copy of the Wall Street Journal for uttering, workers of the word unite . Key was an Evangelical Episcopalian and as such, he'd burn Marx at the stake for his views on religion.

Obama faces growing anger on the left

Wanda Sykes, a gay woman just a few feet from the Most Powerful Anti-Gay Marriage Man On The Planet -- and she lacked the sand to bring the issue up even once. Her cowardice, however, extends to this interview: MW: It’s no secret you love the current president. SYKES: Yes. MW: There’s been a lot of criticism leveled at the Obama administration for not moving quickly enough on gay issues. What’s your take? SYKES: I think the criticism is justified. However, he has a lot on his plate right now and can’t solve everything . He hasn’t been in office a year yet. I say just give him some time. Of course, we should be vocal and point out and say, “When is it our turn?” But let’s not be too critical and do anything that moves us backwards.

Economic Credulus Part II
merrie
by merrie  7-11-2009    2
Seeing as we now own GM, theoretically it should be easier for us to make that happen. Pro-rate it based on what percentage of each company’s final product is actually made in America. I’d suggest shooting a few overpaid under performing chief executives, too, as long as we’re going into wartime crisis mode. You know what they say. Nothing focuses the mind like an execution. Divert all other allocated stimulus funds to actual shovel-ready projects. Stuff that needs to be built or fixed. Anything that needs to be researched or studied or is based on developing a new theoretical economy, as opposed to boosting the one that actually exists, sorry. Boost military spending, recruiting and pay. It’s clear none of the threats to the United States have evaporated, even though everyone likes us better. The military is stressed, in need of a refit. This is also a great alternative to boosting unemployment payments.

Welcome To Holder at War ~ by Andrew McCarthy
merrie
by merrie  4-5-2009    1
It was enacted because paramilitary courses factored into all those terrorist attacks from the 1990s that “we as a nation” missed the significance of. Holder hasn’t explained how turning trained jihadists loose on the infidels that they were training to kill is consistent with his new war mentality (a war in which, at his direction, we no longer call enemy combatants “enemy combatants”). Nor is it clear how this comports with his “responsibility . . . for the safety of this nation” and his obligation to enforce U.S. statutes. When he is not bravely lecturing Americans about their cowardice on race, our attorney general is running roughshod over his Office of Legal Counsel (OLC) — and shamefully politicizing his Solicitor General’s Office — in order to uphold patently unconstitutional legislation, the D.C. Voting Rights Act, that hasn’t even been enacted yet.

WHITE FEATHERS ANYONE?
thinkingblue
by thinkingblue  3-23-2009
World War I the First World War was dubbed The Great War and The War to End All Wars. How soon we forget the devastation of war that are started by governments. It's apparent that no one really learns from history, if they did, the term "WAR" itself would have been laid to rest alongside words like Shell-shock, and Trench Warfare: (I wonder who thought that one up?) http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/A21605979 We the people are led into war like lemmings. As soon as one of the world government, Big Kahunas decide it's time for a War, the propaganda machines start to sputter. Of course if the moment is right, as in, massive business failures and enormous unemployment, (sound familiar?) it's a lot easier to line the lemmings up for their cliff plunge. With times the way they are today, the probability that some world war will break out, is at full peak. if ya think it's bad now, JUST WAIT, TILL A PRETTY MISS HANDS YOU, SOME WHITE FEATHERS. http://thinkingblue.blogspot.com

