POPSThe Democrats have lost the source of their passion This point by Paul Krugman is so true. Many people who voted for Obama, including myself, did so primarily out of hope that his spirit and belief in change deserved a chance to succeed. My candid perspective is that his spirit began to diminish during his swearing in and has continued to dissipate ever since. It's hard to understand and very frustrating...but i think my feelings of disappointment are shared by many in this country.

POPS Debacle in Moscow by Charles Krauthammer
And what's come from Obama's single most dramatic foreign policy stroke -- the sudden abrogation of missile defense arrangements with Poland and the Czech Republic that Russia had virulently opposed? For the East Europeans it was a crushing blow, a gratuitous restoration of Russian influence over a region that thought it had regained independence under American protection. But maybe not gratuitous. Some brilliant secret trade-off to get strong Russian support for stopping Iran from going nuclear before it's too late? Just wait and see, said administration officials, who then gleefully played up an oblique statement by President Dmitry Medvedev a week later as vindication of the missile defense betrayal. The Russian statement was so equivocal that such a claim seemed a ridiculous stretch at the time. Well, Clinton went to Moscow this week to nail down the deal. What did she get? "Russia Not Budging On Iran Sanctions: Clinton Unable to Sway Counterpart."

POPSMuch Of Traditional Journalism Went Backwards
and were so badly in the tank for one candidate in 2008 that 90 percent of the public can see it. As ABC’s Michael Malone wrote in October of 2008: I also happen to believe that most reporters, whatever their political bias, are human torpedoes . . .and, had they been unleashed, would have raced in and roughed up the Obama campaign as much as they did McCain’s. That’s what reporters do, I was proud to have been one, and I’m still drawn to a good story, any good story, like a shark to blood in the water. So why weren’t those legions of hungry reporters set loose on the Obama campaign? Who are the real villains in this story of mainstream media betrayal? The editors. The men and women you don’t see; the people who not only decide what goes in the paper, but what doesn’t; the managers who give the reporters their assignments and lay-out the editorial pages. They are the real culprits. Picture yourself in your 50s in a job where you’ve spent 30 years

Changing one word in its name, the Human Rights Council instantly resumed its former practices: ignoring massive human rights violations around the globe and condemning Israel. POPSCulture of Terror: the Collapse of America ~ I
This great betrayal has taken our “progressive” culture, with “the giant” of applied science lurking over everyone’s sense of the possible and turned it to fatalism. These betrayals have led to “multiculturalism” and the balkanization both of nations, and families, the better to centralize power and to scramble all states into a World “Commonwealth” where power, control and resources are monopolized by an oligarchy; those closer to the labyrinth’s center having greater amounts of all material and social perks and greater immunity from “law.” The dogma of “relativism,” gussied up as “situational ethics” means in effect that the law is the will of those with most power and that reason is an instrument of will and thus of appetites; that the rationales of this new State are thus insane, acts of wanton atrocity, to quote Melville in the epigraph. This deification of the will is a radical subversion of the principles of law, justice and righteousness, as well as charity rooted in Scri

POPSFEDS GRANT EMINENT DOMAIN AS COLLATERAL TO CHINA FOR U.S. DEBTS Put simply, the feds have now actually mortgaged the physical land and property of all citizens and businesses in the United States. They have given to a foreign power, their Constitutional power to “take” all of our property, as actual collateral for continued Chinese funding of US deficit spending and the continued carrying of US national debt. This is an unimaginable betrayal of every man, woman and child in the USA. An outrage worthy of violent overthrow.

POPSDoes Hogwarts have a drinking problem? Seriously, as the books and characters get older, so should the reader. The last 2 books are about betrayal and murder. Why would it be ok to let your 10 year old see that movie or read those books? When you're a parent, it's your job to supervise your children. Just do it folks. Don't make me come to your homes and open up a can of whoop-ass! :)

POPSNever unfollow someone just because they unfollowed you "In fact, a 1996 study found that people in communal relationships were more likely than those in exchange relationships to view demands or offers of reciprocity as a betrayal. If, on the other hand, the ex-follower isn't a friend, you have an exchange relationship: a mutually beneficial trade in links, information, and follower counts. Funny thing is, the unfollowing doesn't really change that. Sure, you can't count the person as a follower, but you can still get perspective and yucks in 140-character bursts. Meanwhile, you contribute to their influence and follower tally. And while having a huge network is good for the ego, being in the know beats being popular any day." I guess the same goes for CM. :-)

POPSEarth Treason Eight years later, it’s starting to look like they aren’t anymore. Think about it. Now Krugman’s tossing around the word “treason.” Sounds scary at first, a little cavalier, even dangerous. Sounds like radical left-wing hate speech. It made me worried, because the Department of Homeland Security warned against extremist political hate speech . . . Let’s be real. Krugman is an august Nobel laureate, not some frothing populist wackjob. And it isn’t like total nutcases read the New York Times. DHS was very specific about the threat. It’s from radical right-wing extremists. You don’t have to worry about the left-wing kind. With that kind of weight behind the anti-planet betrayal movement, I’m convinced. I’ve turned the corner. I’m ready to go “green,” but I’m not really interested in pussyfooting around. When someone like Krugman starts using the “T” word, that can only mean it’s time for radical action. No, I don’t mean targeted hits on Earth-hating Republicans or truck bombs

