POPSMONOPOLY AT WORK- DOES ANYBODY CARE More of the Manufactured Consent coming your way. Less Choice, Higher Prices, Let the Private Sector Reign Supreme. No Restrictions EVER. The Dumb Sheep will pay, because there is no other Way left. Watch it Happen Here, America, setting the Example for Mass Media Control. MMC. Control the Media, Control the Masses. Spending an average of 12 years in front of a Television should be tightly controlled for a PREDICTABLE OUTCOME. Congratulations CONCAST.

POPSWhy the Comcast-NBC Merger Must Be Stopped Perhaps the most dangerous risk of this deal -- and one we have seen many times in years -past - is that it will trigger a "merger wave" throughout the industry as distribution companies and content companies seek to "muscle up" to match the new threat that the vertically integrated Comcast poses. Consumer choice will be restricted and prices will rise. With diminishing competition, the likelihood of similar behavior by other companies grows stronger, as does the threat of collusion among competitors. - more @ clip source

POPSAnother Nail in Cable's Coffin I'm not watching cable TV just because I'm not free to choose (I mean completely free) and of course of commercials. In goal oriented information is not easy to insert manipulative technique. Apple QuickTime player is the best in quality and stability, the same for their hardware. So welcome, Apple, in our virtual life.

POPSCNN Drops to Last Place.... And the certain reason for this is: "The results demonstrate once more the apparent preference of viewers for opinion-oriented shows from the news networks in prime time." (tee-hee)

POPSFirst they came for Radio... now Cable ??? Wow, I thought cable was privately owned and not subject to regulation like the "Airwaves" of Radio & Broadcast Television... these people want to silence all opposition. I didn't agree with Beck's comment above, but he didn't say anything that you don't hear Al Sharpten say on an almost weekly basis (though not about Obama). The idea that they want to take away everyone's first amendment rights, by saying the "public trust of the cable spectrum" is being abused is appalling. Cable is Privately owned (at least for now!!) and no public spectrum is used - just the private networks owned by the various cable companies. That won't stop the hard left from trying to regulate speech.

POPSCable/telecoms: let us meter your web usage So if you download videos and they lose your TV account, they can recover the cost. So if AT&T loses your phone business to Skype, they can recover the cost. Some in Congress will resist, and we can hope this issue will attract anti-monopoly attention that the GOP put to sleep during Bushnight.

POPSMegacorps Agree To Stop Being Dicks At least for the moment. As someone who would've been screwed by this money grab, I'm glad they've come to an agreement. However, I think this shows why regulation needs to be brought back and brought back hard.

POPSAn Illustrated Guide to Every Cable You Need A Comment: "I hear Job's is working on the one cable to replace them all. Supposedly once you plug it into a device, it makes that device infinitely more powerful, then becomes invisible so there's no mess. One cable to rule them all, one cable to find them. One cable to bring them all, and in the darkness bind them."
