POPS1964: Malcolm X on Zionism
"The ever-scheming European imperialists wisely placed Israel where she could geographically divide the Arab world, infiltrate and sow the seed of dissension among African leaders and also divide the Africans against the Asians. Zionist Israel's occupation of Arab Palestine has forced the Arab world to waste billions of precious dollars on armaments, making it impossible for these newly independent Arab nations to concentrate on strengthening the economies of their countries and elevate the living standard of their people. And the continued low standard of living in the Arab world has been skilfully used by the Zionist propagandists to make it appear to the Africans that the Arab leaders are not intellectually or technically qualified to lift the living standard of their people ... thus, indirectly "educing" Africans to turn away from the Arabs and towards the Israelis for teachers and technical assistance. "They cripple the bird's wing, and then condemn it for not flying as f

POPSTips For Juice Extractors The pulp left over in the hopper - don’t throw it away! It can be used to add texture to smoothies and soups. Carrot pulp can be used for carrot cake, bread or muffins, without having to spend time shredding carrots. Sneak some of the nutritious pulp into meals. The kids won’t know they’re getting added fiber and vitamins - but you will!

POPSHazing at New Jersey's "top" high school This makes me furious. Not just because kids can be so cruel, but because this activity has been going on for over a decade without school administrators putting a stop to it. This is from one of the wealthiest towns in America and a school district that is ranked #1in the state. Man, growing up ain't easy.

POPSHuman Rights Abuse in Russia In a street in central Moscow tributes remain on the pavement where the most recent murder of a journalist and human rights campaigner took place. No one has been convicted or even arrested. Russia's human rights record is the worst in the western world. The country is the biggest single source of cases at the European Court of Human Rights. The majority of Russians get their national news from television - all of which is state controlled.

POPSSat Marks the Spot, Uncovers Pirate Weapons Haul In parallel, satellite imagery captured from southern Sudan showed tracked vehicles, parked under camouflage, at a Sudan People’s Liberation Army (SPLA) compound northeast of Juba, the capital of South Sudan. Jane’s observed that SPLA attempts to conceal the location “were deliberate and masterful, but dimensional analysis, tracked-vehicle scarring and the staging of three vehicles in a tactical perimeter established the concealed vehicles as tanks.” All told, Jane’s estimates that South Sudan has ordered around 100 main battle tanks. Observers have worried that an arms race is now under way between the Khartoum government and the government of South Sudan. A comprehensive peace deal was reached in 2005 after two decades of civil war, but that agreement has recently frayed. A referendum in 2011 opens the possibility that South Sudan may secede

POPSSpider builds life-sized decoys more: "We predicted that spiders with prey carcass decorations on webs should receive fewer wasp attacks because spiders should be well camouflaged by such objects," says Tso. "To our surprise, spiders on decorated webs received far more attacks than those on undecorated webs." That confirmed that the decorations attracted predators rather than acting as camouflage. However, Tseng and Tso suspected that these decorations might also redirect enough attacks to make them worthwhile.

POPSAwesome Innovations from the Underdeveloped Male Mind Hesh says that “the curtain may contain appropriately placed openings to allow for communication by or to the user”, which will allow for interaction like this: Man without Portable Rain Covering: “Dude, that’s really a sweet little device you’ve got there.” Man wearing Portable Rain Covering: “Thanks. I’ve had it for about a month now and I …..” Man without Portable Rain Covering: “Dude, that was sarcasm.”

POPSTipping Point! We cannot see what is happening, but as The Anchoress so elegantly demonstrates, we can peak in through Twitter and other bits of information drifting out. Iran’s government is on its heels, desperately trying to get control and hide the truth of its predicament from the world. We will know soon enough which side will win out. If the thugs can be isolated and crushed, then a new Iran will rise from this fire. To me the key is the military. As this story notes, the Iranian military is very large compared to the Revolutionary Guard and their militia thugs: Khamenei also picks the head of the armed forces - the 125,000-strong Revolutionary Guard and the 400,000-strong regular forces, plus 350,000 reservists. The local police are probably another force that could tip the scales and bring Iran out of the darkness. With sufficient numbers of military and police units protecting the protestors this revolution could just happen.

POPS Stephen (No-Hair) Colbert Is A Patriot! The four shows are to air this week starting Monday on Comedy Central. For Colbert in Iraq, tonight's Word is `haircut' CAMP VICTORY, Iraq -- Wearing a camouflage suit and tie, Stephen Colbert took his show to Baghdad to entertain U.S. soldiers in Iraq. For openers, President Barack Obama appeared by video to thank the troops. "You're welcome," the mock pundit answered. "I wasn't talking to you," the president deadpanned. To the roaring approval of hundreds of troops at Camp Victory, on the western edge of Baghdad, Colbert taped the first of four episodes of "The Colbert Report," in which he plays a pompous, blustering conservative TV host. His first guest was the towering, bald Gen. Ray Odierno. When Obama and the U.S. commander suggested Colbert had to look like a soldier in order to be a soldier, the general took an electric razor to Colbert's perfectly parted cable-news coif. http://www.heraldonline.com/wire/world/story/1393928.html
