Climategate: You should be steamed
dl211
by dl211  1-5-2010    1
Third, and most important, skeptics believe that climate models are grossly overpredicting future warming from rising concentrations of carbon dioxide. We are being told that numerical models that cannot make accurate 5- to 10-day forecasts can be simplified and run forward for 100 years with results so reliable you can impose an economic disaster on the U.S. and the world. The revelation of Climategate occurs at a time when the accuracy of the climate models is being seriously questioned. Over the last decade Earth's temperature has not warmed, yet every model (there are many) predicted a significant increase in global temperatures for that time period. If the climate models cannot get it right for the past 10 years, why should we trust them for the next century?

Fraud: the one constant in the global warming hysteria
dl211
by dl211  1-5-2010
IPCC assessment reports, and particularly their Summaries for Policymakers (SPM), are noted for their selective use of information and their bias to support the political goal of control of fossil fuels in order to fight an alleged anthropogenic global warming (AGW). So the Kyoto protocol was based on fictitious science, exaggerated or fabricated outright for political purposes. The same Professor Santer who hijacked the Second Assessment Report figures prominently in Climategate. Many of his emails were disclosed by the East Anglia whistleblower; among other things, they show Santer resisting all efforts by independent scientists to obtain information, through Freedom of Information Act requests, about the statistical manipulations that Santer applies to raw climate data to “prove” the existence of anthropogenic global warming.

Today Pachauri reversed course and instead launched a defense of the climate scientists that have been accused of collusion, modification and deletion of data and a host of other offenses. He said that he felt the scientists “are being unfairly targeted.” Pachauri said, “The persons who have worked on this report, and those who unfortunately have been victims of this terrible and illegal act, are outstanding scientists, and have contributed enormously over the 20, 21 years of the existence of the IPCC.” Pachauri stated that his only concern was finding out who was behind it, not if there are any problems with the science behind the manmade climate change theory or the scientists that formulated it. "I think this is an illegal act. The only issue that has to be dealt with as far as this occurrence is concerned is to find out who is behind it," he said.

"We the People" of the USA Received An Extension of Our Liberty

Real strongman tyrants like Chavez have no use for tyrant wannabes. Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez said he “still” smelled sulfur after President Obama made a keynote speech at the Copenhagen climate conference Friday, accusing the American president of carrying the same satanic scent that Chavez believes followed Obama’s predecessor, George W. Bush. The big loser in Copenhagen was Obama’s credibility. Obama’s charisma no longer carries the day for him. Obama apparently spent about $10 million of our taxpayer money on his big carbon footprint trip to Copenhagen. The World has determined that Obama has no courage and no Plan B. This is good for us because it will keep Obama from passing his massive Cap and Trade Tax and from passing a destructive ObamaCare plan. Any ObamaCare that is passed can be rescinded after the 2010 General Elections. On the other hand, having a Commander and Chief who lacks courage and credibility and is played

by merrie  Yesterday 5:40 PM    2
Since CIA satellite data is secret, those opposing the Cap and Trade Tax and anthropomorphic climate change may have no access to any data quoted by the Democrats. The article by William J. Broad went on to say, Secrecy cloaks the monitoring effort, as well as the nation’s intelligence work, because the United States wants to keep foes and potential enemies in the dark about the abilities of its spy satellites and other sensors. The images that the scientific group has had declassified, for instance, have had their sharpness reduced to hide the abilities of the reconnaissance satellites. Controversy has often dogged the use of federal intelligence gear for environmental monitoring. In October, days after the C.I.A. opened a small unit to assess the security implications of climate change, Senator John Barrasso, Republican of Wyoming, Has President Obama reassigned CIA assets .....

The Oxygen Dilemma: Can Too Much O2 Kill?
thisnamecantbetaken
by thisnamecantbetaken  1-5-2010    5
I've been hearing some climate change skeptics use the argument, that CO2 is a benign gas and therefore can cause no harm to the environment. I clipped this article, to highlight, that whether or not a substance is "benign" or not, or natural, is not the issue. It's the disruption of BALANCE and concentration of various chemicals, that is the issue. Table salt is pretty non-toxic, but concentrations in the body beyond the mere 0.9 percent can kill you, which is why you'd die of dehydration if you drank sea water. We can all agree, that ordinary drinking water is probably the most benign substance we know, yet if you drink too much of it, it can kill you, too. Climate change is about the disruption of the balance of nature, not about the *toxicity* of the chemicals involved, in itself, so THIS particular argument used by skeptics is not valid. Just sayin'...

