POPSWarrior and Hero laid to rest, his articulate widow speaks: "During an emotional address to the cathedral where her husband was once head chorister, Mrs Schmid warned world leaders - and the public - not to forget the sacrifice made by Staff Sergeant Schmid and countless others like him. 'In my eyes, my husband - my son's father - was a warrior,' she said. 'Warriors are unique. Our protectors - not destroyers. 'In past conflicts, where there was an immediate threat to our shores and our existence, soldiers were never plagued with self- doubt about the value of their role in society, and a people and their soldiers were once close in unity."

POPSBrain Tumor Survivors Shouldn't Take It Easy The mice that were able to exercise scored just as well on a memory test as normal mice did; however, the mice that did not have access to the exercise wheel did not. "It was remarkable that the irradiated, running mice were just like the normal, non-irradiated mice that didn't exercise," lead researcher and graduate student Sarah Wong-Goodrich of the Duke Department of Psychology and Neuroscience, was quoted as saying. "We were expecting some memory retention issues with a longer delay and there weren't any." The researchers believe exercise benefits the mind by improving blood flow to the hippocampus in the brain, a key area for learning and memory.

POPSSuspension Lifted for 1st grader Finally a common sense decision. When i read about this yesterday it made my blood boil and i did email the school. More people should express their pinions, sometimes it helps. Not that they paid any attention at all to my rambling. But i did point out that schools have gone to far. IT'S one thing to protect our kids but common sense needs to be used as well. Otherwise the terrorists did accomplish their mission by placing this country in such a paranoid state we may as well have let the Nazi's win. "Do as we say and like it" is what i thought we we fighting against in Arab world and other countries. Point is never feel complacent and like anything you have to say don't matter. Maybe as single input it don't but when merged with hundreds of others people take notice. Speak up and fight for what you think is right otherwise we are no longer a free country. Rather led by the hand being told what and what not to do.

POPSMSNBC Primetime Ignores Terror Plot Reported by Nets, CNN, FNC
Friday, September 24, Hardball, read by correspondent Christina Brown: "Terror suspect Najibullah Zazi is back in New York. He was flown from Colorado to a detention facility in Brooklyn to face charges of conspiring to use weapons of mass destruction on U.S. soil." By contrast, FNC's The O'Reilly Factor mentioned the story twice during the past week, while Special Report with Bret Baier mentioned it three times -- on September 18, 21, and 25. CNN's Campbell Brown covered the story even more aggressively, as the story received attention on her show on September 16, 18, 21, 22, 24, and 25. News of the plot also ran a few times on Anderson Cooper 360 and on Lou Dobbs Tonight. ABC's World News with Charles Gibson, the CBS Evening News, and the NBC Nightly News all ran several reports on the story over the past two weeks. Below is the complete transcript of one such story which aired on the NBC Nightly News on Monday, September 21: By Brad Wilmouth Sept. 28, 2009

POPSEarly Risers Crash Faster Than People Who Stay Up Late More important, these regions included the suprachiasmatic area, which is home to the body’s circadian clock. This area sends signals to boost alertness as the pressure to sleep mounts. Unlike night owls, early risers didn’t get this late-day lift. Peigneux says faster activation of sleep pressure appears to prevent early birds from fully benefiting from the circadian signal, as evening types do. Wait wait, did he just say the night owls showed no difference in attention-related brain activity and instead, after 10 hours they had grown more alert? This is great! I always worried about that, now seems like I don't have to, anymore. :D

POPSDo Tax Cuts Starve the Beast? No. indeed, the point estimates suggest that tax cuts increase spending. The results also indicate that the main effect of tax cuts on the government budget is to induce subsequent legislated tax increases. Examination of four episodes of major tax cuts reinforces these conclusions.

POPSBudget, tax ideas put to Obama team Im sure Reuters' Journalists have no partisan affiliation what-so-ever..right. "experts" - said a VAT tax is needed given that the traditional tax system is not providing yet; "Some participants" called for a reduction in the corporate tax rate and to defer any increases to income tax rates
