POPSIt Has The Stench Of Opportunity By reducing the amount of the potent greenhouse gas released into the air, the projects also potentially could turn cow dung into dollars, if a climate bill before Congress becomes law. "Agriculture and agribusiness is what Greeley is all about," Biggi said. "We needed to take that strong traditional economic base and ... merge it with emerging renewable energy and technology." Waste may be the new energy crop in these parts. But elsewhere, communities are looking anew at power sources such as the sun and wind that may exist in their own backyards.

Other iGod apps currently in beta test include an end-of-life calculator, income leveler, and a wireless database detector for anti-government heretics and apostates. "I believe this exciting health care partnership opportunity with the Almighty will be every bit as successful as our previous peace partnerships in the Middle East, and will pave the way for an eventual merger," said Obama. No date has been set for Government-God merger plans, but the FTC has signalled it would give quick approval. To finance the project, Obama said US Government would seek US$2 trillion in a 103rd round of involuntary venture capital. POPSEasy Google Profit And Other Work-At-Home Scams Then it zeroes in on, and praises “Easy Google Profit,” which offers people work from home posting links on Web sites using text advertising applications. It all looked legitimate; except, as the reporter points out, the “Miami Gazette” does not exist. And in tiny, hard to read type below the newspaper logo, the following statement appeared: “This publication is an article advertisement for Easy Google Profit.” The reporter’s friend didn’t notice the warning signs and signed up with her debit card. She had unknowingly authorized this scam work-at-home company to charge $72 to her debit card every month until she called to cancel. For example, in April, 2009, the Texas Attorney General filed a complaint against Infusion Media, Inc., a company that allegedly ran at least three sham work-at-home websites, two of which capitalized on the Google brand: GoogleMoneyTree.com, Google TreasureChest.com and InternetIncomeIntiative.com.

POPSIs News Behind a Paywall Really Worth it? Some more quotes: Furthermore, for every major news site that decides to charge, they have just opened the playing field wide open for others to come and scoop up their market with a better, smarter business model. And don't think some smart media execs and entrepreneurs aren't salivating over the opportunity of some major publications to go behind the paywall. He (Lionel Barber) continually talks up how important journalism is to the community, but doesn't do much to talk about how important the community is to news organizations. Links @ the source My opinion: If they don't embrace the new social media, it won't catch on. The landscape of journalism & media has evolved since the days people still bought (enough) newspapers. And if news-outlets won't embrace these new forms of media that entail things like blogging & comments to name a few, then only erecting a 'paywall' will not form a solution to their current situation.

POPSGo US Chamber of Commerce - Right On!!! "We're launching this campaign because those who make or influence economic policy must understand that a productive, competitive private sector is not something they can take for granted," "It is built on a system of incentives that offers opportunity and rewards for those who work hard and take risks. Take away those incentives through an avalanche of new rules, restrictions, mandates, and taxes and you will seriously undermine the wealth and job-creating capacity of the nation."

POPSGore & Ban Ki-Moon Push CEOs to Back Climate Change Deal
"During negotiations, developed countries always hope that a future China may do much better and greater efforts on addressing climate change issues," he said. Rajendra K. Pachauri, head of the U.N. Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change that shared the 2007 Nobel Peace Prize with Gore, said already "we are perhaps at the upper range" of predicted higher temperatures this century. "We have a very short window of opportunity," he said. "If we want to limit temperature increase to about 2 degrees Celsius (3.6 degrees Fahrenheit), then emissions globally must peak by 2015." Connie Hedegaard, Denmark's climate minister, told The Associated Press the best solution is global limits on pollution blamed for global warming instead of a tax on carbon dioxide and other warming gases. "I would hope that they would sort of agree that some kind of cap and trade will be the most efficient tool to achieve what science tells us what we must achieve," she said.

POPSOakland Mayor Ron Dellums "can no longer be viewed as benign" More: Meanwhile he has less than a week to read, review and approve a balanced budget that will likely need concessions from the unions that represent city employees. Union leaders who fully expect to negotiate salary and benefit issues with city officials have said they have yet to hear from Dellums' office about meetings to hash out critical issues. Dom Arotzarena, president of the Oakland Police Officer's Association, said he's been unable to schedule a meeting with the mayor's office for six months. Two labor unions representing the city's civilian workforce said they've come up with millions in potential savings but have never been provided the opportunity to present those ideas to the mayor's office… At this point, Dellums can no longer be viewed as benign. His lack of credibility, competence and public trust to implement even approved public policy has crippled Oakland's ability to conduct everyday business.

POPSOFF WITH HIS HEAD--PHIL GRAMM IS A GREEDY CRIMINAL Is it conceivable that this “knowing crime,” so widespread within the UBS enterprise, was unknown to Vice Chairman Gramm—even though it primarily involved U.S. tax evasion, and he had been hired by the company because of his expertise in American law, some of which he helped to write? As Gramm said when he was hired in 2002 by UBS, the position “will provide me with the opportunity to practice what I have always preached. I have been involved in every major financial debate since I’ve been in the Congress.” Phil Gramm lost his position as the co-chairman of John McCain’s presidential campaign when he blamed the recession not on the banking deregulation he championed but rather the people of the United States, which he described as a “nation of whiners.” But that was a sideshow compared with the serious charges now swirling around UBS, charges that may finally prove to be Gramm’s undoing.

I believe we truly have a unique opportunity to pave the way for a better world & be a paradigm for the Web 2.0 community. One final quote... "While at first glance this book appears aimed at the business sector, the key messages and principles it explores make it a "must read" for anyone in the education sector who has the slightest interest in understanding the environment that our schools are now operating in - and perhaps to understand why for many of our young people they simply aren't working any more!"
