POPSHow Many Gallons of Water Does it Take to Make... Violence over water rights is already breaking out in regions of the world where water is scarce. Along with political tensions--and maybe wars--we're going to see food production affected, and more people flat out hungry and thirsty. And it's all because we're simply using too much water.

POPS2012 Is Already Here "It started off same as always; coupla fossils saying how our Banjo Patterson was a better poet than Walt Whitman, how Con the Fruiterer is funnier than Seinfeld, only they're Aussies so no one knows about 'em," recalled witness Kevin Porter. "Then this bloke Martin pipes up and says Australia's main problem is that it's stuck in Australia, and everybody says 'Too right!'" "Well, it made sense at the time," Porter added. By 2 a.m., powered by national pride and alcohol, the 3-million-square-mile land mass was barging eastward through the Coral Sea and crossing into the central Pacific, leaving a trail of beer cans and Chinese take-away in its wake. When dawn broke over the Northern Hemisphere, the continent suddenly found itself, not only upside down, but smack in the middle of the Atlantic, and according to most of its 19 million inhabitants, that's the way it's going to stay.

POPSA History of Alcohol in the White House "Mr. Obama has made the White House a beer-friendly place, which is a fine thing. But he can do much better, and could stand to take a lesson or two from F.D.R. I suspect that the desired feelings of brotherly love will flow more freely if the next Beer Summit is a kegger."

POPSShould Marijuana Ban Go Up in Smoke?
Although this is considered a 'back burner,' issue in the more real world of lying to lead a nation into false wars or the SuperRich & Wall St. speculators ripping off untold trillions the futility and hyprocracy of this always comes around again and again. The prime illegal use of drugs is of prescription drugs. One of the drugs that does the most damage to self and society is booze. The War on Weed is a failure, will always be a failure, and it's main use thus far appears to be to give permission for USA covert wars in Central and South America and put hundreds of thousands of those who might tend to be domestic 'social dissidents,' in jail. Now, too, it's being added to one of the reasons to kill people in Afghanistan; gotta stop them from growing drugs. If anyone is seriously interested in reducing interest in drugs then all drug advertising (pot or pills or booze, etc.) should be banned from TV. If you want to stop drug abuse stop promoting drug use. Try that 'D

POPSAlcoholism: What you might not knowze Much of that risk is inherited. Studies show that as much as 60 percent of the risk of alcohol-use disorders is genetic, said Dr. Marc Schuckit, professor of psychiatry at the University of California, San Diego, and director of the alcohol and drug treatment program at the Veterans Affairs-San Diego Healthcare System, who wrote the Lancet article

POPSEurope's Weird Ways There are a few more fun things to be done in Europe, at the source. There's tons to do! Here in DK we have something called Sankt Hans Aften where we all head to the beach and build huge bonfires and burn funny effigies of witches on them and then we eat way too much and get way too drunk. It's a lot of fun. .:D Here's the posh song mentioned in the link, we try to sing (a tradition), but we're usually too drunk and it ends up a total travesty. We are just SO cultured here. *Enjoy* .:D "We Love Our Country"

POPSDoes Michelle Obama Have a Drinking Problem? Is alcohol rehab part of healthcare plan? But he also feels guilty because of the pictures taken of him drinking beer at an NBA game recently.” The President also feels he may have contributed to his wife’s alcohol issues by not stopping her from overindulging during their date night in New York City on May 30. Michelle, 45, knocked back “a glass or two of champagne” while the couple flew to the Big Apple on a private jet, according to the close source, and published reports said she downed two martinis during dinner at the Greenwich Village restaurant Blue Hill. “It was clear that Mrs. Obama was having a VERY good time,” a restaurant employee told The ENQUIRER. “There’s a real fear that she may be drinking more than she should as a result of the pressures that come along with being First Lady,” an insider divulged. It looks like “Last call” are the First Lady’s least favorite words. Source: NationalEnquirer.com

POPSWTF? Ok, this is funny, but keep those "straight" girls away from me please!!!! I think I agree with the author that they have the potential to offend! Besides, sleeping with your best friend is kinda, well . . . icky. "Don't sleep with your drummer" sounds so much more profound to me.

POPSMarijuana War Up in Smoke!
California here we come! --- An exodus similar to the Great Depression will soon be heading west. Go West, young person, there you will find a new world. But, seriously....the hypocracy of the nation pushing booze and pills massively on TV everyday, while sending pot smokers to jail, is at a turning point. The turning point is that the U.S. will stop using federal law to arrest individual marijuana consumers. This allows each of the 50-states to set their own laws about it...sort of like the idea of our Constitution and democracy intended -- prior to evil leaders trying to use a "War on Drugs," as as excuse before the "Global War on Terrorism," came along. 14 states have already made personal consumption of marijuana a non-criminal offense (so no need to rush out to northern California...although it's thriving out there, no doubt) These states did this change even though it was moot ---- till now. Now, it's not "moot." - more states (like mine) now seeking ballot init

POPSThe Mystery is Why People Put Up With It Hence the massive sales tax hike … with the tax expanded to cover already heavily taxed booze … that was enacted once the hacks figured out that the people in the fog either don’t care or are too befuddled to notice. The fog itself is no big mystery. It’s pumped out of big fog machines operated by local unions, the hacks themselves, and the above mentioned broadsheet. The mystery is why people put up with it. But people get the government, and the fog, they deserve.
