POPS5 now in custody in Richmond High gang rape Follow up on previous rape clip I posted. This is one of the most appalling clips I have posted and I was even hesitant in posting it but people have got to be aware of this kind of crime and what happens right here in this country. The clip is not only appalling but the actions of the people that witnessed the rape are as guilty as the people who committed the crime. I just don't understand that not even one person would not come to the aid of this poor girl. I fear that poor girl will never recover to any state of normalcy after what has happened to her. My heart certainly goes out to her and her family. How to help Richmond High School is accepting cards and donations for the victim and her family. They can be mailed to the school at 1250 23rd St., Richmond, CA 94804-1011. Make checks out to the Richmond High Student Fund. POPSToo fat to kill? Fla. man uses weight as a defense He argued that at 5 feet 7 and 267 pounds, his obesity made death by lethal injection inhumane because it would be difficult for prison staff to find suitable veins to deliver the deadly chemicals. There were no such difficulties when he was executed this month. POPSNASA discovers ice may be extensive on Mars A little over six months later, more images of the same crater showed the ice was gone, leaving only brown dirt where the frozen water had been. That, too, was exactly what the scientists believed would happen: the ice had "sublimated," turning to invisible vapor in the thin, cold Martian atmosphere. POPSFirekites - My New Favourite Music
Music for me is like clothing. You look in the wardrobe and at some point you scroll through and go, "nah, nah, nah etc" You might look at your whole wardrobe that way and when things are like that you know it is time to toss out the old and buy new clothes. Music is something I use a lot at different tmes, for different purposes. It is more than just reading or watching stuff - the music itself adds to the poetry of the songs. Can't help but tap my deeper inspiration through music - it allows that bird of inspiration to fly free and find new bliss. Yet, like clothing I can find myself squizzing through my CDs going, "nah, nah, nah... that's not it, that's not it..." and then I know it is time to find new music. So I have, "Firekites" are my current flavour for however long that keeps me inspired. Click the main link and you can listen to some of their music. It is chilled and very laid back, with meaning - so if you don't like music like that you probably won't like their

POPSScroogle: An introduction and micro-review As mentioned in a previous rant, here it is in the flesh. every person I have turned on to this has continued to use it, and with good cause. Its most obvious advantages are that it is simplistic and unbiased. Unlike serach engines from the Google family where the highest bidders appear on the first page. But it doesn't stop there, this is truly anonomous searching and surfing that to a large extent ignore ads, has multi-browser support (support for safari is near completion if not already done) and has a toggle button for when encryption is required. As with all open source stuff if you like it then support it... or don't.

POPSFeds Skewed Clunkers Results Trucks were also subject to lower fuel efficiency standards under the program, and analysts were initially surprised not to find more gas-guzzlers on the top 10 list. Seems the government stacked the deck to make its program look more environmentally sound than it is. (H/T j.leader for the tip) Is Cash for Clunkers green? You may be surprised by the facts. http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/blogs/green/detail?blogid=49&entry_id=44867

POPSDick Cheney rolls in his grave "You might say Dick is not pleased. In fact, Dick Cheney -- and the entire hawkish, antagonistic worldview he embodies -- is downright furious at this country's dangerous new direction. POPSHow many friends are you allowed to have?
Me and My Facebook I was introduced to Mark Morford during the nightmare of the Bush/Cheney or is it the Cheney/Bush administration’s HELLISH 8 year reign. His articles with all its sarcastic truthisms helped me survive during those dark days. After the 2004 horrendous election when the unthinkable of all unthinkables happened and the lunatics occupying our highest house of authority were given 4 more years to wreck havoc. When Bush/Cheney and their minions, smirked at the cameras, I was beside myself in despair. Then Mark Morford wrote an article for New Year’s 2005 and suggested how to survive the gloom of the following years. Amongst other suggestions he said ‘WHY NOT START A BLOG’. http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/g/a/2005/01/05/notes010505.DTL LIGHTBULBS lit up for me, http://thinkingblue.blogspot.com/2005/01/its-not-easy-being-blue.html I’ve been blogging ever since. Thanks Mark for that & thanks for this delightful article about facebook. thinkingblue.blogspot.co

POPSObama: "Cap & Trade Will Cause Electricity Rates To Skyrocket"
SEND THIS TO EVERYONE YOU KNOW! Obama admits that a Cap and Trade program will cause consumer electricity rates to skyrocket. Cap and Trade is nothing more than government control over private energy production and use via regulation of the life supporting, essential trace gas in our atmosphere, Carbon Dioxide (CO2). Carbon Dioxide (CO2) is Not Pollution (Popular Technology) http://www.populartechnology.net/2008... Carbon Dioxide (CO2) is not pollution and Global Warming has nothing to do with pollution. The average person has been misled and is confused about what the current Global Warming debate is about, greenhouse gases. None of which has anything to do with air pollution. People are confusing Smog, Carbon Monoxide (CO) and the pollutants in car exhaust with the life supporting, essential trace gas in our atmosphere, Carbon Dioxide (CO2). Pollution is already regulated under the Clean Air Act and regulating Carbon Dioxide (CO2) will do absolutely nothing to make the ai
