POPSThe Open House Party at the White House Luaus, Superbowl parties, salsa dancing, dunking booth, golf outings, movies with the 3d glasses, breathless plane trips to dinner, Beverly Hills, hula-hooping....wtf? Oprah and Clooney. Fergie and the Easter bunny.... The economy crumbles while the White House parties their ass off. Ridiculous and embarrassing. And the Democrats say they best represent the common man, Joe Sixpack? Please. The common man is in bankruptcy or being foreclosed on and working day in and day out. The is a bleeping travesty.

POPS Repaving Slave Street
Demanding unquestioning submission, Obama has set about using liberal principles laid as a horsewhip to the back of freedom. Obama offers the false promise of free honey " beckoning Americans inside the gates of the plantation herding them into the field to work with the goal of collecting sweat to “redistribute” for the common good. In an effort to retain power through, “leveling the social and economic playing field” Obama’s slave owner policy initiatives tether Americans to a ball and chain style of socialistic governance that is realized by enslaving those who would otherwise be free. The President’s utopian aspiration is on track to transform Americans into chattel trapped within a restrictive dependency, robbing us of God-given liberty, preventing the acquisition of property and thwarting individual pursuit of happiness. Obama refuses to appreciate that the type of collectivist schema he campaigns for fosters a shadow of the slavery his wife’s ancestors struggled

POPSClub of Rome "The real enemy then, is humanity itself." According to its website, the Club of Rome is composed of "scientists, economists, businessmen, international high civil servants, heads of state and former heads of state from all five continents who are convinced that the future of humankind is not determined once and for all and that each human being can contribute to the improvement of our societies." "Searching for a new enemy to unite us..." POPSWorld's oldest human-linked skeleton’s found ‘Ardi’ predates Lucy by a million years, changes scientific view of origins WASHINGTON - The story of humankind is reaching back another million years with the discovery of “Ardi,” a hominid who lived 4.4 million years ago in what is now Ethiopia. The 110-pound, 4-foot female roamed forests a million years before the famous Lucy, long studied as the earliest skeleton of a human ancestor. This older skeleton reverses the common wisdom of human evolution, said anthropologist C. Owen Lovejoy of Kent State University.

POPSFlu Symptoms: What You Might Feel ... and just plain feeling sick. Swine flu may also cause vomiting and diarrhea. These flu symptoms usually last for 3 to 4 days, but cough and tiredness may linger for up to 2 weeks after the fever has gone away. Other family members or close contacts often have a similar illness. For in-depth information, see WebMD's Children and Flu. Children and Flu Some parents think the flu is a stomach bug. But while children may have nausea and/or vomiting with flu, the key influenza symptoms in children include a high fever, chills and shakes, body aches, and a dry hacking cough. http://www.webmd.com/cold-and-flu/flu-guide/children-and-flu-influenza

POPSTop Percenters - Raise our Taxes Now We would see a minimal tax increase -- from 35% to 39.6%, a rate still far lower than the one under President Reagan -- but the increased revenue would raise an estimated $43 billion per year. The group’s founders include Chuck Collins, who inherited some of the Oscar Mayer meat fortune and who has long been involved in agitating on income-inequality issues. He may be best known for co-authoring the 2003 book "Wealth and Our Commonwealth: Why America Should Tax Accumulated Fortunes" with Bill Gates Sr. The book made the case for retaining the federal estate tax. Wealth for the Common Good on Tuesday sent its request to President Obama and to House and Senate leaders, including a petition with more than 1,000 signatures.

POPSStop Saying, "Not My Type." “Nah, not my type,” Jack whispered to me. This was at a party we attended last weekend, where a common friend introduced us to a pretty girl. Considering that he always emphasizes on the need to “think out of the box,” his boxed idea of making friends was rather surprising.

POPSYoung Americans don't trust banks... I'm not at all sure that this dis-trust in limited to just the "young Americans" group anymore. This sentiment is increasingly common amongst my older associates in Canada.

POPSSelf-loathing FTA: Here is a trick: Recognize that there are different ways to look at things. Realize that you tend to bump into elephants from the same perspective, characterologically, but that you can change perspective and see things in a different way, just as "real." Understand that you can change your perspective and therefor your reality and that from some perspectives you are more likely to be happy and safe than from others. Resolve that you are going to practice trying to look at things in a variety of ways and pick your reality.

POPSGenome-wide study of autism published in Nature "The biggest challenge to finding the genes that contribute to autism is having a large and well studied group of patients and their family members, both for primary discovery of genes and to test and verify the discovery candidates," said Aravinda Chakravarti, professor of medicine, pediatrics and molecular biology and genetics at the McKusick-Nathans Institute of Genetic Medicine at Johns Hopkins, and one of the study's senior authors. "This latest finding would not have been possible without these many research groups and consortia pooling together their patient resources. Of course, they would not have been possible without the genomic scanning technologies either."

POPSFormer Secret Service Tell-All: Jimmy Carter a Fake, Phony, Liar Not surprising to me, but Reagan and Bush got the best reviews...the nicest. Read it and weep: http://www.northstarnational.com/2009/10/14/secret-service-agent-opens-window-private-lives-presidents/ Carter “didn’t want the police officers and agents looking at him or speaking to him when he went to the office,” explained an assistant White House usher. “The only time I saw a smile on Carter’s face was when the cameras were going,” one former agent told Kessler. After his presidency, Kessler reports that when Carter would stay at a townhouse maintained for former presidents in D.C., he would take down pictures of other presidents and put up more pictures of himself! “The Carters were the biggest liars in the world,” one agent told Kessler of the Carter era. Not surprising, liberals say they're for the common man; in an episode of Fringe maybe.

POPSSuspension Lifted for 1st grader Finally a common sense decision. When i read about this yesterday it made my blood boil and i did email the school. More people should express their pinions, sometimes it helps. Not that they paid any attention at all to my rambling. But i did point out that schools have gone to far. IT'S one thing to protect our kids but common sense needs to be used as well. Otherwise the terrorists did accomplish their mission by placing this country in such a paranoid state we may as well have let the Nazi's win. "Do as we say and like it" is what i thought we we fighting against in Arab world and other countries. Point is never feel complacent and like anything you have to say don't matter. Maybe as single input it don't but when merged with hundreds of others people take notice. Speak up and fight for what you think is right otherwise we are no longer a free country. Rather led by the hand being told what and what not to do.

POPSHurricane Ike's Delayed Gifts for Galveston Island While the more common plants probably came from other island yards, Evans thinks the tiny tomatoes might have come all the way from the Caribbean. “Other people out here on the East End have had that same little tomato,” he said. “No one recognized it, and then I heard by word of mouth that they had come from Cuba. I’m willing to believe that, but I don’t know that it’s true.” Experts cannot verify Evans’ claim, but the unknown origin of the volunteer plants hasn’t kept gardeners from enjoying them. Sounds plausible to me, knowing that our seasonal seaweed (Sargasso) that washes ashore every year comes from hundreds of miles off the east coast in the Atlantic ocean.
