Muslim protesters 'branded British soldiers as rapists and baby killers' at homecoming parade
foxyarse
by foxyarse  1-4-2010
Today seven Muslim men appeared at Luton Magistrates Court charged with using threatening, abusive, insulting words and behaviour which was likely to cause harassment, alarm and distress to others. The seven men refused to stand when district judge Carolyn Mellanby walked in, as is the custom in court. Their lawyers explained that this was because as Muslims they could not make a show of respect to any human being, only to God. Read more: http://www.dailymail.co.uk

Love The Warriors

On New Year’s Eve, we learned that Qais Khazali has been released, apparently as part of a prisoner exchange for British hostage Peter Moore. Laith Khazali was already released six months ago. Peter Moore was kidnapped in May 2007, explicitly to be used as a bargaining chip for the freedom of the Khazali brothers. The circumstances around Qais Khazali’s release are murky, with the usual denials and clarifications swirling around like a cloud of confetti over Times Square on New Years’ Eve. Multi National Force spokesmen claim this was not a hostage trade, but rather an attempt to comply with “the implementation of the U.S. " Iraq Security Agreement” and support a “reconciliation process.” Some suggest this is all part of an elaborate intelligence operation. Republican Senators Jeff Sessions and Jon Kyl have already sent a letter to the Obama Administration, citing an executive order signed by President Reagan in 1986 that prohibits concessions to terrorist hostage .....

Born in East Lancashire, but still in the Punjab
notareargunner

Shahid Malik is the type of dross who can insult veterans as he hides behind Parliamentary pivilege. As the Labour spin machine gets into full turn, this poor excuse of a public official will bounce back stronger than ever. With so many young men dying for him to abuse his position, I will risk the wrath of the courts by pointing out that Maliks’ benefactors will do anything to rehabilitate him. But they will not join the British Armed Forces. Have you noticed how few of his people are actually in the Forces? Why should they? They can foster their own positions whilst Lancashire Lads are dying. And this MP in Yorkshire can continue to insult veterans and the types of Gordon Marsden will not take up the cudgel on veterans’ behalf.

Forget Vietnam Analogies - Remember Cambodia and Laos - now Pakistan
nedhamson1
by nedhamson1  12-28-2009
Pakistan is beginning to look like a combination of the not-so-secret wars in Cambodia and Laos - Those pesky Viet Cong kept slipping into Laos and Cambodia to escape B-52s. Those Taliban - they just won't stay in one place. Didn't the British say the same thing about those pesky Minute Men and Green Mountain boys. Not saying the Taliban are right in any way, it's just that - we are the British to the Afghans. When Afghans unite for their own freedom against the Taliban view of the world, they will win and we can go home. The training up of Afghan army and police also seems a lot like what we did not get right in Vietnam. why? Because, we are simply empowering rule by old tribal war lords. I suspect that the Afghan people want none of the Taliban, us or the tribal war lords. Think about how to help them come to fore might help to bring peace that will last.

UN-Backed Troops Accused of Killing & Raping Civilians
merrie
by merrie  12-14-2009    3
British-based organization Oxfam said. Human Rights Watch said it documented the killings of 732 civilians between January and September by the Congolese army and troops from neighboring Rwanda fighting alongside it. In the same period, it counted 701 civilians killed by the rebels they are fighting. “Some victims were tied together before their throats were, according to one witness, ’slit like chickens.’ The majority of the victims were women, children, and the elderly,” the group said. More than 7,500 cases of sexual violence against women and girls were registered at health centers during that nine-month period, nearly double that of 2008 and likely representing only a fraction of the total. The Story of the Red Poppy
sahara
by sahara  11-21-2009
So the Americans arranged for artificial poppies to be made by women in war-ravaged northern France. The funds raised from selling the poppies were for children who had suffered because of the war. In Britain, the weary soldiers came back from the grimness of war to find that life was hard at home too, though in a different way. Many of the men were wounded or disabled or suffering the effects of gas and shell-shock. Many were physically or mentally unable to work; many others found that there were no jobs anyway. The provision made for them by the state was less than adequate. They certainly didn't get the heroes' homecoming that they had been led to expect. So ex-servicemen's societies united in 1921 to form the British Legion. Its purpose was to provide support to ex-servicemen, especially the disabled, and their families, and it was to become one of the most successful British charities ever.

