POPSWhat Obama Is Up Against This article makes some very good points regarding hte limitations of Presidential authority. If we want what we voted for,we have to continually work for it. The U.S. is in this current situation because "We the People" have neglected our duties as citizens to keep ourselves informed, oversee our representatives by making damn sure that they know exactly what we want and then follow-up to ensure that they do what is needed. Casting a vote every 2 to 4 years and then ignoring everything that happens in between voting, does not a Democracy make.

POPSHow Long Will Bush Be Blamed! Nine months later, Americans are finding their savior has feet of clay. Foible after foible, Obama is proving to be unable to fulfill his own messianic expectations. Even more disturbing is Obama's "startlingly shallow" unwillingness to man up to his policy failures or decline to comment when presented with an opportunity to blame George W. Bush. Thus, the eloquent gift that catapulted Obama to stratospheric heights of power is fast becoming a political liability exposing him as both an unprincipled person and leader.

POPSWhat the data miners are digging up about you They know how much we paid for our house, what magazines we subscribe to, which books we buy and what vacations we take. Microsoft has filed patents for technology that monitors the heart rate, blood pressure, galvanic skin response, facial expressions of office workers, and even their brain waves. The idea, the patents say, is to let managers know if workers are experiencing heightened frustration or stress. Given that the same technologies are used in lie detectors and to study human behavior, it seems unlikely many workforces would quietly accept their boss introducing such a system.

POPSThe Truth According To a Troofer: "America Had It Coming"
Traveling through the Middle East about six months after 9/11, I was struck by the number of Arabs, from Egypt to the Gulf, who simultaneously believed (a) the Mossad were behind the attacks and (b) it was a great victory for the Muslim world. Van Jones would seem to be an American variant of the same phenomenon: a man who believes 9/11 was (a) blowback for the actions of the US government's war machine and (b) an inside job by the US government's war machine. No wonder the left derides those boorish enough to bring this stuff up: Why, surely all sophisticated persons know these positions are little more than lifestyle accessories or fashion hemlines. One season, everyone on the catwalk is agreed 9/11 was blowback by Jihadists for Social Justice. The next, everyone is equally agreed that Bush called up the White House Steel Melting Czar and buried the whole thing under "miscellaneous" in the budget. by Mark Steyn http://corner.nationalreview.com/

POPSVan Jones - Green Jobs 'Czar' - Communist I've been reading more and more about this guy...and he scares me. No matter what role he plays in our government, the fact is, he's not elected, hasn't been appointed and then confirmed by the Congress. He's just 'THERE'. He has the President's ear. Of course, I previously clipped a piece about Obama's membership in the New Party. So maybe not just his ear - but his heart?

POPSPresident Obama's Aggressive Investigation of the CIA "The United States' intelligence community is undergoing the most extensive " perhaps even radical " transformations since the Office of Strategic Services gave way to the Central Intelligence Agency," said Det. Frances. CIA morale hits new low due to Obama Administration threats "Recognizing that people are the critical element in transformation initiatives is key to a successful transformation of the intelligence community and related homeland security organizations. However, an agency headed by a politically motivated party hack is a dangerous thing for the American people," political strategist Mike Baker said. The CIA is responsible for coordinating US counterintelligence activities abroad. Each of the military departments also has a counterintelligence element that operates domestically and overseas. "Historically, intelligence agencies have not performed this crucial function very well.

POPS Obama File 82 Exclusive! Obama, The Communist Van Jones and the Demos Connection Obama file 81 here http://newzeal.blogspot.com/2009/08/obama-file-81-former-weathermen.html Incidentally in the mid 1990s, Collins was one of several IPS people who helped organise the New Party-which Obama joined in 1995 in Chicago. Van Jones serves om the Demos Board of Trustees. So where does Obama fit in? According to the Demos website; Demos began as a vision of Charles Halpern--then the president of the Nathan Cummings Foundation and a veteran non-profit entrepreneur. He was troubled by the narrow conversation about America's future. On the eve of the 21st century, it seemed that America no longer had the imagination to tackle its largest problems and build a more just society . In 1979 Don Rose, a mentor to Obama's right hand man David Axelrod served in the leadership of the IPS spinoff Conference on Alternative State and Local Policies, with Miles Rapoport.

POPSA Czar Too Far - #5 The administration’s “Green Jobs” czar, Van Jones, has a “very checkered past” deep-rooted in radical politics, including black nationalism, anarchism, and communism. The broadcast network newscasts have mostly failed to report on Mr. Jones’s past political affiliations which are lock-step with the network’s downplay of coverage regarding President Obama’s associations with the former radical and terrorist William Ayers during the election. Jones is a San Francisco extremist who admits to having been “radicalized in jail.” You really should read ALL of Moonbattery’s post. Very enlightening to say the least… From the Examiner: Van Jones, ‘Green Jobs Czar’, a self-described ‘communist’ arrested during Rodney King riots The 41-year-old Yale Law School graduate and civil rights lawyer is also the founder of California’s Ella Baker Center for Human Rights, “a non-profit agency for justice, opportunities and peace.” Sounds idyllic, but Jones’ past isn’t so pastoral.

POPSEager to Tap Iraq's Vast Oil Reserves Industry Execs Suggested Invasion
In Ron Suskind's 2004 book, "The Price of Loyalty," O'Neill said an invasion of Iraq was on the agenda at the first National Security Council. There was even a map for a post-war occupation, marking out how Iraq's oil fields would be carved up. Even at that early date, the message from Bush was "find a way to do this," according to O'Neill, a critic of the Iraq invasion who was forced out of his job in December 2002. The New Yorker's Jane Mayer later made another discovery: a secret NSC document dated February 3, 2001 - only two weeks after Bush took office - instructing NSC officials to cooperate with Cheney's task force, which was "melding" two previously unrelated areas of policy: "the review of operational policies towards rogue states" and "actions regarding the capture of new and existing oil and gas fields." By March 2001, Cheney's task force had prepared a set of documents with a map of Iraqi oilfields, pipelines, refiner