IPCC Head Pachauri: It's All A Terrible Conspiracy

What’s more, he hasn’t made a penny out of all the advice he gives to carbon trading businesses and such-like: As for pecuniary benefits from advice that I may be rendering to profit making organisations, these payments are all made directly to my institute, without a single penny being received by me. It’s the poor who stand to suffer most from any further delay on climate-change legislation says this deeply ascetic man: Delay in reducing emissions of greenhouse gases would only lead to worse impacts of climate change and growing hardship for the most vulnerable regions in the world, which are also unfortunately some of the poorest communities on earth. He is telling us all this because we need to be vigilant against the dark forces of denialism and scepticism which, like the Orcish hordes of Mordor, threaten in the coming year to trample all over The Shire and its peaceful, honest, vegetarian community of scientists .....

Burj Dubai, The First Superscraper

Dubai was forced to swallow its pride today and rename the world's tallest building after the ruler of Abu Dhabi " the neighbouring emirate that saved the city-state from financial collapse. The humiliating announcement was made by Dubai’s ruler at the dazzling launch of the $1.5 billion ( 930 million) Burj Dubai, which will now be known as Burj Khalifa, in honour of Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed bin Sultan al-Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates. The opening ceremony for the Burj was marked by a dazzling fireworks display that wreathed the tower in stars and smoke. The final height of the tower, which has been shrouded in secrecy, was also revealed to be 2,717ft (828 metres). But the launch, which was intended to be the crowning glory of the emirate's emergence on to the world stage, exposed the reality that Dubai’s achievements are no longer its own while Abu Dhabi is picking up the cheque. In the past 12 months Dubai has witnessed the collapse of its

Facts for Predicting Global Cooling for the Next Three Decades
amgumen
by amgumen  1-3-2010
Global warming (i.e, the warming since 1977) is over. The minute increase of anthropogenic CO2 in the atmosphere (0.008%) was not the cause of the warming—it was a continuation of natural cycles that occurred over the past 500 years. The PDO cool mode has replaced the warm mode in the Pacific Ocean, virtually assuring us of about 30 years of global cooling, perhaps much deeper than the global cooling from about 1945 to 1977. Just how much cooler the global climate will be during this cool cycle is uncertain. Recent solar changes suggest that it could be fairly severe, perhaps more like the 1880 to 1915 cool cycle than the more moderate 1945-1977 cool cycle. A more drastic cooling, similar to that during the Dalton and Maunder minimums, could plunge the Earth into another Little Ice Age, but only time will tell if that is likely.

Dr. North's One Man Crusade To Expose Corruption (undated and bumped)
merrie
by merrie  1-3-2010    2
If it were otherwise, it would be a massive conflict of interest the likes of which would be tortious were the IPCC a U.S. corporation. And were the IPCC a U.S. governmental organization, acting under such a pecuniary conflict of interest would likely be a crime under 18 U.S.C 208. As bad as Al Gore is - he has made over $100 million if not much, much more in the past decade shilling for global warming - at least he holds no official position by which he can directly effect how AGW (anthropogenic global warming) science is portrayed and how it is pursued at the international level. But what if the Chairman of the UN's IPCC held every bit as much a stake in pushing the theory of AGW as Al Gore? Something would really stink in Denmark then. And that something would be Rajendra Pachauri, the UN's IPCC Chairman.

IPCC's Dr Rajendra Pachauri: TERI-Europe, The Enigma
merrie
by merrie  1-3-2010    4
First, as we reported yesterday, we have the 30,417 donated by DEFRA, paid to TERI Europe via Cambridge University to cover Pachauri's salary and travel in producing a Synthesis Report of the IPCC AR4. Then, gleaned from the IRS return submitted by TERI-NA (North America) for the financial year ending in 2009, we get the information that a $27,000 donation was made by the Germehausen Foundation, "to support outreach efforts on the fourth assessment report of the IPCC." The cash was remitted to TERI India, its obvious intended recipient being R K Pachauri. Now we have the European Climate Foundation which, in the grant year 2009, makes a donation of an unspecified amount, direct to TERI India. This is to "facilitate meetings between Dr R K Pachauri and key European decision makers in support of an international agreement on climate change." This one should be of special interest to James Delingpole who reveals in his latest piece that he has a family friend who works .....

Visit its website and you’ll quickly appreciate how this supposedly authoritative and balanced taxpayer-funded body has become the most strident activist on behalf of the global climate-fear-promotion movement. According to the Met Office’s official climate change guide, computer models are “reliable”, the “overwhelming majority of scientists agree on the fundamentals of climate change”, human activity is a major driver of climate change and the Urban Heat Island Effect is an urban myth.

The wording of the treaty creates governmental bodies with a vast array of power over environmental affairs. The treaty gives these new governmental bodies tremendous power over the lives of every man, woman and child on earth. It even grants these new governmental authorities authority over the U.S. government and the U.S. Constitution. "Tax the American economy to the extent of 2 percent GDP, to impose a further tax of 2 percent on every financial transaction.and to close down effectively the economies of the west, transfer your jobs to third world countries all of that is still in the treaty draft." 700 new organizations that would be crawling all over the world micromanaging the lives of every man, woman and child - making sure that they are adhering to the edicts of the new environmental world laws.
