POPSAn evolved tendency to care about cheating? "Why does an image of a pair of eyes motivate cooperative behaviour? While it is possible that the eyes were simply more effective than the flowers at attracting people's attention to the notice, we do not believe that this is the explanation for our findings. The participants had all been informed prior to the experiment that they were supposed to pay for their drinks. Furthermore, the notice was positioned such that it was not possible that anyone making drinks would fail to see it, irrespective of the image displayed. Instead, we believe that images of eyes motivate cooperative behaviour because they induce a perception in participants of being watched. Although participants were not actually observed in either of our experimental conditions, the human perceptual system contains neurons that respond selectively to stimuli involving faces and eyes" "reputational concerns may be extremely powerful in motivating cooperative behaviour."

POPSBrain rewards aggression much like it does sex, food, drugs For the experiments, a pair of mice — one male, one female — was kept in one cage and five "intruder" mice were kept in a separate cage. The female mouse was temporarily removed, and an intruder mouse was introduced in its place, triggering an aggressive response by the 'home' male mouse. Aggressive behavior included tail rattle, an aggressive sideways stance, boxing and biting. The home mouse was then trained to poke a target with its nose to get the intruder to return, at which point it again behaved aggressively toward it. The home mouse consistently poked the trigger, which was presented once a day, indicating it experienced the aggressive encounter with the intruder as a reward. The same "home" mice were then treated with a drug that suppressed their dopamine receptors. After this treatment, they decreased the frequency with which they instigated the intruder's entry.

POPSNew ID rules complicate travel
Drivers licenses will not be valid ID for boarding aircraft. There is now REAL ID, which seems equivalent to an internal passport. It's only a matter of time before they point how easy it would be to implant a registered ID chip at birth, before anyone has had time to argue. The political 'Dream' is to know where everyone is all of the time, and be able to track money, wherever it is. To the mite. Why is it taking so long with all of the talk of wars and enemies through the development of civilization, for people to work out that Mankind must have an aspect to it's character that makes it it's own worst enemy. We have spent our entire History Shadow Boxing. If we see a 'mirror' we try and smash the glass, because we are afraid we may see our true selves. While cutting our hands on the glass, we pretend there is a victory. An image is a poor substitute for something we have a clear view of. Our own hearts. I thought the aim of the constitution was to prevent things like this happe

POPSLife of people around Wudang Mountain and something about Chinese Taoist Culture
Someone may remember the movie"Crouching Tiger,Hiding Dragon",which directed by Ann Lee.In that movie, hero performed by Yun-Fat Chow is the Master of Wudang,so we can see many Wudang Kungfu and wonderful Wudang landscapes in the movie. Wudang always play an important part throughout Chinese history, either in Taoist,or in Kungfu. It's one of cradlelands of Taoist, and its Kungfu, one important school of Chinese Martial Arts,as famous as Shaolin Temple for our Chinese, has a very long history. The Kungfu, such as Taiji Boxing(Tai Chi),incorporating the ways to Taoist culture(keep healthy and prolong the lifespan)and collecting the skills to fight. Chinese Taoist Culture and Taoist Temples on Wudang are unique. But now ,local government dont think much of these.By contrast, even some of these temples have a longer history than Forbidden City in Beijing,it has been damaged a lot because of non-protect,people around the mountain are poor.Furthermore, some Chinese traditional culture are losin