All it takes is a local boob CLAIMING you defamed the pedophile muhammad or insulted islam. That alone gets you your very own case number. This is “freedom” under the shackles of islam. And imbecile apologists in the West keep droning on about how islam is peace, and make excuses for the barbarians that commit these heinous acts on a daily basis. They refuse to admit, either out of cowardice, or collusion with the enemy, that islam offers nothing resembling the right to free speech guaranteed by the Bill Of Rights. Israeli "reprisals death ratio" INFINITY for Gaza & USS Liberty
ratcatcher2
by ratcatcher2  1-17-2009    2
The Israeli “reprisals death ratio” in the current Gaza Massacre (1,220 Gazans killed versus NO Israelis killed by Gaza rockets in the previous year) is 1,220/0 = INFINITY, the same as for the 1967 Israeli USS Liberty Massacre. Aggressor military machines keep their military personnel happy, generate terror and attempt to smash resistance by disproportionate reprisals against their enemies. This can be measured by a “reprisals death ratio” of “enemy deaths”/’own deaths”. As set out below, the aggressor “reprisals death ratio” was (A) 10 (Nazis in Italy, 1944) and (B) 5,000 (UK after the Indian Mutiny, 1857) but for (C) the current Israeli Gaza Massacre it is INFINITY – 1,220 Gazans killed in response to NO (0) Israeli deaths from Gaza rockets in the previous year, the same as for (D) in 1967 when the Israelis deliberately murdered 34 USS Liberty sailors despite NO Israeli deaths from the non-hostile, defenceless Americans located in international watets ...  Hemingway was an amazing man - a rare talent. Sometimes happy, sometimes morose but always entertaining We may never know what made him decide to take his own life (outside of despondency), but we can learn from the ultimate "tough man.' Hemingway's Cabana is still preserved as it was in Cubs. He was a personal favorite of Fidel Castro and a cultural icon to the people of Cuba.

Congress approval rating just 10%
dl211
by dl211  10-3-2008
"A political establishment held in higher regard may have been able to hold together some kind of coalition of the willing," wrote Joel Achenbach in the Washington Post. "But distrust of the nation's leaders, from the leaders of Congress to the president, foreclosed that possibility." This was not mere rhetoric. Congress's public approval rating was down to 18% before the crisis hit. By some estimates, it is now 10% and falling. Washington has seen a "throw the bums out" mood before, notably Newt Gingrich's 1994 anti-government "Republican revolution". But this is something else. Like some others, Gingrich is calling for the resignation of Hank Paulson, the treasury secretary, for presiding over a train wreck and then failing to persuade people why $700bn was needed to get back on the rails.

From a thread on BoingBoing, discussing 9/21/07, the day on which 19-year-old MIT engineering student Star Simpson walked into Boston's Logan International Airport wearing a home-made light-up sweatshirt, and asked an airport worker for information about a friend's arriving flight. ...in a persisting environment of anxiety over terrorism, a Boston Logan Airport worker mistook Star Simpson's LED-adorned wearable tech garment for a suicide bomb. That airport worker phoned Boston police. A small misunderstanding over a hoodie quickly became a surreal debacle during which police said they came close to killing Ms. Simpson.

Obama ad attacks abortion survivor and lies about McCain
n2sooners
by n2sooners  9-19-2008
“Mr. Obama is clearly blinded by political ambition given his attack on me this week. All I asked of him was to do the right thing: support medical care and protection for babies who survive abortion – as I did 31 years ago. He voted against such protection and care four times even though the U.S. Senate voted 98-0 in favor of a bill identical to the one Obama opposed. In the words of his own false and misleading ad, his position is downright vile. Mr. Obama said at the recent Saddleback Forum that the question of when babies should get human rights was above his pay grade. Such vacillation and cowardice would have left me to die if his policies were in place when I was born. Thank God they were not.”

That "world opinion" at this moment allegedly loathes America and Israel is a badge of honor to be worn proudly by those countries. It is when "world opinion" and its news media start liking you that you should wonder if you've lost your way. "

Courage of the flip-flop: Has McCain got it?
righthand
by righthand  7-5-2008    2
Like when it was demonstrated to him that his religious companions were bigots that advocated murder. Was it cowardice or courage or the pope and the Catholics that made him have such a radical change of mind and dump his fundamentalist 'friends'? Apparently they have dumped him back. Hagee has put out a statement saying that he withdraws his endorsement from McCain because he has “become a distraction in what should be a national debate about important issues.” It takes one type of courage to drop bombs from the sky. Another altogether to order men into battle. A far greater courage to bring home the troops. Which courage does McCain have? Bush landed on a carrier. He wore the uniform. Did he demonstrate any courage?