POPSObama on His Socialized Medicine Plan, "Yes We Can" "While doctrinaire socialists might feel betrayed by liberalism's cozy embrace of big business, their betrayal pales in comparison to the bitterness of free-marketers who defend big business's freedom to operate, only to see these businesses use that freedom to hide behind the skirts of the nanny state. Real freedom means the freedom to fail as well as succeed. Big business wants to be protected from the former and deny competitors the latter. And their betrayal, more than anything, disheartens those who would defend both freedoms." --columnist Jonah Goldberg "We can debate endlessly whether the Constitution authorizes any president to 'overhaul' the financial system. But I want to focus on a different matter: whether any president, with all his advisers, is capable of overseeing something as complex as the financial system.

POPSThe Machine, Propaganda Coordination Obama is coordinating questions with his brown-shirt bloggers. Pitney asked: “Under which conditions would you accept the election of Ahmadinejad, and if you do accept it without any significant changes in the conditions there, isn't that a betrayal of the " of what the demonstrators there are working towards?” Since Obama is the first president in office in the modern media era, he has the priviledge of having a reporters from an unabashedly liberal website covering his press conferences, but one would think they would draw the line at coordinating questions. Meanwhile, Obama was dismissive of one of Jake Tapper's tough questions on healthcare.

POPSMORE DOMA / DADT BLOWBACK: Gay figures pull out of Biden fundraiser R.S. McCain, in feeling the pain of angry gay Democrats as they realize that President Obama is not really the man riding the pink unicorn. He just plays one during campaign season. He suggests they abandon their party and join the GOP: While Republicans won’t offer the sweeping promises Democrats regularly make to gay people, well, at least they won’t break them. But, in the end, it all comes down to that pink unicorn, that image of Barack Obama, presidential candidate, new kind of postpartisan politician with his airy rhetoric and sweeping promises to all and sundry. Republicans just don’t ride pink unicorns, at least not on the campaign trail.

POPS0bama, Big Business, And The Fall Of Capitalism Once-proud companies like GE have become seduced by global-warming schemes because they recognize that there’s more money to be made selling white elephants to Uncle Sam than there is selling competitive products consumers want. Indeed, cap-and-trade taxes promise to deliver precisely the protectionist industrial policies the Left has dreamed of for decades, only under a “progressive” label. Also this week, the White House announced its plan to deal with “systemic risk” in the financial markets. The basic idea is that big firms " giant banks, insurance companies, etc. " cannot be allowed to fail if their failure threatens something called “stability.” The Obama administration is confident that with its new organizational flow charts and enhanced job description for the Federal Reserve, bureaucrats will suddenly see clearly what they couldn’t see before.

POPSMemorial Day Patriotism, Myths, and "Day of Deceit"
Memorial Day has become a means of self-justification and propaganda to paint a picture of military operations through "remembering the dead" into National Righteousness. Books like this one quickly counter and dispel such myths about the wars Americans have fought in, being misled by Presidents on a global agenda instead of wars of self-defense. the eminent newsman, Edward R. Murrow, who snacked with FDR the night of Pearl Harbor, told his wife the president had revealed: "the biggest story of my life, but I don't know if it's my duty to tell it or forget it." According to Stinnett, years after the war ended, Murrow informed another journalist: "That story would send Casey Murrow through college, and if you think I'm going to give it to you, you're out of your mind." This article covers much more than this book, up to the present wars since 9/11, showing that "oil" plays an important role in each for Petro-Imperialism See article for much more.

POPS NO CLASS!!! to veterans charities. In office, Bush hugely increased funding for veterans programs and worked relentlessly to improve the lot of ordinary troops. It would be interesting to know how much of his own money Barack Obama has given to veterans' charities over the years. I'd hazard a guess: zero. Obama's incessant attacks on the Bush administration tell us nothing about former President Bush, but a great deal about Barack Obama: the man has no class.

POPSMust read letter to AG Holder - Releasing Detainees
Under the circumstances, I think the better course is to register my dissent, rather than be used as a prop. Moreover, in light of public statements by both you and the President, it is dismayingly clear that, under your leadership, the Justice Department takes the position that a lawyer who in good faith offers legal advice to government policy makers—like the government lawyers who offered good faith advice on interrogation policy—may be subject to investigation and prosecution for the content of that advice, in addition to empty but professionally damaging accusations of ethical misconduct. Given that stance, any prudent lawyer would have to hesitate before offering advice to the government. Beyond that, as elucidated in my writing (including my proposal for a new national security court, which I understand the Task Force has perused), I believe alien enemy combatants should be detained at Guantanamo Bay (or a facility like it) until the conclusion of hostilities.
