The trend after removing ENSO (the "ENSO-adjusted" trend) is 0.00°±0.05°C decade–1, implying much greater disagreement with anticipated global temperature rise.

While the vulnerability is in an IE component, there is an attack vector for Firefox users as well. The reason is that .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 installs a “Windows Presentation Foundation” plug-in in Firefox. Now, Microsoft’s security folks are actually recommending that Firefox users uninstall the buggy add-on: For Firefox users with .NET Framework 3.5 installed, you may use “Tools”-> “Add-ons” -> “Plugins”, select “Windows Presentation Foundation”, and click “Disable" This introduction of vulnerabilities in a competing browser is a colossal embarrassment for Microsoft. These were characters who, prior to their arrests in 1996, had stockpiled close to 2,000 pounds of ammonium nitrate and conducted field training exercises, practiced bomb-making, and trained with illegal automatic weapons. Now, all the Fox talkers have been in heavy denial about extremists showing up for their tea-party protests, even making a regular joke out of it by asking the protesters they have on their show if they're Klan members and the like. But it's becoming clearer all the time that, while not everyone at these events is an extremist, the percentages of them keep going up and up. And with them, so does the threat to public safety.

Joke>>These guys got spooked by an earlier boarding and decided to scuttle.....Article mentioned a "secret cargo" suspected--this from Mikhail Voitenko, editor of the Russian Maritime Bulletin Web site said he believed the vessel was carrying "some kind of secret cargo" which made it attractive to potential hijackers.

POPSThe world in active nuclear weapons How man nuclear warheads does it take to destroy our planet? It’s wonderful that Russia and the U.S. are negotiating to cut the number of nuclear weapons that threaten our world. But isn’t it rather useless? The devastation we wrought on Japan to end the second world war should have convinced any sane person that this weapon is a terrible and highly unethical threat to mankind and should be banned forever.
