POPSNHL Drives Buzz with Tweetups
This is a pretty cool casy study on how the National Hockey League (who haven't always been the best marketers) stimulated buzz and interest around the playoffs last year by holding tweet-ups in NHL cities. They did this in both playoff and non-playoff cities - so it was really targeted toward the hard-core fan who just enjoys the sport. When I was with Flying Dog Brewery, we had good success creating tweetups to build stronger awareness and relationships with our consumers. But the cool thing is that loyal consumer who would come to the event would almost always bring someone who was less familiar with the brand, so we got to talk to a partially new audience. The great thing about tweetups is that you can really build the event around any theme because the objective is to come and meet like-minded people. Whether it's the love of hockey, beer or charity event if you get the word out to the right people and throw out an interesting offer for their attendance, people will come

Deepika Padukone, A-list starlet and the most graceful actress of Indian cinema, has bagged a Yash Raj film, the title of which is yet to be announced. Deepika will be paired with co-star Neil Nitin Mukesh and is all set to play an extremely challenging role in the love story to be set on the gritty streets of Mumbai. The film is scheduled to release in 2010 and promises to portray Deepika in a never seen before role. The film will be directed by National award-winning director Pradeep Sarkar (of Parineeta fame).Yash Raj Films is certainly on a roll with cool and new jodi's for their productions. We just saw. POPSArmy Experience Center's Bad Experience: Turns out Training Kids to Kill Not Popular with Public September 12, 2009, a crowd of 250 activists marched to the AEC in opposition to the use of public dollars to teach children--in a quasi-public-space--that killing can be fun, while also recruiting eighteen-year-olds to engage in the real thing. This time, police arrested six protesters and one journalist. The journalist, Cheryl Biren, wasn't with the protesters but was picked out of the crowd, apparently because of her professional camera. Days prior to this long-planned and publicly announced protest, the Army preemptively announced that it would likely close the AEC and not open any others in shopping malls, as had been planned. The reason? Are you ready to hear this? By their own admission, the Army doesn't need any more recruits because the bad economy has driven up recruitment significantly.

For much of the 1980s and 1990s, it was in a positive cycle, that means warmer than average. And observations have revealed that global temperatures were warm too. But in the last few years it has been losing its warmth and has recently started to cool down. These cycles in the past have lasted for nearly 30 years.