Billionaire's Son Hiding in Yemen: UK Rape-Murder Charges Arab Playboy
merrie

Highly trained soldiers want to get him because of this horrible example of injustice. "They have been used in Iraq. They said they are willing to get him and it has taken a lot of talking with them to get them to see it is not the way to go. "It would have to be very covert and it would be a tremendous political challenge. It would be much better if legal means could cause a breakthrough." A friend told the Standard: "The Yemen authorities are still holding out and the family can hide behind their constitution. The impression is they will not change their mind despite all the public pressure on them. "The father pretends there is nothing he can do as his son is a grown-up. It seems he is never going to be extradited for a British trial. "If they have not succumbed to pressure now, it is not going to happen. How can the world live with the fact some nation's citizens can be above the law?" Read more: http://preview.tinyurl.com/yhvw2k5

Murderous US drones condemned by UN.

Americans who are confused by the grotesque transformation of the modest aim of capturing a few bad men into a conflagration that has destroyed the lives of millions echo the Guardian of the 1920s, which asked why the British government had to send "all this machinery, all these forces...if we were establishing a political system on the basis of popular consent?" Without distinguishing between drones that protect our troops and those that drop bombs and hover menacingly over an occupied people, The Economist taunts, "like them or not, drones are here to stay." Now, who are the terrorists here and which is the rogue state ?

Radical Islamist to Lead Unprecedented March
foxyarse
by foxyarse  10-24-2009
Mr Griffin also hailed the development, saying, "this move by the Pak.. I mean the radical Islamists demonstrates that the BNP is now the right choice for Britain's idiots. We stand now as a mainstream Party, offering the opportunity of quality multicultural unfairness to all Britain's morons. As part of the move the BNP's Constitution is to be reviewed to bring it more in line with the teachings of radical Islam. References to 'ragheads' and other potentially Islamic slights are to be removed, with greater emphasis placed instead on the disempowerment of woman. However, both men said they were in agreement that any bits about being Jewish could stay in place. Reports that the cleric intends to stand for Parliament remain unconfirmed.

Black SAS war hero who held off 250 rebels single-handed
foxyarse
by foxyarse  10-22-2009    1
With no cover and facing certain death, he sprinted across 800 metres of exposed ground to reach a 25-pound field-gun. It was a brave - but apparently futile manouevre - as the huge weapon took three men to operate. That, however, did not deter Labalaba. Nor did facial injuries which would have rendered a lesser man helpless. As British forces watched in astonishment, Labalaba turned the cumbersome gun on the enemy and opened fire at near point blank range. He went on for six hours, decimating the rebels and ultimately paying for his courage with his life. His comrades found him slumped face down by the massive gun. His selfless actions undoubtedly saved many of the British soldiers holed up inside the fort and won him a posthumous Mention in Despatches. For many, his statue will be a long-overdue memorial to one of the SAS's greatest heroes. It is also some small recompense to thousands of ethnic minority servicemen, many from Commonwealth countries, who feel their

Like the Basque country, Northern Ireland must prepare for occasional terrorist outrages
zizzy
by zizzy  9-29-2009    3
more @ clip source Eta's current nihilistic campaign probably provides an even better comparison. We may in fact have to accept that – just as Spain and the Basque country will be shaken occasionally by the odd Eta outrage – the same goes for Northern Ireland and extremist republican groups. Basque nationalism has actually enjoyed more compromises from the Spanish state in the areas of language, culture and devolved power than Irish nationalists experience presently under their own devolved settlement. But for those in Euskadi who dream of an independent UN-recognised state straddling the Pyrenees the struggle must go on. And just as the uncompromising Etarras (militants) will continue with their futile terror, so too will an eternally insolent minority on the republican fringe

Britains continual strife
notareargunner

They do not accept the Rule of Law, the Queens mandate, but take British monies along with all the drugs, illicit fuel, prostitution and all the other third world crimes they commit. All the sympathy I once felt for their cause and the injustice they suffered, has long since been expunged through their single-minded aim of unification.
